Really did he do that well at West Ham? I know they were close to winning the cup final, but they had a relatively easy run to the final I think, and I remember us playing them that season around Christmas and they were pony, I'm sure we beat them, They did pick it up in the run-in I remember. Anyway not one to rant and rave at football, but might make an exception if he shows up.

He'll get it in the neck bigstyle
Would be great for parkinson to do the double over him and cleanse some demons.
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]I can't describe my hatred for that man without having to give myself a warning for swearing.
let me do it for you he is a c**t a complete w**ker, who destroyed my club more than dowie could ever have done. I hope the next time he takes it up the arris it gives him a nasty disease of the ringpiece.
I remember thinking he was prob a tosser when I heard he gave some charlton fan a put down when he asked what may or may not have been a stupid question. I once asked curbs a stupid question and he gave me a benign smile and answered it with good grace. You can only be arrogant if you are good and even then it is pretty crappy inmho. I think pardew is a complete c..t. I think all of us including him, thought he was much better to start with than he really was. He made mistakes and learned nothing from them and effectively screwed us over for money when his shit reign came to a sorry end. I can't think of a single redeeming feature about the bloke, just a shame he came here. He's prob far from being the worst person who ever lived but he is prob the most annoying ex charlton manager in existence.
If I was Richard Murray I would be straight on the phone to Southampton tomorrow morning, this must be our chance for salvation, we have plenty of young players with potential, just the type Pardew loves to sign, let me see now:-

Southampton have lined up former West Ham and Charlton manager Alan Pardew as their new boss, BBC Sport understands.
Saints came close to collapse after they were relegated to League One in May before being taken over by Swiss businessman Markus Liebherr.
Previous boss Mark Wotte left St Mary's soon after Liebherr's arrival, and several bookmakers have suspended betting on Pardew taking over.
Pardew has been out of football since leaving Charlton in November 2008.
The 47-year-old took the Hammers to the FA Cup final in 2006, but his spell at Charlton was less successful with the club languishing at the foot of the Championship table when he left The Valley.
Can't believe the league has forced further punishment on Southampton... i assume this is instead of teh extra 7 points punishment that was discussed on here recently?

Will he do what he did with us and try and pick up bargains with limited success?

But the new owners may give him money to throw around and he can do that very well : - )
His strategy at West Ham and here was to buy 7 or 8 players, expect 3 to work out and dump the rest.
I didn't think he was a fantastic manager when he first came and I don't think he is totally rubbish manager now.
Will be interesting to see if he goes for Peter Grant as his assistant again. No doubt some on here will hope he gives Parkinson a call.
Wasn't far off that here either.
And yeah he's not fantastic or rubbish. Will do ok if transfers work out for him. Could never find a goalscorer here once Bent left which didn't help.
He is a muppet of the highest order and a headless chicken of a manager - all spin, no results.
He is one of the major reasons why we are where we are now.
Sorry, but I only have to hear the word 'P*rdew' to get into a seething rage - time to take a quick walk methinks.
Agree 100%, complete t*sser!
By the end of it yes he was rubbish for us, but he went a bit mad buying players we didn't need and didn't fill the right gaps.

A lot rather than some. . . .

Did terrible damage to my club although still ranks lower than dowie and mullary in my most hated list.
Just think that he might do a decent job if its true about saints.

Do you know what Rodders, I would bloody love it if that happened - as long as they're not the only two games we win next season!
On this occasion, I am very happy to accept every word the Anglo-Saxon language can offer. Go for it AFKA.

It'll be fun seeing him deal with a minus 10 start at a skint club.
Wonder if they'll pay for his swish motors?
They wallow together in the bottom-of-the-barrel.
