Then you've got the wrong end of the stick. Like everyone else, I'm not content with being 14th and want better but we can't do that with Sandgaard at the club. The window could have been better but it could have been worse. We've got AMB, Ness, Dobson, Fraser, CBT and Leaburn at the club. We've got some decent players, even if the squad is a little thin and reliant on those mentioned to stay fit.
This window will not determine the future. We exit this window in a much better position than when we entered it (results wise). We all want better but this month was never going to achieve that. Until we get a new owner, this is what we're going to experience. If Sandgaard is here in the summer, we're going to be in the shit because we're going to lose some key players and replace them with dross. That's my point today, that hasn't happened. We're brought in Bonne to replace Stockley, not Leaburn. Kilkenny is replacing McGrandles, not Dobson.
The time to be concerned will be the summer, because that is what is going to impact how we fare next season, not today.
Saturday showed the gap between us and a decent playoff team, the sort of gap which you can't close in January.

No its not. Its really, really not. A BETTER squad is what we needed. A more balanced squad. Problem is, we still do, as is always the case under Sandgaard. The only player who is an actual loss is O'Connell. Every single one of those others was not good enough this season and wouldn't miraculously become so in time for the next one.
Is the squad very thin? Yes, definitely. Do we need to strengthen, YET AGAIN in the summer? Also yes.

That was the case well before today's events anyway. But if Sandgaard wants out (which he clearly does) then players were always going to be sold not bought. Bloating a squad full of dreck and fluff with yet more dreck and fluff wouldn't help at all.

The point is that Sandgaard gets a bit of cash from the permanent sales and someone else pays wages (or a portion of) for some of the rest. He cuts his losses a bit before washing his hands of the club. That was ALWAYS the point this window and if Sandgaard had any role in appointing Scott, that's exactly what he'd have wanted him to do.
Yes it fucks over the club in the longer term, yes it means summer wil be more of the same old churn, yes it means we're clearly aiming for plain old survival this season at best... but that's a feature not a bug. Sandgaard doesn't give a shit about what happens in the summer. He wants to fuck off with as money left as he can manage. That's it.
None of this, at all, is a "mistake" or "bad planning" from him - it's exactly what he wanted. Not what the fans want, but that's really NOT the point.
Is that the first window for a long time we haven't sold one of our younger talents ? It feels like it.

We need 10 new players for next season now, maybe less Kirk and Lavelle who may return as they're in contract.

Inniss, barring his misplaced header v Bolton, has played very well since Holden had a word about keeping it simple. Does he make mistakes? Yes, which is why someone with his obvious assets is playing in League One. Thomas has hardly played, so utter garbage is harsh imho. Just seems like there’s Window Slamming Shut fever around at the moment, and people end up going on tilt.
Just gotta hope that Ness (10 games under his belt) and Inniss (injury prone or red card prone) can stay fit and out of trouble otherwise it's a toss up between two crocked players to replace either. This window COULD come back to haunt us.
Hector hasn't been injured though has he? He was a back up player in his last year at Fulham. Its not a JFC case where he had a serious injury and hadn't played afterwards.
Andy Scott must be on commission….getting all them off of the books, including fees for a couple, and not spending a penny…great work
Might not be strictly ‘commission’ but I’d love to see the KPIs in his contract as I assume what he was paid was linked to certain short term deliverables
I don't think Scott's job was to jog a few on and discover Bonne, unless he pulled the wool over someone's eyes. Gallen could have done that.
We haven't unearth any undiscovered gems nor have we negotiated any bank busting sales.
I firmly believe he was here to work out who was an asset, who was a liability, who needed replacing, who was worth investing in, how much it would cost to put together a promotion winning squad with what was left.
If we had sold Dobson, Leaburn etc I would get the "asset stripping" POV but other than EOC, and I suspect the truth will never come out on that one, everyone that left needed to go.
The incomings are all adequate league 1 players, probably more so than most of our summer signings and certainly more so than last winter. All be it they are short term fixes, but with the ownership situation up in the air that's not surprising.

We have used the most players in the EFL! How big do you want.
On Sky they said we had used 32 players this season; that must include the cups. Most in the EFL, we definitely needed a cull. And 7 of the 8 players going I agree with. And even the eighth we would've received an OTT price as Wrexham were desperate for a CB; unfortunately not desperate enough to go for Lavelle or Thomas but EOC who most of us wanted to keep.
That's five windows in a row we haven't improved. Again. This just isn't acceptable to me.

I've never said we should accept it. Again you've jumped to it can only be one or the other, let's go mental or be happy. We need a new owner in order to progress in the summer. Yes we could have had a better window but realistically we were never going to sign players capable of getting us promoted next season. For me, the most important thing is keeping hold of the players that are capable of making us successful in the future, the likes of AMB, Ness, Dobson etc.
Sandgaard could easily have harmed us next season by flogging a key player. He didn't do that. This window has not significantly harmed our chances next season. Worst case we'll finish a few places lower than we could have done, but I don't personally care whether we finish 12th or 17th this season, neither are acceptable and neither are what we need to be aiming for in the future.

This is so spot on. I still don’t think we’re safe this season and are only a couple of injuries from really struggling. I’d love to know what the vibe is in the squad. 6 of the 20 players who were in the squad at Old Trafford are out the door. That sort of changeover can have an impact but what that’ll be we don’t know yet.
