I know its early in the season and I probably shouldnt have these feelings but I get more satisfaction at the moment out of that lot losing than i do Palace or Millwall.
They can have their 10 points back - he'll still take them down.
C0ck of the first order - hope it takes him three years to get found out properly - would hate to see him collect another bundle for being totally sh1t.
[quote][cite]Posted By: Kap10[/cite]we just so must give him non stop stick at the valley. When weaver came to the valley before we bought him he got constant stick throughout the game, worst I have ever seen - this needs to be surpassed[/quote]
Same with Ronaldo, but he could laugh it off.. Weaver probably drowned his sorrows in the restaurant after the game. :-) oh Pardew will be torn to shreds when he steps to The Valley, if he's still there ;o)
[quote][cite]Posted By: Scoham[/cite]Looking at his comments it's the same sort of things he said here. We need 1 or 2 new players, we didn't have this, our opponents had this etc.[/quote]
So? He is just telling it how he see's it and every Saints fan see's it. Millwall and Huddersfield are two of the strongest teams in this league and I wouldn't be suprise to see Hudderfield in the top 2 come May. With Millwall in one of the Play off places.
I didn't agree with his subs against Huddersfield though, he had no other options though as our squad is very small and lacks impact from the bench - If Pardew's next 3 signings are anything like his last - they will be very good signings for us.
*Oh and to the person who said about the sports director - Pardew knew about it before he joined.
[cite]Posted By: Saints fan[/cite]So? He is just telling it how he see's it and every Saints fan see's it.
That's what we thought, but after a while realised he just picked a whatever he could use as an excuse.
As an example, when he was here, Basey played at left back instead of Youga. He said we missed Youga's pace. Another game, Youga played, and he was talking about getting Thatcher back, as we missed his experience.
He'll blame what he can, even if it doesn't really make sense when you look at what he said after another. He is always looking to add another player to the squad, which at the moment of course you need to do, but in the end it's not a good thing to keep changing the team around. Maybe he's learnt lessons from his time here.
All I'm saying is don't be fooled by him trying to explain why you lost, when he was here there was rarely a defeat when he didn't find something to blame, and a lot of the time he didn't learn from it.
Going to be interesting to see what Pardew does when it comes to picking teams and who he signs.
[quote][cite]Posted By: aliwibble[/cite]Just out of interest Saints fan, how many strikers and how may centre backs do you have on your books at the moment?[/quote]
3 Center backs (Lancashire is awful) - 4 strikers (two don't want to be here).
[quote][cite]Posted By: ct_addick[/cite]Mate the guy is a fcuking tool....you can paint whatever picture you want but he's going to spend your money and achieve fook all.....good luck[/quote] I bet if Southampton are still in the relegation zone in January - After Markus has given him his full backing etc, he will be gone. I don't think we will be in the bottom 3 or in another relegation battle as I don't think we have one of the poorest teams in this league.
Saints fan, one particular speciality of Pards, which was very evident at West Ham, and spectacularly evident when he was with us, is conceding goals from corners and free kicks when the ball is crossed...keep an eye on how he gets defenders to defend in those situations...because up to the point he left us he didn't have a clue how to organise things.

Ha! I can't actually remember the last time we had a defence that could defend corners :(.
Seriously though, since the appointment of Pardew I thought we have defended alot better than we did last season in the last 3 games. I will be 100% behind him and believe he is the right man for the job - like people said - he talks a good game, but what he says and what he does are two different things, I still reckon we will be mid-table this season which I would take.
I think one thing that maybe in Saints favour is the director of football who will give the final decision on transfers and may if strong enough control Pardews more excessive recruitment policies. Of course, this may make Pardew walk or give him ready made excuses ... "how could I get the team to perform when I am not allowed to bring in the players I want!"

Just what he achieved with us...then It'll be next season that he gets you relegated.[/quote][/quote]
Apparently, according to the News of the Screws, Pardew said after the match that Southampton lost against Huddersfield because of what happened last season.
It will quickly become evident that defeats are the fault of anybody and everybody excepting one A Pardew esq and any success is solely because of one A Pardew esq.
[cite]Posted By: sfc86[/cite]I don't like the guy at all to be honest, reminds me of Phil Brown. Have to give him a chance though, tactically I think he's been poor but signings have been spot on so will have to see.
Even a broken watch can tell the time twice per day
[cite]Posted By: Ketman[/cite]To Be fair to Pardew Southampton played a Huddersfield side that will probably be in the shake up at the top come the last few games of the season.

I thought Southampton were also supposed to favourites for promotion?

No - They have mixed his words around I think. He has said a number of times we are two weeks behind all teams in this league (apart from Stockport). Which is very true because of the whole administration bollocks and players not knowing where they were going to be blah blah blah.

I think we are something like 9th favourites for promotion in the bookies eyes.

Oh well, in that case you must be at least three weeks ahead of us, what with all the takeover stuff hanging over us.

Good luck mate, you need 4 wins just to get off the bottom! Cheerio pards you t0sser, league 2 beckons!!
Not as confident as I was about not being in a relegation zone having just got back from Swindon.
The club have let down the 3,000+ supporters who were there tonight, awful performance. No width and we seemed obsessed with hoofball up to Lambert. Still not sure why Pardew is picking Wotton ahead of Gillet! But hopefully Dean Hammond will be joining in time for Saturday.

Super Al is ............ 15 points behind us as it stands today.

He got a draw against Millwall who should be up there in the play offs and lost to Huddersfield who everyone is tipping to win the league!

WOTTON NEEDS TO GO!!!!
NOW!!!''
Familiar?!
