Me and my mate both were successful and got 2x tickets for the first show in Cardiff and the last show in Dublin. Had to pay £440ish for each ticket.
I’m conscious a lot of people missed out so I don’t want to brag about it too much. That first show in Cardiff though…That crowd is going to go absolutely nuts the moment the brothers walk out on stage. I’ll probably be emotional myself. Finally got my favourite band back.
Genuine question, not a dig - why both? Will likely be the same gig twice, no?
My friend was trying for Dublin, whilst I was trying for Cardiff. We both got to the end of our queues around about the same time and that’s how it ended up that we both bought tickets. Probably within a couple of minutes of each other and only realised we done it when we got on the phone to tell each other our news.
Still have the option to resell at face value one of them if we want to. Would probably be the Dublin gig of the two I imagine.

Maybe/maybe not, but they’re certainly specialists in making the experience stressful enough for people that they will feel the need to spend more than they intended to. The whole queuing system is designed to build enough anticipation / anxiety so that when the magic moment comes people will feel the need to just take what’s offered.
Stan Collymore made an interesting comment on it earlier on Twitter, saying that it feels fairly similar to the tactics used by gambling companies to keep people engaged with their wallet at hand.
The pricing demand pricing is outrageous. However, Ticketmaster have come out and said 'they don't set the ticket prices - if this is true, who does, where does the blame lie?
Oasis. They chose to have surge pricing. Others like Springsteen don't.
Like I said eye watering prices and there is a definite trend towards similar with a host of other bands. This is the ultimate in cynical exploitation based upon two people, who clearly loathe each other, one of whom is getting an expensive divorce. The reports that the same agencies were trying to get the Smiths (absolutely loved them) to reform just underscore this. Good on Johnny Marr for squashing that (get help Morrisey). Surge pricing is simply obscene and demonstrates just how exploitative the band and the agencies have become
Only ever been to one stadium gig I’ve enjoyed and that was Muse (spectacular show) standing just back from the stage. When you have to use binoculars to see the band where is the fun?
I loathe the 02, although have been to many good gigs there, and hate the plain old exploitation that’s has developed. Silly money for parking, drinks food, sitting politely etc
Far prefer the Brixton Academy (last was Mastodon) especially the Roundhouse (Killing Joke) Most recent gigs were x 2 Jazz in the Preservation Hall New Orleans - tiny venue a far far more fun
In future I’m simply not prepared to shell out silly money to see effectively has been bands, no matter how much I like them (except Rush with a reborn Neil Peart).
I’m going to start going to smaller gigs with newer bands

The biggest positive of today was I was sitting at the game when the wife messaged that she’s got all 4 of us decent tickets for Edinburgh. We’re making a week of it as we love Edinburgh.
Keep going people, tickets will start seeping out especially after the next dates are revealed.
Did anyone on here pay the advertised price for category of ticket they got? e.g. £206 (+ booking fee?) for the most expensive category for a ticket without promo stuff?
Yep! £155 total. Never gave up on Gigs and Tours. Fuck Ticketmaster, their dynamic pricing, and their monopolising.
Probably not relevant to this thread but i was lucky enough to see Oasis with Bluetones and Shed Seven for a fiver at the Venue @ New Cross in 1994. Also saw Simple Minds and The Monochrome Set there as well as Half Man Half Biscuit, Theatre of Hate and Helmet and many others at the same Venue, any one who is lucky enough to get at ticket for the up coming Oasis shows is in for a treat, will be a gig to remember.

Yeah fair enough. Personally I find the tickets to be extortionate and the surge pricing that Ticketmaster if now instigating to be frankly immoral and I wish people would just say no and not buy them because that’s the only way we as consumers can seize back control of the market. But I also understand life is about experiences and to some people it’s worth it at any price. Not for me though.
Although my wife is out tonight with our daughter having paid ~350 quid to see Pink and I flew home from Canada for a weekend just to see the 2019 play off final so I’ve been known to blow a lot of dosh on something irrational. The problem is, and its a toothpaste out of the tube now, type of problem is the social media frenzy that drives people to pay 3 times the price for standing tickets to an Oasis show. The dopamine rush that you have gotten something that a lot of others are desiring is huge but then drops off and the post high drowsiness sets in, you look at hotels to avoid the awful experience at the Wembley stations post event, they are all 4 figures now, the idea of getting back and having to sprint for the last train, on a Wednesday night to get home isn't as fun as getting to the front of a virtual queue and buying 4 x upper, upper tier tickets was.
These tickets will be on twickets fairly soon, I could have got ACDC and Springsteen tickets at face value (Springsteen already was to be fair) and ACDC if I'd had gone to the stadium ticketless and bough them outside. There will be groups where 1 person hasn't showed or a couple haven't and you will be able to hardball them and go in at the same time as that group. Touts are one thing and there was a kind of honesty to them as you knew you could stand on the opposite pavement watching the clock and pay next to bugger all for them as the show was about to start or play the game they want you to play which is pay twice the door price and get in to see some shit support act warm up for the warm up act.
Dynamic/surge/demand pricing is just profiteering no two ways about that.
I've seen them loads of times and spoke previously about how aggro the crowd was thenlast few times I saw them and them breaking up when they did was a blessing. No more airborne piss at gigs. My wife has never seen them live and id like her to experience them live. Anyone who was young in the 90s knows them and to varying degrees are fans even those who claim to much prefer Shed Seven, Deftones, Pearl Jam or Faith No More. So this was always not just going to be a nostalgia trip to beat all nostalgia trips but the 2 generations of people who adore their music and the overall chorus writing ability of Noel Gallagher but have only seen his high flying birds (and I can promise those shows whilst awesome are a galaxy away from a full dat Oasis gig) will be dying to see them live and taste a sample of what the mid to late nineties felt like
From what i've read online Ticketmaster can't do the 'in demand' price surge thing without permission from the artist or the artists management, so Oasis should be aware of this.

Someone mentioned earlier that Bruce Springsteen didn't do it for his UK gigs. But he apparently did do it for his US gigs, the prices were extortionate, he faced a huge backlash over it, so then didn't do it for tickets sold here.
If people queue for something for so long, many will pay any price to get it over with. It is only later when calmed down and reflecting they might ponder on whether it was worth it or a rip off. I am not a member of Udder taxis, but doesn’t their price go up and down according to demand and suchlike? It looks to me like Oasis have played the perfect capitalist game and set their price according to demand.
Wife's just got a couple of tickets to see oh-aces next April at The White Rock theatre Hastings along with the Absolute Stone Roses and The Joneses (Smiths tribute) just £17.80 a ticket....obviously not the same as seeing the real thing but a lot cheaper and a lot less hassle (35 min walk to get there).
Dynamic pricing IS the bands and decision and theirs alone. Ticketmater facilitate it, the band must request it. I am not sure why anyone is surprised as this is a clear cash grab and they are doing it purely for the money, no other reason.
I have seen oasis 5 times, only one of them any good. The crowd increasingly ruined their latter gigs as the quality of the music decreased. Imagine what people will be like now having paid 250+ for the ‘experience’.

I have probably seen Oasis 40 times all over Europe and never failed to get a ticket
