It's clear these friends have had a big falling out.ShootersHillGuru said:

Cawley reporting that Darren Moore has declined to comment about an approach or any talks with us. Would suggest Cawley has heard something?16

Challiner is defo not in the running, judging by his post match interview. Their fans hoping we come in for him, doesn’t sound too positive.0

I hope that we have at least sounded out Darren Moore. Not to do so would be criminal even if he knocked us back. Of those available he’s the one I’d want to see get it. His denial makes me think he’s not interested.17

I’m told Alex Dyer was at the game 👀12

Not sure we can conclude anything from it, but I would guess it would make it “Moore” likely he has been offered it.2 -
A return of Powell and Dyer would give many fans, and I’d also say players, a boost.Mendonca In Asdas said:I’m told Alex Dyer was at the game 👀9 -
A 38% win ratio will struggle to get us in the play-offs.alburyaddick said:Appleton’s record as a manager is shockingly awful - I’d take the Cowleys over him any day1 -

Darren moore or powell …. Not sure who i would rather have0

Ok. I think his lack of comment would imply he’s been contacted but not interested. I think Moore an honourable man. A comment that he’s unavailable for the position would put the man who eventually gets the job as second choice. He’d be nuts to take our job. A few months will open up Championship vacancies.Redrobo said:

As I said a while ago, Darren Moore is the only candidate that does not divide the fans.
on that basis alone he should be given the job5 -
I think Moore would be a great choice. We need a bit of know how in our set up and different ways to win matches.0

He had problems with the owner at Wednesday, I'd be amazed if he came here for another dose of problems.Redrobo said:As I said a while ago, Darren Moore is the only candidate that does not divide the fans.

I have decided to not dedicate too much time, to thinking about who is going to be the next short term manager of Charlton Athletic. It will never be who I want and so why get excited or worried, it is going to happen anyway.5

If a manager can’t handle problems he may as well find himself a different career. No manager is ever satisfied with the players he has and no owner is happy unless they are winning. There will always be conflict at some point.ElfsborgAddick said:

If he didn’t want the gig he wouldn’t have gone for the interview.5 -

Chasniri is a very difficult chairman, as unpopular up there as Dushitelet with us.0 -

on that basis alone he should be given the jobNot sure he'd have the same issue. The main players in this appear to be staying well away. Then we have Methven who has kind of said (Whether you believe him?) that he will leave the football stuff to football people. So I guess the only person keeping the manager in check will be Andy Scott? So hopefully he should not have to deal with a buffoon similar to Sandgaard4 -
I would not go as far as “happy”, but certainly not against him, which is important. At least he would be given a chance.NabySarr said:

I am not sure the other candidates would and it would not take much for some fans to turn on them.0 -
I noticed Nathan Jones talking to Maupay in the crowd at Brentford v Bournemouth.0

Their stats can't be hidden but for every manager there's the context behind them to consider. If only managers with high win percentages were offered work, he'd be one of many permanently unemployed.alburyaddick said:Appleton’s record as a manager is shockingly awful - I’d take the Cowleys over him any day
Including interim positions, he's managed or assisted in all four divisions and has been moderately successful in L1 with both Oxford and Lincoln without getting promoted out of it. I don't think he is poorly regarded within the industry though.
Whoever gets it I wish well and I won't be "done" with the Club, but I can't see him finding London and us an attractive proposition. I think it unlikely he'll take it if offered, but it depends how desperate for work he is I suppose.
