I think Tedic is the backup plan and Ladapo and Etete are number 1 and 2 on the list, but are a lot harder to finalise. I wouldn't be surprised to see it announced late tonight with a deal sheet submitted early but not confirmed til we know we don't have the other targets
If u r right then this window could be salvageable - no proven striker incoming and we r pissing in the wind
I was hoping that the terrible start alongside Aneke (Not confirmed) having another set-back would be enough to persuade the budget to be pushed out to get a proven striker, but that does not appear to be the case.

  • Happy with things so far. Get Ladapo in and I'm chucking some dollar on a play off finish! 😁

So you wouldn't be happy with May, Leaburn,Tedic,Kanu and the Campbell brother Ched and Tyrese plus CBT (if he is still here) attacking from the wing ?
Not all at the same time obviously 🧐

Get Tedic done now and if Ladapo becomes available late in the evening…
  • First priority with all these players coming in should be a team building experience

Peppa Pig World does some good midweek offers…

Man City striker signed on loan …

fantastic window lost count 12/13 with the keeper ? squad of youth , pace and energy some real competition for places now. Well done to the new owners and Andy Scott for getting these done so quickly in the short time the have been in the role .. now down to the new manager he as the tools top6 the aim COYR
I know he is on the wind up but this genuinely made me laugh
Going to make me laugh even more if it somehow all comes together and these young signings are the second comings of Gallagher, Bielik and Cullen.

I'd be more fine with these loan incomings if they were additions who could flesh out a squad rather than, as it feels, players who we might need to lean on in no small part. And it definitely feels like we'll be seeing a lot of them.

That said, in JRS and Gallagher in recent years, we've had some great loans. We could have others again. We might not. It is miles too early to tell.

What is the average age of the squad, anyone know out of interest and how does it compare to the rest of the league?
23.64 ours is currently which is ridiculous
  • Another transfer window and it’s like an afternoon on BBC1.

We're building a squad the same way I do on FM. It normally works for me!

So the yanks have no money either. Like Sandgaard & ESI before them. Mostly loans & frees with money paid for just May, Taylor & Edun - and some of that was from money we got for selling a couple of players.

All played out just as we were told it would.

I just see Peterboro have an average squad age of 22.9!

  • I wish I could be as happy as Ronnie or as miserable as Goldie, but I'm very much on the fence in regards to judging our window. We definitely need another striker but It's far too early to judge the other incomings

    Has JCH gone anywhere yet?
  • Got to laugh at Cawley having to tweet this - He really stuck his neck above the parapet mentioning Ladapo earlier.

Just as well our caretaker/interim manager is only 35 or he wouldn't understand the banter.

Not really - I think an experienced striker with some physical presence and mobility would help the whole team - a regular first choice up top with May not a load of bits and pieces who might have a good game one week then be injured or having a dip off n form or a growth spurt

Perhaps he's stuck in the Blackwall Tunnel  :o
  • Very odd transfer window. Seemingly looking ambitious with the May, Taylor, Isted and Camara signings early doors and then having a complete change of game plan by signing a bunch of young loan players with mostly limited experience after a string of injuries and a woeful start to the season.

Does not fit at all with a team looking to get promoted out of the division any time soon. We aren't building a squad either as we have players like CBT and Dobson, who are out of contract next year.

Obviously will support the team and hope we can pull something out of the hat but this window has left me very unenthusiastic about our chances - the new owner bounce went flat very quickly.

Apart from May, they have played a handful of games and scored a handful of goals between them. So no.

Yes and that is a key point. Below are the senior players who will still be in contract next summer.

    GK
    Isted
    AMB

    DEF
    Jones
    Edun

    MID
    Fraser
    Taylor
    T.Campbell

    (Kirk)
    (McGrandles)

    ATT
    May
    Leaburn

    (Aneke)

    -

We'll be playing youth players until the end of August again - and the cycle continues.

I'll admit I'm surprised that we're getting a few in. Experienced players who play  regularly for clubs in higher leagues were never our targets and would not come to a club hovering just outside the relegation zone in L1 with no manager anyway. That's the reality of our predicament.

I'm worried that we won't have leaders on the pitch, but if Tedic is next in, I'm hoping a Carl Leaburn / Paul Williams type partnership might develop with either him or Miles alongside May.

Abankwah is the fifth piece of a potentially overhauled back five.

Isted, Watson, Abankwah, Jones and Edun

I'm not usually one to complain overly, and the signings today all look reasonable. However, they are also young, and they are also loans, so our youngsters will generally get a bit of bench time (which given the start we've had may be no bad thing) at the expense of letting other teams youngsters get a start.
I'm quite happy to see how it all pans out before passing judgement, and this all may work out well, but I really wanted to see us buy some slightly older players and build a squad with players contracted to Charlton, and then start letting our youngsters get up to speed. So I'm not unhappy about our business thus far, but there were some good names floating about (Ladapo for example) and it feels as if we went for cheap.

    "Sign more players."

    "No, not those players."
