    To be honest, I am so down about Charlton after the 4-0 drubbing from Brighton, I couldn't give a shit - loved watching Di Canio play for us, but not sure he'd be a great manager for us. I'll probably be calling for PP's head at the next game, but I fear it could get worse if he goes.

    I think Jorge Costa would be a better choice but if Parky goes then I think Murray will only go with a British manager.

    Well of course Jorge Costa would be a better choice, but he's managing in Portugal's top division so there is absolutely no chance of it happening.

    I'd love to take a risk on Paolo, he'd make sure we play football and that could be what gets the most out of the likes of Racon and Martin. Certainly think they'd look twice as good under Poyet. Would hate to see a Martin Allen or Blackwell come in and just hoof it up to Abbott/Sodje, we have more cultured players than most teams in the division so we should look to get a manager who would get the most out of them.

    The last 3 foreign managers at this level would have been considered huge risks but they seem to have worked quite well. Poyet has got Brighton top of the league and playing good football, Di Matteo certainly did a good job at MK Dons and is doing alright at West Brom with them 6th in the Premier League and Martinez completely transformed Swansea and now has Wigan 8th in the Premier League.

    Martin Allen was at Brentford for a while and he's an idiot. Totally one-dimensional.

    Being a good player does not make someone a good manager. Nor does being a nice fella. We've had both of those sorts lately. Yes, we can take a risk but who on here is going to say, if it doesn't work out, 'fair enough we took a risk and it went wrong - that's life'. Very few, I suspect.

    Whatever some of you think, there is no way that a huge number of Charlton fans will accept a manager with his political views.

    If you want a new manager try someone else.

    p.s. Yes it really does matter what his views are outside of of football.......

    On Di Canio, I really don't think it would go well. Can you imagine his first day at training, raring to go, especially to see his new teams strikers - his old position. Picture him as he recoils in horror as he witnesses Paul Benson in action. Trust me, it would be a disaster. We need someone who won't be horrified with the standard of football our squad and 90% of other teams in this division are capable of.

    We need someone with experience, this decision is too important now to take a massive gamble. If we were mid table in the Championship with less financial worries then maybe, but not now.
