The line was pushed most of August and September when, after the intial purchases, we were still woefully short after releasing 8 players last summer.golfaddick said:

Where was that stated in the summer ??4 -
The only ‘option’ is with Bakinson and that’s because he’s out of contract in the summer so in effect every team in the PL and EFL have an ‘option’ on him.RonnieMoore said:
The point he made was that no longer will we sign young players or players that are just using us to get fit .. only loans that will advantage us going forward like the two we have brought in both with options of signing permanently …if they prove themselves it’s a win winAthletico Charlton said:FishCostaFortune said:Can anyone point to me where Andy Scott said every January signing we make will be a permanent that will be able to go into the squad straight away.
To be honest going on their previous record for loans, I don’t trust either of these to be any good - but I can certainly see Fiorini (if he is) being part of planning for next season which we would be naive not to be doing.
He said at Bromley Addicks meeting he wanted to sign permanent players and wanted ones that didn't see Charlton as the limit of their career but ones that thought they were better but he persuaded to join us and go on our journey... Or words to that effect. The words I think he actually used were he didn't want players who wanted to play for Charlton.3 -
There was a rumour that we was paying Tedic £11k a week, football manager also suggests this (could be bollocks)
So paying JCH this instead will be a slight upgrade…0 -
I wanted to both lol and like this but as I’m still chuckling you got the lol Henners 😉, Oh and does Clive H know he’s won the lottery 😁.Henry Irving said:

Tedic could probably be on £11k at City but I doubt we were paying that much of it.1

His city contract is 15k a week and we were paying the majority so 11k is probably about right. Shocking when you consider how shit he was.MarcusH26 said:Tedic could probably be on £11k at City but I doubt we were paying that much of it.19 -
How does anyone outside management and players know what each player is being paid. Excuse my ignorance but I would think most of the comments are guesses. Someone enlighten me please

Just checking, did he really say that he didn’t want players who wanted to play for Charlton, or did he only want players who wanted to play for Charlton.Athletico Charlton said:FishCostaFortune said:Can anyone point to me where Andy Scott said every January signing we make will be a permanent that will be able to go into the squad straight away.

Yeah I honestly wouldn’t believe the wage structure from Football Manager. I’m a researcher for them and it’s pure guesswork. Tedic is apparently on 15,000 at city and it was put down that we’re paying around 70/80% of that, which I find hard to believeFishCostaFortune said:

We paid Kirk off so that is money spent and Fraser hasn't gone yet.sam3110 said:

Wow that's absolutely shocking. I'm staggered we were paying the majority of his wages given his production. Now potentially paying JCH 10k a week makes a bit more sense in terms of wages available.0 -
It’s not a dead season. The Red Robin said:CBT is out of contract in the summer isn’t he? Would be silly not to cash in and sell him in a dead season. Dobson too really, but can’t see that one happening.Either way, they won’t be here next season and neither will Leaburn.
We sell one of our best players and go down? No thanks.4 -

He said he didn't want to sign players who wanted to play for Charlton.
The inference was that he wanted to get players who felt they were already too good for us but persuade them to join and go on a journey, rather than maybe get players who desperately wanted to play for Charlton because they had no other better offers.
It was a very clumsy way of putting it I thought at the time, especially when you considered that we had not long before signed Alfie May who seemed the very definition of someone desperate to sign for Charlton who probably didn't have any/many bigger (ie Championship) offers but was clearly our best signing of the summer.

Find it hard to believe that we paid this much….or that Barnsley did last season when they had him on loan.Covered_End_Lad said:

Nearer £2k a week feels more about right.1 -
Appreciate the comment.Valley11 said:I don’t know @Braziliance but the guy clearly loves Charlton, is at every game supporting the team and is obviously totally hacked off like the majority of us.
Not keen on the pile on, personally.
Truth be told though I give as good as I get at times (see dig at Swordfish) but it's usually when I've noticed a few posts aimed towards me I chuck a bit back. Generally speaking I don't post to wind people up deliberately or troll, I simply just type how I think and it probably comes across wrong at times as body language and tone of voice are key and I have been told I'm opinionated (but what do those people calling me that know eh 😉)
I assume Lancashire Lads consistent posting towards me has stemmed from me banging on about whoscoreds player stats a fair bit and him being dedicated to stat tracking himself. I have credited Lancashire before on his threads but it is what it is at this point.
There is a gang up culture on this forum at times and subtle digs etc, I've even warned people who have asked me about signing up on here about it. Pretty bizarre when you consider we are a pretty niche club in the grand scheme.
To be compared to RonnieMoore is mental as I am not posting any outrageous claims and truth be told I hate how he gets treated regardless as he's pretty harmless. To have now had a few posters now also claim I don't know what it's like to support Charlton, want them to lose for the sake of my videos or words along those lines is also just absolutely mental. I couldn't think of a worse practical joke than using these forums for 10 years, attending games unless work forbids it and then converting 3 of my cousins to Charlton fans all for a wind up 😂
Anyway appreciate you sticking your neck out for me. Apologies for the clutters again23 -
I could be wrong but I believe that Dobson and CBT's contract situation hinges on the progress that Charlton make. By that I mean, bringing players in to give this club every chance of promotion from this division. They both have a good career ahead of them but another year in this division and their time might be gone. I think that if they see some positive moves then there is chance they will stay, if not, then I wouldn't blame them at all for exercising their option to leave.1

Wednesday's call.
We have signed JCH
We have the 2x loanees
We have signed Bate and Poveda from Leeds
CBT and Dobson have signed extensions.
Would make it a much easier call.

Where have you heard that? As of yesterday, not true but could've things could've advanced since then. 🤞Mendonca In Asdas said:Any truth JCH is having a medical with us tomorrow?

If they’ve managed to agree terms, we’d want the medical in as soon as. Whether he’s agreed terms is the big question.Mendonca In Asdas said:Any truth JCH is having a medical with us tomorrow?3 -
Some bloke on Twitter said that the medical is booked for first thing Monday. Looked like one of those wannabe journo accounts.0
-
Signing players that aren't fit but are cheap really is the Charlton way of doing things the last few years.0
-
Told just now JCH was at the posh game today and spent a long time with the fans chatting and taking pictures, saying goodbye? Could be clutching at straws...ButtleJR said:

I assume Pep hasn't just signed De Bruyne nor managing a team with just 1 win in 10.RonnieMoore said:
Pep has just said he will need to manage de Bruyne mins going forward .. it’s something managers say … people take every word to seriouslygolfaddick said:
As I said last night, he could be the best thing since sliced bread but he wont be playing 90 mins week in week out......which is what we need & what Andy Scott said we would be signing.Braziliance said:
In my view it is mate, I've not aimed it at anyone personally but I am of the view that if you lap up what these lot say, are still finding positives about how this team is playing and still finding excuses for this manager (which I have seen) then I can't understand you as a Charlton fan.JamesSeed said:
I generally share your anxiety about the current recruitment set up, but at the same time I don’t feel I can write off signings like the two we made yesterday without seeing them play regularly first.Braziliance said:
No. For starters, it's relevant to each clubs situation. They've signed players that will probably improve them, I can tell you right now that Armstrong would walk into our side at present and I really mean walk. So for context, a side sitting in 24th has signed a player that that's better than anything we will stick up top today (assuming May is injured)FishCostaFortune said:
Braziliance yesterday you claimed that Carlisle owners are an example of those that ‘give a shit and have ‘clearly been planning for the window opening’ based on them making 3 signings on the 4th.Braziliance said:to those that think people are hysterical for wondering why we haven't signed anyone yet and are concerned we could be in for a bad window, here's what it looks like to be a club who give a shit and want to at least try and turn it around:
Clearly they've been planning for the window opening as Doucher has said you can do, we can't afford to scramble around. If we have played Port Vale and Peterborough without any new faces in, its a bit of a liberty and means there's been no actual plans in place or strategy.
One day later we have now made 2 signings, which is actually 20% of all activity in league one so far this window.Would you now say that our owners ‘give a shit’ and have ‘clearly been planning for the window’?
Or would you say that your comment was not well thought out, and that your current mistrust of the ownership led you to make a baseless assumption?
You want me to get the party poppers out over a pair of low risk loans with no real track record?
I'm just not a happy clapper, I will credit this mob when they show some ambition, until we sign a proper player for money like JCH I'll call it how it is.
If people are happy with these tosh signings more power to them
Edit; planning for the window, are you purposely trying to wind me up with this post? 😂 They're 6 month loans where neither are guaranteed to be here next season. It's the complete opposite of a planning for next season and all the talk of experience and quality is already out of the windowI don’t think that’s being happy clappy.
Edit: to make it clear as well, that isn't a fig on those Charlton fans, as I have time for anyone that supports this club, I more mean I can't get on the same wave length as those particular fans as I am a lot less tolerant to us being this shit
Will we even get to see him play much? That's the big question now
Just same old same old.
Apart from that you're spot on.0
