Appleton would be hilarious. Can't think of a bigger sign of how far we have fallen.21
-
Would prefer Appleton over Cowley Bros.
Seems a bit more steely and wont take the shit whereas Cowley looks like that weirdo down the pub who wants to be your mate whilst trying to sponge a pint!

Meire would’ve interviewed about fifty by now.

Neither have been promoted from this level. Both failed at their most recent jobs, Appleton at Blackpool and Cowley at Pompey. Hopefully others are being interviewed as both of these scream of mid-table and sacked next September5
-
“Now then Danny(+bruv)/Michael how much will you pay us to let you manage here?”1
-
I'm hearing murmurings that a certain Dave Hockaday has entered the race. Championship experience so worth a go2
-
They’re gonna have to start Karl Robinson’s pre match presser now if they want him to make it to the game in time for Saturday.4

Not many managers are available for doing wellNabySarr said:Neither have been promoted from this level. Both failed at their most recent jobs, Appleton at Blackpool and Cowley at Pompey. Hopefully others are being interviewed as both of these scream of mid-table and sacked next September3 -

Really hope not Appleton14

Still rooting for a Bowyer return. Got a good feeling about that7
-
“Now then Danny(+bruv)/Michael/Mark/Leam, is your mobile telephone set up to receive text messages?”4
-
At least Mark Hudson ticks the box with links to us.
We'd stand a chance of promotion then - Seeing that 1975 (?) was the last time we won something with a Manager, with zero Charlton connections prior to taking on the role.
Bailey (ex-Player) | Lawrence (Reserve Team) | Curbs (ex-Player) | Powell (ex-Player) | Bowyer (ex-Player)
Have been the only successful Managers since.3 -
Blimey.....something we agree on.DubaiCAFC said:Really hope not Appleton
None of the names mentioned by Cawley get me excited. All recent failures. Should be looking at someone with their stock rising, not stagnating.1 -
Not true. Normally she would arrive at work late morning😂seth plum said:Meire would’ve interviewed about fifty by now.1 -
At Portsmouth Cowley finished 10th in his first season and was then sacked in January of the next season with them sitting in 12th.ShootersHillGuru said:I don’t really have an opinion on the Cowleys one way or the other but in the position the club finds itself I’m amazed that people are saying no based on style of football. There is only one priority and that’s to win promotion. Nothing else. I really don’t care how that’s achieved because if we don’t achieve that relatively soon we might not ever achieve it as the football club we know.
They then fell to 15th before Mousinho was appointed and got them to 8th.2 -
No coincidence that Hayes is the end of the line on the trainskillerandflash said:9 -
Cawley has gone public with Appleton and Cowley, but surely they will also interview Richardson if he has declared an interest.1

Would love Bowyer back for many reasons but I think Richardson might shade it as a better appointment.2
-
Not at all inspired by Appleton or The Cowleys. Why do we need to bring managers in who have been sacked and on the way down? Cheap bloody options again. Richardson or Bowyer for me if we cant/won't get Moore.9
-
I think there’s been a huge overreaction to Cowley and Appleton, both have been proven to be decent League 1 managers and more importantly to me i believe are better than Holden11
-
Hockaday is gonna be the day that they’re gonna give the job to you1
-
It isn't really anything against them personally or their careers it is more just it is a clear indicator that this new mob have little ambition and are not prepared to spend much cash IMO.PWADDICK said:I think there’s been a huge overreaction to Cowley and Appleton, both have been proven to be decent League 1 managers and more importantly to me i believe are better than Holden5 -
And see him probably flounder and ruin his association with this club and be forced to move on. He’s on the very steep learning curve of football coaching and I’m sure management will follow but as much as I have a lot of respect for Jason Pearce I really hope he’s not given consideration.ForeverAddickted said:Feels like we're shopping in the League One version of the Managerial merry-go-round... Would rather see how Jason Pearce does with the team, than those two
Didn't do much wrong with the U18s last season.2 -
Not sure if this name has been mentioned here but what about Robert Lee. I would assume hes not interested in a managers job, but people were asking about players with Charlton connections.0
-
Why? I thought we were only looking at managers who have got teams promoted out of league 1.Gravesend_Addick said:Really dull candidates.
We are in cardiac arrest as a Club. A new manager needs to jolt us into life again. Bowyer or Lennon would not be on my list of guests to invite around for dinner, but they would shake it all up.5 -
Feel the same. I'm secretly hoping we have a Kieran McKenna-style appointment in our pocket, but I doubt we're that well-run.ForeverAddickted said:Feels like we're shopping in the League One version of the Managerial merry-go-round... The bucket list of tried and failed Managers at this level.3 -
Parkinson, Slade, Adkins, Garner, Robinson… now Appleton.
It’s like we’re trying to fill the sticker book of drab second tier managers. Will just leave Steve Evans and we’ll have completed the set.22
