Anyone that is capable of giving the club a lift is welcome!
There are only probably two people that could do it, One being Curbs but that has already been ruled out, The other being this man, He transformed us in his one season here, look how the players reacted to his presence, We don't have a team full of premier league has beens we have football league players that will be as mesmerized as i was back in 2003.
No doubt in my mind if Paulo got the job every single one of us and everyone associated with Charlton will be given that lift that has been required for a few months now.0 -

If you listened to him making the announcement , it was very interesting because he's a rabid, right-wing free-markeeter and so it went completely against the grain. Hence there was a long preamble in which he said 'I believe in the free market, it's the best solution 999 times out of a thousand, under normal circumstances I'd never countenance this, blah blah blah...'
Then he said : 'But these are not normal circusmtances. We stand on the brink of total catastrophe' - and he effectively announced the semi-nationalisation of GM, Chrysler and Ford, a move that even a few months ago you would have dismissed as less likely than Elvis being found alive living in a Routemaster bus on Mars.
Well, that's where we are right now, isn't it? Under normal circumstances, you wouldn't let mad bad Paulo anywhere near the manager's desk at Sparrow's Lane. But these are not normal circumstances. We stand on the brink of total catastrophe etc etc etc...

Would love this to happen. So what if he hasn't got the experience, just his manner and reputation will be enough to improve us. What managerial experience did the likes of Southgate, Di Matteo and Paulo Sousa have before taking their current jobs? Klinsmann and van Basten went straight into national team management without experience.

Now Phil has been given the managers job I doubt we can even afford to sack him. He is with us for the rest of this season I'm afraid. 18 league games without a win....I can't tell you all how low I'm feeling about my club. :-(0

I wouldn't want him to come to us now in a championship relegation battle but maybe in the summer if we get relegated or even stay up!0

Of course it's too late to stay up. But the board needs to do something - even if it's only a gesture - to get the fans back on side.
If not PDC, they need to come up with something else to show they still care, despite the fact that all they really want to do is sell the club on.
Otherwise I thnk the atmosphere at the Valley is going to turn very nasty over these remaining nine home games.0 -

Board wouldn't take such a risk. Another club might and it could turn out very well or be a huge mistake.0

Should have invited him over as guest of the club at a match.
Introduce him to the crowd at half time for old times sake, gauge the crowd's reaction - if there was a pronounced buzz, it'd lift the crowd, which (hopefully, okay just maybe) lifts the team.
Sow the seeds, if it was right it could be nurtured - and PDC could make a positive impact in some way at some pertinent time.
If all went flat at half time, then a polite clap like Charlie Wright and Billy Kiernan got.0 -
But where is the evidence that: a) PDC can manage a football club, b) he has the slightest interest in this football club?0
