I would need a bit more information regarding the difference between dressing as a man and dressing as a woman.Major said:
I say, interesting clown comments. How do you feel about men dressed up as women?seth plum said:When people dress up as clowns it makes me wonder about them. Like they think if they wear exaggerated make up, colourful clothes and oversized shoes they are automatically funny, and more worryingly attractive to children!
To be funny you have to do a lot more than dress up, not expect a knee jerk amused reaction just because of your appearance.People being clowns are not so much scary as creepy, not really harmless fun but weird indulgence for the costumed adult.0 -

Clothes are made differently - buttons on different sides, less (or even no) pockets on women's trousers/blazers. Higher waisted trousers for women.seth plum said:

Whatever you think of Jones if he comes in these owners can't be accused of doing it on the cheap anymore42
 -
Jones won't come cheap & would still be seen as a big appointment by league 1 standards.
His appointment would show ambition IMO19 -
Sounds like Jones is the number 1 target, hopefully we can get him in asap this week11
 -
Jones isn't my first choice but I can't fault the owners ambition this time for having talks with him8
 -
Just hope he's in before the window closes. Would surely be a draw to players8

Jones should have the desire to come in and prove himself after the Saints job and show he can do a job anywhere rather than just Luton.
Think it will be good appointment if it comes about, echoing others, it shows ambition.
See what happens from here..4 -

Not saying he would pick but if I was a player I'd rather sign for a club with Nathan Jones as a manager than virtually any of the other clubs in L1. I wouldn't want Jones getting involved in identifying the targets before he's even taken a full matchGravesend_Addick said:fenaddick said:

Nathan Jones would be a great signing.
It would show a real statement of intent from the owners, and as long as he is backed with his choice of players and coaching staff, next season should be full steam ahead.
Happy days.9 -

I thought that the situation had been explained. The manager identifies areas where he would like the squad strengthening and Scott is then responsible for sourcing players in that role? Pretty sure Scott would also let the manager know if he knows of an available player who can fit into a role where it is glaringly obvious we need strengthening in.Gravesend_Addick said:fenaddick said:

Really can't see any manager, including Appleton, agreeing to a situation where they have no say whatsoever on who's coming in.5 -
I am not against appointing him but I would like us to give Fleming a chance first. A two defeats (and some wins) or we bring somebody in chance over February. I think that is the common sense approach. I know some people don't share it but if Jones came in and failed that would fcuk us up. Somebody like him should be the lasp gasp option.11

I'm lead to believe that at least one other manager is being interviewed for the first time today so I don't think NJ is a "done deal" but it seems he maybe a front runner.
"further talks" could mean thrashing out the terms and conditions or them convincing him to come or him convincing us that he's the right man.
He does tick the "knows the club" box (for any Exploding Heads fans) and "Has had success at this level" box along with the "shows passion" box.

Still question marks over whether he can do it away from Luton though.

A team 18th in League One getting Nathan Jones is really impressive. It's just over a year ago a pretty well run Premier League club opted for him as manager. Although it didn't work out, his achievements at Luton are remarkable and I really hope if we give him time, he could do the same here.8

Well I'm just glad we have Scott & Rodwell running things so we can even find these people to talk to.
Without them I guess we wouldn't even get to identify potential candidates.

I don’t mind him having 2 or 3 games if needed but he’s been coaching for over 15 years and aside from a year in India there’s nothing to suggest he wants to be a manager. He even mentioned in his press conference that he’s 55 and knows what he is.MuttleyCAFC said:I am not against appointing him but I would like us to give Fleming a chance first.
