Don’t think he will be in the plans much longer. Hasn’t lived up to the hype he had. Think that MacLorg will be third keeper

It’s time for AMB to move on but it wouldn’t enormously surprise me if he rehabilitated somewhere else .

Golfaddick gets a fair bit of stick on here regarding his opinion of all things Charlton.

But tbf the last 3 seasons have been total shit resulting in our lowest league position for 98 years.

He has been far more correct in what he says than some of the more optimistic posters on here .
Jeez 45 likes for this. A broken clock is correct twice a day…
The thing is, it’s not about being ‘negative’ and saying we have been crap in recent years - everyone apart from Ronnie acknowledges that.

It’s the constant ‘I’m not going to watch/I’m no longer going to be a Charlton fan’ at the end of posts or the turning everything into a moan even if it goes against a moan he has made earlier.
Everyone’s free to post here as long as what they say is within legal boundaries. If you know someone’s posts annoy you, just skip over them.

Feels like it's all going a bit west with our signings as of the last couple weeks but I remain open to seeing how they perform in a Charlton shirt. Just one more week and we'll have something else to moan about!
according to reports there are no Charlton shirts, were playing in skins with sponsors names in felt tip.

Mannion was second fiddle at Cambridge until getting a chance in the second half of the season so hes no stranger to playing back up, Jones made it pretty clear as well in an early interview about bringing in a first choice plus the fact we've chased plenty of keepers all window. This Arsenal kid sounds like a talent and an international already, cant knock that coming in ahead of you.

At 26 Mannion has made a career total of 98 appearances, sure he'll be happy with second choice in the league and first choice for the cups while still establishing himself for next season and beyond.

Sounds really solid, my best mate is an Arsenal fan and he said he's played a fair bit in pre-season and looked very good, more than happy seeing him back up on the bench for Arsenal, so it sounds like league 1 shouldn't be an issue.

This seems to be a really good move and should save us some wages. Two thumbs up 👍🏻 👍🏻

Hein sounds like a very high calibre signing , exactly the type of player I'm very happy to use a loan slot on. Still expecting Mannion to play all the cups and he'll have known when he signed that NJ always wanted to bring in another keeper.

Might sound harsh but if he's not good enough (and he hasn't been) then why should he feel any animosity?

If this happens, it'll be our best signing probably

He is on £520,000 a year, assume we will have to pay about 50%.

Exactly how Jones said he would be using the loan system, a player that wouldn't be available to us otherwise and is probably set to be one of if not the best goalkeeper in the division.

Arsenal publish salaries on their OS?

If you’re signing Begovic it’s a 1 year deal so may as well get a better player in on loan
and only pay a fraction of his wages as opposed to the whole lot

Mannion would've I'm sure been made aware when he signed that we were also looking for another and initially he'll be No 2.....he's got a decent contract and I'm sure will be our No 1 in years to come

Seems so far what Jones says, Jones does.

We must have the same mate, as my Arsenal supporting mate said the same thing! Easily championship quality.

Arsenal used to do an unusual deal with loans that the more they played the less the loaning club played.

This was the case with Sonogo.  We paid 100% of his wages until he'd played X number of games, then 80% and so on.

No idea if that is still how they do it or what the exact figures are/were but it was designed to give the loan club an incentive to play the player as much as possible.

Sorry, while looking at the OS, it was one of those sites that come up alongside the OS. Obviously not the OS

The Arsenal fans on the cesspit that is Twitter all seem very cross and surprised he’s not going on loan to a championship club because of how highly they rate him.
