[cite]Posted By: sfc86[/cite]The thing is, it's not just that we're losing, we're getting absolutely d#cked for 90minutes. He's complaining about players, yet has an open chequebook and has had about a month, and STILL hasn't brought in a centre back, which everyone knew was our 100% biggest problem, his last 2 signings have just been central midfielders, the only area we've got plenty of players!
Another thing that rings a bell...
Last season we started off with two centre-backs - mark Hudson and Jon Fortune and then the latter got injured.
Expect a rash of signings, actual and loanees and numerous positional changes as the defenders are shuffled around and in and out of the team in the forlorn hope that a solid combination will magically reveal itself. It won't and by Xmas, if he lasts that long, there'll be one or more players complaining in the press about his lack of defensive acumen. Being an attacking midfielder himself he's happier recruiting players there, and again that rings a bell. Last season for four starting positions (we were playing 4-4-2 then) we had several midfielders too many with some kicking their heals in the stands while the defence was under-manned.
[cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]In some ways I do feel a bit for the fans (the ones that come on here etc). The man is a complete and utter plum - he is just not cut out for football management and he quite clearly is not learning from his mistakes.
Why would Southampton want to employ a manager that done such an utterly terrible job at his previous club?
If you are referring to Strachan I think he wanted some time out after leaving Celtic, maybe he was asked but might have wanted a bit longer out of the game before his next job. A bit like Curbs, perhaps he's being lined up to take-over at some point.
[cite]Posted By: deanovski[/cite]im hoping our DOF can see (if hes still as shit as you all say) pardews faults, thats my hope any way.
Well he has a plan A and that is flawed - too much emphasis on attacking football at the expense of keeping the trap door slammed shut at the back. That might work enough times for him to get a few results. Unfortunately he has no plan B.
[cite]Posted By: Saints fan[/cite]I don't think we will be in the bottom 3 or in another relegation battle as I don't think we have one of the poorest teams in this league.
We didn't have the poorest team in the league last year, it didn't stop it happening.
Saints fans, Pardew will screw your minds and break your hearts. Just remember he is not in it to win football games. He is Bernie Madoffs lovechild, allegedly!
[cite]Posted By: Carter[/cite]
[cite]Posted By: Saints fan[/cite]
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]we are only 18 points ahead of Saints. Ha, ha, ha. Really think Pardoo will take them down and that won't be acceptable as staying up is the minimum they expect. I'd be looking fwd to 12th Sept if I were not on holiday.
If we are still in the relegation zone come end of october - I really doubt Pardew will still have the job.
I can't say I am looking forward to the 12th September - I would feel more confident if you played that keeper again, I can't remember his name though - young lad, made his debut against us (I think) and put the ball in the back of his net. Please tell me he plays often..? :)
Randolph, I don't think he's played since then to be honest (in a league game anyway) no wonder you want him to play, that was the only way you were going to get anything out of that game. Perry and Davis had blinders of games
Davis wasn't in goal, I think Richard Wright was. Good game that - I also remember Euell having a great game.
I have nowt in particular against the saints but I have to say minus 9 and 2 defeats and the manner of the defeats would be worrying me if I was a McMenemyite right now (he was a fantastic Southampton manager!- Pardew has got nothing about him to dig the saints out of this Imo)
Have to say that should make pretty scary reading for Southampton fans. More drivel from Pardew - he sounds like he's preparing for defeat. It makes me cringe and I don't have any affiliation to the Saints.
I was chuffed when he became our manager but I'm so pleased he's long gone now.
Just swap the players names to the names of a few of last year's Charlton players, and it reads just like the pre-formatted standardised Pardew script we are all so familiar with.
Youd think this bloke was a c*nt if you were playing for him... Id be there taking him aside and saying to him "whats your problem, saying we are gonna lose in the press, you flippin D*ckhead"
Apalling, not just man mangement, but team management...... expect another loss Saints fans....
Much better performance against Brentford, we should have smashed them and Pardew cannot take blame for us not winning - the team can. Had they finished their chances we would be on -6 now.
Impressed with his two latest additions of Trottman and Hammond. Dan Harding looks a complete steal.
Still - Draws are not good enough, but I thought Pardew's tatics and team selections were almost spot on. I wouldn't have played Lallana though - doesn't seem confident but at the moment our other two LMs are out injured.
'I'll be looking as much as the fans in the first 20 minutes wondering how it's going to work, because you just don't know until they put on the shirts'.
Really! So you get absolutely no idea from training sessions and have no confidence in your team's ability to follow your instructions.

Football is run by cranks.
History repeating itself first as tragedy and then as farce - except that it's not very funny if you're a Southampton fan.

Whatever happened to Skakel (sp.)? He always seemed to be a player that could be better and should be in a class of his own at this level...

And really people whould start to see that this bloke is utter rubbish at both spending money and building a coherent winning team....
"THEY were in decline and I couldnst stop that"
Bet we here that when Southampton get relegated and he walks away with 500,000 GBP
W*nker
yep, spouting the same old sh*t but just at another club
It makes me cringe and I don't have any affiliation to the Saints.

Saints fans, I almost feel sorry for you. Almost.
;o)
He'll get another payout by the New Year.
Depressing really.
I said that to the missus, i just hope he's out of work for much longer this time.
"Any football person would have Brentford down as the favourites" LOL
The bloke is in ego protection mode...

Still reckon it will be a long season.
