At last a bit of common sense, a Manager and no more Head Coach nonsense. Jones knows the club too so doesn't have the feel of an outsider coming in where I mentioned one failed play offs campaign is the best we'd done since Curbs.
This is as good an appointment the club can have made and in the manager role too, absolutely chuffed with this. I ideally wanted Bowyer but certainly more than happy for the club to give Jones a chance and think we all, club and fans need to get behind and stick with him for the long term now.
Keep up us up. Assess what we need. Get it in place and gelled ahead of next season's campaign and be competing in the top 6 from August and for the rest of next season.
In terms of formations he’s often used a 4-4-2 diamond or 3-5-2, both of which this squad is most suited to with the recent signings and lack of wingers.
Hope he tears our existing bunch of feckless freeloaders a new one, gets the newbies playing and then I can get back to potentially being happy at 5 o'clock on a Saturday, rather than being resigned to disapointment and abject self loathing for supporting Charlton.
Welcome Nathan Jones..."You been gorn far too lorng!"
I would be surprised if Jones has not watched some videos of our games and still interested. Probably hoping that as we have practically changed the team it could be better
Also he might have thought “I wonder if this lot would perform differently if players were playing in their actual positions” and also if they would perform better if the bloke on the touchline took his hands out of his pockets and attempted to look like he gives a fuck !
Players playing in their actual positions . That was one of Nathan’s problems at Southampton he didn’t do it.

Welcome home Nathan Jones!
Instil mental strength in the squad if possible.
A few lengths of A4 I reckon
Nathan Jones TO DO LIST:
1. Keep us in League One this season.
2. Establish a clear style of play that is a) successful and b) good to watch.
3. Get the defence and defensive midfielders working together cohesively.
4. Get more creativity in the attacking third.
5. Ensure that the gaps and imbalances in the squad are addressed in the summer.
6. Get Dobbo to sign a new contract.
7. Build a team that will at least get into the League One play offs next season.

Welcome Nathan Jones..."You been gorn far too lorng!"
b) is really not essential in our predicament. After years of failure I would happily forgo attractive football for success.

Trust he has learnt from his mistakes.
