Well if he signs for us he automatically becomes good and my Coventry reserve keeper specialist mate will tell me we’ve signed a great one there and all his mates are disappointed he left and the recruitment team have all been shoddy in not keeping such an outstanding prospect.
Wilson and Isted are not the same. Wilson has significantly more experience than Isted had. Wilson has played 104 games in the last 4 seasons for a team in the Championship, including 47 in the season before last.
Isted had played 22 for a team in League One, and 44 games for teams in non-league.
If we sign a first choice GK then I’m sure it will be someone that’s an obvious number 1. We’re unlikely to be looking to sign potential or someone on the way up because we’ve already done that with Mannion. Hes our punt for the future and Isted and AMB are not considered to be that by Jones, and one at least will depart. Looks to me as if we’ve been targeting the right sort of player but our lowly status and financial restrictions and a bit of bad luck have worked against us. I’m sure that we will get that player once the PL are sorted for squads and The Championship have picked up the PL loans.
Jack Bonham could be another option - Stoke have signed Viktor Johansson from Rotherham and Bonham could be second/third choice. Ex Gillingham though....
I hope it isn't. He was great for us but hasn't pulled up any trees since. Reputation of former players usually goes up when they've been away and it's so rare that they can live up to it. I'd rather my memories of him are from a successful time rather than him coming back and not quite being what we need.

If we can get Wilson he would be a good signing.
Someone hinting at a GK signing on X?
