Might be toooo much of a stretch but Vaclav Haldky has just left Ipswich as a free agent......... he couldn't agree new terms with IFTC...... and he's been linked with returning to the Scottish Prem...... Now he'd be a statement of intent........
Sounds like he has a good record with a couple of promotions under his belt with Ipswich, will he drop back to league one...not so sure, but interesting one to keep an eye on...👀

Yes, he might not want to drop down as far as L1 but I live in Suffolk and tonight the ITFC fans I know were all saying what a big shame it is he's not going to be with them any more He's 33 and a free agent so not completely out of the question we could come up with the right deal...... who knows..... maybe...... fingers crossed.......?

He's not turned down a contract at Ipswich to join us that's for sure.

I don’t think we can complain at the business done so far the owners are certainly backing NJ. I don’t follow other clubs transfers really but surely only Birmingham can match what we are doing in terms of backing ? If we don’t have a decent season I’m not sure anyone can blame the ownership
Rotherham have had a good window as well. A yo-yo side anyway but with Evans now in charge they'll be tough to beat, Clarke-Harris will score goals and i'd be amazed if they're not in the promotion mix.

Rotherham will be up there , no real wow signings but you just know Evans will have them hard to break down and well versed in the dark arts , if they can get JCH firing they'll be right in the promotion mix. They'll be far from pretty to watch but Evans sides have never played good football.

Like he did last season?
Yeah, he made Stevenage tough to beat and they finished comfortably in mid table after coming up from L2. He was nominated for manager of the year and only went back to Rotherham in April after they had already been relegated from the Championship.

I presumed he was talking about Clarke-Harris, who even then still got nine goals last term
One of the problems we have had with previous manager's is that when they arrived at the club they had to make do with a coaching staff that was in place. I think it's vital that a manager has people around him that he knows and can trust. NJ seems to be bringing in the players and coaches of his own choice. This can only be a positive imo.

Would have been our second highest scorer.
Most of those came from subs appearances. He hardly played as they’d already had his replacement in before he decided to run his contract down.

If you're talking about JCH then he barely started but he still averaged a goal every 174 minutes. In comparison May averaged a goal every 150 minutes for us.
If you scale that up and work on the assumption he will start most games for Rotherham then that is over 20 goals in a full season.
I don't get this paranoid fear of bloody Wrexham all of a sudden...🤷♂️
It's not a fear of Wrexham ffs. It's a tongue in cheek comment, on the scenario of facing them in the the Play Off Final, in view of the fact our best player from over the last couple of years and club captain has just signed for them under strange circumstances.
Add to that Elliott Lee, who got goonered by us, to then go on and immediately do so well there.
But regardless of the above, they've just come up, and it would be a typical Charlton thing to do to finish 3rd and play 6th place at Wembley, to then let them, the underdog, win (even though they're at 7/2 and we're 5's to go up).

The comment wasn't aimed at you Gribbo, I didn't quote you did I... It is a general comment regarding Wrexham within not just this thread, but others, don't take things so personal mate...😉

We've never lost a play-off final so if we make it that far history would be on our side.
However, our record in play-off semi-finals is only 50% so that is the time to fear who ever we play, assuming to we miss out on automatic promotion : - )

Pedant alert but rest assured we won't be playing the 6th placed team at Wembley if we've finished 3rd.

Do believe Nathan Jones would give his right arm to appear in Play Off Final as would the owners.
