Under Pardew we had a few good wins in some big matches, but taken overall he never had a clue how to organise things, often getting lesser coaches to try to sort problems out. He will be salivating that a billionaire is in charge so any pay off will be substantial, and he likes a loan or ten, and scans the Sunday papers for top goalscorers with their clubs at any level, then signs them for double their worth. That said, I am not hopeful about the 12th September, but very confident that Pardew will f*ck it up again.
"It's a fairly new team, but when Brentford had the ball today we looked a lot better,"
"When you're asking players to work harder defensively it takes a little bit away from us when we have the ball"
"I thought we were poor from out wide today and, ultimately, that's not going to give us the deliveries that Lambert wants." then he completely contradicts himself by saying ""Rickie had about three or four deliveries that showed how good he can be if we get them right." So are they not getting crosses in or did Lambert miss 3 or 4 chances?
"As a squad, and with the amount of rebuilding that we're having to do, our pre-season is carrying on into the league if you like."
"We've made steps forward in a lot of areas today, but there are still improvements to be made"
"There was a lot of pressure on us today after the defeat at Swindon and that was in our play at times too, but if we keep that discipline defensively we should do o.k."
Still spouting off the same old sh*t excuses week after week.
AP was back to blaming everyone else after the Birminghjam defeat. Should have had 2 penalties blah blah, no help from the officials whine whine, unfair defeat boo hoo etc etc.
To be honest if the Saints current situation shows me anything it's that a takeover is not necessarily the solution to all of a clubs problems and although the financial stability is important, other things have to click as well.

Very true, a takeover and solving the financial problems is only half the battle, the other half is getting it right on the pitch and Parky looks to be doing a much better job of that than Captain Bullshitter.
If anything, a megabucks takeover can be a negative because it massively increases the pressure on the players and management to get results.
He's got a way to go yet. He hasn't yet blamed the home fans for not making enough noise at home, or complained about away supporters making too much noise. Or do 20 loanees have to arrive first? I really can't remember the order of things.

I just watched the DVD Hammer Horror when Charlton, under Pardont, whipped Curbs' West Ham 4-0 at The Valley two-and-a-half years ago. It was a surreal experience, like that match, and those feelings, never existed.
Oh, and all of the Addicks that played are gone. In some cases, long gone.

One of the few times Thomas showed his ability[/quote]
18 shots, better possesion, 1-0 until the last 10 secs of the game and we conceed against one of the weakest teams in League One.
Pretty annoyed by Saints now, some things never change. Always rocky at the back no matter who we have as manager. We can't finish for crap even though we have one of the best strikers in this league in Lambert. Pardew has 5 games to turn this around for me or I will start to join the 'bitter against Pardew' group.
Total crap, oh well - we will be teams cup final in League Two next season! Woooooooooop.

Mate all the time you have that stale piece of Knob Cheese for a manager I can not feel sorry for your club, I do however feel for you as a fan because he is going to blame you lot next then walk away a hell of a lot richer than he walked in.
Your new chairman profesess to know fedge all about footie, after Pardew he will be 1 hell of a lot more informed of the parasites within it.

Our chairman didn't appoint Pardew as manager, if I remember - we didn't even have a chairman at that point.

Feel for you to be honest. I think Pardew will be moved on and you'll get out of it, but can't see a recovery if the board (do what is usually the correct thing and) stick with him

Cue 26 loanees arriving at southampton all leftbacks
What goes around, comes around...
What like getting a decent manager?
