If Newcastle were timewasting that badly, surely more yellow cards should’ve been shown? The thing that irks me with this is there will be 100+ other games this season where one team has a lead of one goal or one team chasing a winner. How many of those will go 2, 3 or 4 minutes extra on top of added time? All well and good enforcing something properly but it has to be done consistently, and it won’t.
The referee clearly had decided to add on an extra 2 minutes due to Pope's 'injury' shenanigans. Liverpool won a corner with about 10 seconds of the extra 2 to go and the ref decided to let them take it. If they'd cleared it, final whistle would have blown. It was generous refereeing but not scandalous
The West Ham goal came immediately after a quiet obvious foul throw. Apparently restarts are not part of any VAR review.
Interesting. I turned off on the Final Whistle. Didn't hang around for the analysis and didn't even notice it during the game.
Strange game last night. Spurs want to play on the counter attack. West Ham allowed Spurs to have the ball for the most part and then Spurs didn't know what to do. Our form, despite being unbeaten, is becoming a bit of a concern.
Apart from a very good 35-40 min spell mid-game against Southampton 1st game of the season, we've been sluggish. Arguably you could say Conte's tactics have been found out as the 3-4-3 generally leads to a 2 v 3 overload at CM in the oppositions favour. Chelsea, Wolves, Forest and now West Ham have all done it. Drop the CBs back 10-15 yards and Sonny and Kulusevski have absolutely no space to run into.
All the creativity comes from our wingbacks and the front 3. Its crying out for a ball player in the middle. I'm banging my head against a brick wall in frustration seeing us linked with the likes of Traore and Dan James.
Badly missed Bentancur last night and Romero last three. Dave Sanchez has done ok but looked proper shaky again last night.
And here ends my mini Spurs analysis for Aug 22.
(I do wonder if Sonny has now inherited the Aug curse from Kane. Remember when he never used to score goals in Aug?)

I'm surprised Spence hasn't been given more of a go. Emerson Royal seems ok but a bit headless at times.
Son looks way off it this season by his standards. Surprised he hasn't lost his spot to Richarlison yet.
You're doing ok though, Romero and Bentancur back in plus fixing the RWB spot and you should be good for top 4.
I stayed up to watch MOTD and Gary Linker introduces it as a good one so when Man City V Forest came on I was expecting at least a fight.
Do they really think that the audience find another thrashing interesting? Personally I find it boring, turned off and came upstairs to bed. Goodnight.
Is it me or are thumpings/thrashings more common than they used to be. First month of the season & we've already had a 9-0 & a 6-0. Is it that the top teams are so much stronger than they were when we were last in the Premier League or that the lesser teams are so much weaker ? Its not just the number of goals being scored its the manner in which the beaten teams are losing/ not scoring the odd goal themselves. And you cant even use the excuse of the beaten team going down to 10 men (unlike our 2nd ever game in the Premier League when we won 5-0 as the Saints keeper got sent off).
It's this. They hoard the best players in the world.

Top teams getting stronger and with the Champions league money the gap is only getting wider.
Already this season we've had:
Liverpool 9-0 Celtic 9-0 and 5-0 Bayern winning 6-1 and 7-0 City 6-0 and 4-0 PSG 7-1, 5-0 and 5-2
Antony from Ajax to Man Utd is a great signing. Can't wait to see him on MOTD.
I watched his video they posted and literally like another Richarlinson, his goals to games is ok 1/4 at Ajax, but not sure he is going to change things that much. An ok signing but 80+ million wow football has gone mad, he's got a few tricks but equally will be frustrating as he hoggs the ball alot. Will still be interesting to see how he gets on, but i don't expect him to run the show.

It's not like they bought a random nobody.
