Thanks mate, kind of insight I was after. Physicality is the main question mark for me, but cant see Jones going after a soft touchCovered_End_Lad said:
Nearly 100 Championship appearances in the 4 seasons prior to last year. Still only 30, I would say if he stays fit then a very good player at this level. Quicker and better on the ball than Macca.YannTheMann said:
Genuine question, why is Potts being heralded as solid signing for us? Not played much recently and can't say he massively stood out whenever I saw Luton on their rise (admittedly, a handful games outside of playing us). For example, is he definitely an upgrade on Macca???Covered_End_Lad said:Sounds like Potts might be the next signing. Would imagine that one is announced after the next exit.0 -
I still have questions around Gillesphey's mobility on the outside of a back three, and his ability on the ball. With Jones and Mitchell, you have two big "proper" defender types. A Mitchell has looked okay on the ball, Jones is meh, and again, MG I have questions about, and Z Mitchell is very good on the ball but right sided and young.YannTheMann said:

Having a mobile, good on the ball left sider, at least as cover, seems like a good move to me. I could also see that being Edwards, but that takes away from LWB cover. But Jones, Mitchell, Mitchell, Ness, and REG are all pretty much right sided (and right footed). If Potts is signed, I think he compliments the rest of the defense well, and could go straight into the team either Saturday, or for the first home game.3 -
MuttleyCAFC said:I said a few days ago when the deal was a possibility, I am not that desperate for us to get in a 37 year old keeper. Especially one many QPR fans feel is past his best.
So, you think the nice little QPR mob were just trying to help us out with that one...🙄0 -
I was going to suggest Hein a few weeks ago, Arsenal have signed a young keeper and look like signing another from Wolves so he’ll be available now Ramsdale and Raya have returned.1

My cousin the Cambridge fan was quite annoyed when we signed Mannion and reckons he is decent. I also think the criticism of AMB has always been a bit overblown and there are things there for NJ to work with as well as work on.
Goal keeping has been an issue for us for a few seasons now, so hopefully we can find a real quality one to come in a be a proper No.1, but I don’t think it’s too big of a deal if we have to wait a few more weeks to get the right player in. Not totally convinced Begovic was the right one, so not that disappointed he’s not signing.
That being said, I don’t think we can necessarily afford to just park it until January. A loan signing similar in standard/experience to Jed Steer, when we had him on loan in 18/19, to get us through to at least January would make sense.10 -
Drawn a complete blank here, but who is Macca?Covered_End_Lad said:

Presume I've only seen a couple and I don't remember him.1 -
Because there the only teams who can match or better the wages he is oncafc4life said:not sure why we'd let him go to teams who we are likely to be competing with too0 -

Reckon they’re still a couple short. One more £90m+ marquee signing should do itScoham said:https://talksport.com/football/1996329/chelsea-full-squad-goalkeepers-transfer-latest/

Lucas Bergstrom wouldn't be a bad shout , had a loan spell with Posh 2 seasons ago before being recalled in the January window. 6ft7 so no probs with the Height Test.0 -
I wouldn’t be against Petrovic, Slonina or Bettinelli for a season.Scoham said:https://talksport.com/football/1996329/chelsea-full-squad-goalkeepers-transfer-latest/

Depends on who we'd replace him with.AberystwythAddick said:Unless there is a specific person they are bringing in, I don’t think offloading Taylor is a very good idea. He was a very highly thought of player before his injury and by all accounts has had a good pre season.0 -
Perhaps it would be a HP agreement.soapy_jones said:
My German sauce says he is prone to bottling it, especially when the defence is in the brown stuff, but apparently is the daddy when it comes to spot kicks. He has not been playing recently but will ketchup quickly...soapboxsam said:Macronate said:

I believe we are looking at someone but, personally, think it's Mannion's shirt to lose at the moment. The guy we are looking at would probably expect to be first choice so it could be an interesting battle between the goalies. Or would it be a headache having 57 varieties of goalie pick from
. We'll leave that for Nathan to decide
Can't think of a keeper named Heinz.
Thanks for the assist:
Heinz Muller but I can't tell you my Source !
6ft 4in and has been at Hannover, Barnsley and Mainz.
All good; wait a mo ?
Ok stand down; Heinz is now 46 years old and has lost his bottle.
I'm going to have to ketchup with who's available.
Gawd. Is this one of those adding to the sentance games!?4 -

I believe they're paying their youngsters more than our top earner. Lolcafcfan1990 said:

Given that they are likely 3rd, 4th and 5th choices at best I don’t think it’s too far fetched that we could get one of them on loan!cafcfan1990 said:

Petrovic is unrealistic, cost like 15m and played over half their games last year. I’d imagine they’ll cash in on him after the signing of Jörgensen. Bettinelli probably stay as 3rd choice. Slonina isn’t far fetched I agreeCallumcafc said:

Almost certainly and two of those aren’t even youngsters. Eddie Beach would probably be one of our top earnersStarinnaddick said:

Kepa just returned from Madrid on loan. Mental amount of players and money Chelsea spend0 -
During the 2020 lockdown I played a lot of Football Manager. Joe Lumley did a good job for me, after Dillon Phillips got his dream move to Leeds.11
