Kanu would seemingly be 6th choice when Miles is fit behind Ahamde, Miles, Chuks, Godden and TC, a loan where we can recall him (ideally this is to the top of the national league) would probably be best for all involved1

I think Kanu deserves more than a national league loan. He did well last season and doesn't look out of place in L1Marriott110 said:Kanu would seemingly be 6th choice when Miles is fit behind Ahamde, Miles, Chuks, Godden and TC, a loan where we can recall him (ideally this is to the top of the national league) would probably be best for all involved25 -
But what’s the point of Kanu being 5th choice we might as well use Hylton as 5th choice and allow Kanu to get more playing time .. surely makes senseScoham said:
Only have to compare their records last season to see Kanu would offer a lot more on the pitch than Hylton.RonnieMoore said:
Well Hylton still at the club so give him 6 month contract and send Kanu outDizzle said:

That is the dilema for the club.
Give him a L2 or even L1 loan to help him develop but no recall till January v NL loan where he'll shine but not be as tested but we can recall him6 -
You are right Ronnie. Young players need game time and that game time should be in someone's first team. I would suggest that Zach Mitchell, Nathan Asiimwe and Daniel Kanu are all in that position.RonnieMoore said:

We don’t need Hylton when Ahadme, Godden, Campbell, Aneke, Leaburn and Dixon would still be ahead of him if we loan out Kanu. He’d be 7 or 8th choice which is a waste of budget.RonnieMoore said:

Think if Kanu was available you'd have most of League 2 on the phone. Maybe even some lower L1 clubs?5
-
I think it will be very important to choose the "right" club if he does go on loan. He's beyond the level where he'd benefit just from being in and around a squad, if that's the plan keep him here. He needs to be doing what he did at his last loan where he is actively playing and scoring.Henry Irving said:

have any set backs so we need Hylton as cover it’s precaution0 -
A risk to send Kanu out on an EFL loan when Miles won't be back for a couple of months, and Chuks is Chuks.
And he's way too good for the NL now.5 -

and yet we still can only score one goal.MintoHumbugs said:So much riches up top. Gone are the days where you hope Josh Davison is fit so you have a natural striker to play.2 -
No point in Kanu going back to the NL on loan, if we’re worried about not being able to recall him if he goes to L1/L2 then he shouldn’t be going out on loan in the first place if we’re worried about being left short.
Another way to look at it is from a developmental point of view. Look at Rak-Saki he was never going back to L1 after the season with us, the same should apply to Kanu it would be a backwards step to send him back to NL.8 -

Other than in a coaching role I cannot see any reason why we need Hylton.RonnieMoore said:

Wouldn't bother with Hylton , felt more like a mate helping NJ out for preseason than anything serious. We've got Casey and Mbick we can use in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy and no one is going to have 6/7 senior strikers on the books. Would rather the budget was used where we need it.4 -
Ameke is unlikely to start games, and Leaburn isn't fit yet.Marriott110 said:Kanu would seemingly be 6th choice when Miles is fit behind Ahamde, Miles, Chuks, Godden and TC, a loan where we can recall him (ideally this is to the top of the national league) would probably be best for all involved
So he's possibly 4th choice for 3 spots. And that's before you factor on the fact Godden has had niggles already, and that Campbell is new to the position and it might not work out.
Can see Kanu getting plenty of minutes for us, I'd not loan him out.6 -
I think Kanu will start a lot of games , as he did last season . There are question marks over all 6 strikers in terms of either ability, form or fitness. He was anonymous against Birmingham but he did well last season and is totally reliable in terms of fitness .1

Was impressive at The Valley for Birmingham in the Championship but didn't push on. Probably too much of a luxury player for NJ.MuttleyCAFC said:Watching Notts County v Grimsby and County's Dan Crowley looks a bit of a player.0 -
If we bring in a midfielder who's a real goal threat then would be ok with Kanu going to a decent loan.
Ahadme
Godden
Dixon*
TC
Leaburn**
Aneke***
Goal scoring mid
Is plenty of options to grab a 1-0 win
*Sparingly
** Once fit
***Until injured0 -
With Dixon as another option we also don’t have to play 2 up front. Could easily switch to a 3-4-2-1 and play with any 2 of Berry/Dixon/Campbell in the 2 behind the striker. Would also allow Dixon and Campbell to get out wide where they are bestCL_Phantom said:If we bring in a midfielder who's a real goal threat then would be ok with Kanu going to a decent loan.

Doubt we are looking to add goal threat from midfield though. That’s what Docherty and Berry are here for. More likely to be looking at a Taylor replacement to compete with Coventry, and then maybe some creativity or physicality (probably the latter as it’s Jones)2 -
Casey and Mbick no where near ready first team yet .. we have no need to throw them in the deep end this season these two has could do with loans to Nat league or Nat League South … can never understand why we don’t set upMarcusH26 said:blackpool72 said:

agreement with Welling to send our younger players too ? for the next stage of their development1 -
From Gallagher’s transfer, we will get £180,000 as a solidarity contribution. We will also receive compensation for the cost of his training and education for a season, but I can’t be bothered to calculate that yet.13

Not to be sniffed at in league 1. Lookman and Gomez on top would be brilliantFoxycafc said:From Gallagher’s transfer, we will get £180,000 as a solidarity contribution. Don’t think so as he’s moved between English clubs. Believe it applies when players move between clubs in different countries.Starinnaddick said:
