March looks rough with the away games but if Nathan can't get us to beat 3 of the bottom 4 clubs then we deserve to get relegated.
My concern is more will he stay with us if he can't perform a miracle and we get relegated? Plus and more importantly will the main money men in the States decide to bail out as well?
Because we're Charlton this could be a distinct possibility.
I really hope it doesn't get to that situation but this season as many lifers have said has been coming for over 10 years at least.
If we get relegated I think he would be on his way (sacked) or pay off clause written in to contract.
Think this is going to be harder than he thinks,is he the right person for job? We will find out soon enough.
There is more in this team then they have been producing Just needs the right man in charge to give the right direction & just having him in charge will boost the confidence in the players no end
Nathan Jones’s priorities: 1. To avoid relegation to L2 2. To keep us in L1 this season 3. To prevent us from being relegated to L2 4. To keep us out of the bottom 4 in L1 5. Etc.
considering none of them are on the table then he passed already …
his main objective this season to get top half finish ..

The decline started 18 years ago under Richard Murray … the owners know this is going to take time to get right not just on the pitch but off it as well there not been a stable structure at the club for many many years …. we won’t go down .. but I dint think it would make much diff if we did to be honest cause we would still be rebuilding the squad and club and you can easy go through league one if we get that right .. but that’s not an issue we will stay in league one our performance at Blackpool second half and yesterday are not of a side going down .. we need one of two back and we need to find that system that’s sorts the players we have . Jones likes diamond and 433 so will be interesting what he goes with next Saturday
I blame WW2 myself… or Thatcher… or Blair. If only each season started with a clean sheet in terms of points.
I have made my own fears about Jones pretty clear on previous posts and I have not changed my view just because he’s now ours. Contrary to the majority opinion (everyone needs a Messiah) I fear that he could turn out to be a clown who will crash and burn spectacularly and be a laughing stock along the way. What I will say is that it is a brave appointment that shows a lot more gumption from the Board than the cheap options such as Appletwat and Holden. He won’t come cheap and he is high risk. There is a chance that what we will get is a more humble version like the one who did the business at Luton rather than the jumped up egomaniac who failed miserably at Stoke and Southampton. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that both of those appointments were disasters waiting to happen for anyone.
Despite my views, he has my support. This is a vital appointment. Oblivion awaits if he gets it wrong. Moreover, it was not obvious where else the club could have turned. One thing is for certain, the structure of management was not working and if Jones has insisted on being “manager” then fair play to him. It remains to be seen whether that will work in practice however. The club is on the precipice so this appointment simply has to work. For that reason alone NJ has my support and I very much hope that in a few months I am eating a large slice of humble pie.

Are you saying relegation isn't possible? Have you seen the league table?
I didnt think we would convince him to take the job to be honest.
I'd have been over the moon with Rowett or Neill and thought Jones would have been pie in the sky so happy with the appointment
From memory his teams were horrible to play against, very high energy and physical, shift the ball quickly and I really hope he is backed to kick our squad full of day dreamers right up the arse and get them doing what they are told to do.
He knows the club, I think that's important with us, he is as passionate as they come so will please anyone who likes to watch the manager during a game. For me I would love us to take on his style of football and fully buy into it, it will suit, off the top of my head

Confidence for the players will flow directly down from how confident those players are in the leader and direction. One thing I know about Jones is that he has an abundance of confidence in his own ability. That will feed into the players. An early victory will actually work wonders. Let’s start next Saturday
I certainly didn't want him, but now he's here I wish him ALL the very best He has one big advantage over recent predecessors, a decent squad including lots of newcomers who he can organise and influence as he likes As ever, we will see
Seems a decent appointment compared to the countless who have preceded him. He certainly has got his work cut out for him, but I wish him all the best.
I'd like to think Jones's character is strong enough to overrule Scott's stance on Dobson and raise the salary offered in order to keep Dobbo.
Pretty sure @DubaiCAFCalready said the club have offered Dobson what he wanted, apologies if it was someone else on here on who said that. For all we know Dobson may have been waiting for the managerial appointment and to see if Jones wants him.

I think you are right not to get too excited Lincs. I saw things yesterday that worry me greatly. We know we have a defensive mistake waiting to happen in every game but now we the added worry of not scoring at the other end. We may have been one dimensional by relying on CBT to open up defences but with him gone we now have just 16 games to find a different way of playing and I saw nothing yesterday to convince me that the change will be easy.
Give him time even if it means a few defeats. Alex Ferguson was a disaster at MU for half his first season, got rid of the deadwood, and then nailed it. A culture change is necessary here.

Well I like the idea as Manager once again.
Wonder what Andy Scott’s position is now.
As for the rest of the SMT you are earning money from Charlton , do your work or leave.

Nothing announced on Fleming or Jones' back room team.
We very rarely do. I know other teams announce the back room staff at the same time but not us.
reports saying jones wants to bring it hart and cohen (I think I've got the names right), interesting to see if Fleming stays, or jones only gets one of his team. Or maybe we will have a team of four

If relegation is on so are the Play offs then , still enough points to play for .. but no relegation not an issue when you look at our performance yesterday and second half at Blackpool there’s a good team there .. hopefully Jones is the man to make it click I think he may be lucky with key players Camara and Aneke set to return as well

Sacking Jimmy Seed was the final straw for me.
...Keeping us in league one is enough...🙄
Here’s hoping Nathan brings in his own team and most importantly, hits the ground running.

Failure to adhere to Nathan's orders then whatever league we are in next season he will clear out a load of dead wood.
I'm not entirely sure but at Luton after surviving relegation I think he got rid of 10 or 11 players at the end of the season.
The players are on notice now.
