That would definitely be a signing worth waiting for I have to say. Would cost a fair wedge as well so if true speaks a lot about how important an experienced GK is seen as to the team.
  • The keeper I have been banging on about for a couple of years just joined Leyton Orient on loan.  Shame, I really rated Zach Hemming 2 years ago but he's not made his way through at Midlesbrough.

Not interested in Dillon coming back - not of the standard we need and hardly ripped up trees since leaving us managing less than 50 games in 4 years

    Is he any good though?
The important question is has he ever played for Luton ?  :#
  • Great signing on paper. Was a top keeper in his prime, near the end of his career now, but was first choice for a Championship side last season, and it seems he chose to leave QPR rather than them releasing him.

37 years old but passes the height test. Reckon Isted must come up to his ribs
  • Begovic is 37 though...

Buffon played into his 40s and besides even if we only got a year out of Begovic (and he hopefully helps us get promoted) we would likely be able to attract a better calibre a league up

OK for a keeper though. Was he at Stoke with NJ?
  • Good for the younger keepers to learn from, which is important. That seemed to be the plan where Mannion is concerned at least

No left Stoke in 2015. Nathan Jones didn't go there till 2019.

no, he was on the south coast

All signings are on paper aren't they?
whether or not football is played on grass

So is Messi and I reckon he'd still do a job for us.
    Until he'd be crocked...
  • He was also in the Championship team of the year that year (22-23) and won the efl golden glove with 20 clean sheets from 43 league starts.
    Wow…..now that IS impressive.👍🤞
  • Bit of smoke regarding Begovic, and for what it's worth, I think it's a goer.

Real decent signing. Saves some cash, should be more than good enough for this level, experienced and a real presence in goal which we have missed.

I still think we need more, but I'll be very happy if it's Begovic, which I think it may be.

He won't come cheap, hefty signing on fee I'd imagine too.

Will be cheaper than spending a transfer fee and paying wages. I can't see us shelling out crazy wages as we aren't that type of club I don't believe.

It should mean some transfer budget left elsewhere, if it goes ahead.

That makes you about up to his kneecap doesn’t it?

QPR fans seems very split in their opinions on Begovic. But it's clear he's come in for a lot of criticism there.

  • Anyone know how he got on at QPR last season?

    Was their team captain too.

37 so obviously a short-term fix, hopefully they have an idea for the long-term option in the following seasons.

Asmir Begovic is 37 but could still have two season left in him. Passes the height test at 6ft 6 in and was born in Trebinje which is now Bosnian. Fled to Germany at 4 years  because of the war and then later his family went to Canada and from 11 to 17 playing for a  team in Edmonton. After having caps for Canada U20 he changed back to the country of his birth and played for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Asmir is married to a blond American who is an Equestrian, has two kids and is multilingual.
Well travelled keeper who has had big moves to various big clubs and has 393 league apps and only 27 while on loan to sides outside the two top divisions.

PLEASE IGNORE THE ABOVE IF ASMIR BEGOVIC DOESN'T SIGN !

They all sound like pricks to be fair
Yeah, bear in mind they're almost the most abused fans in the EFL. Probably not quite down there with us mind
