Maddison just couldnt agree terms with us after all terms had been agreed with Charlton and Peterborough
Birmingham bids pretty much the same as ours
Another mid-table Championship team about to sell two players, with that money they're likely to buy him tomorrow
Grosicki is going to WBA, so Maddison is off to Hull presumably.
Better geographically for him, and Grosicki would have been on high wages, so Hull could afford to pay Maddison a decent amount and still save money
Living in Hull vs London though. Obviously never been but hasn't it been voted the worst place to live in England? Bless him
Comments like this always make me laugh. It's not as if Maddison would be living in a tiny terraced house if he goes there. Bloke could probably buy a 4-5 bedroom house in the countryside for the price of a 2 bed down here.
Just found a 5 bed detached house for 249k on Rightmove!
Daylight robbery!! My next door neighbour paid £90k for his three bed-detached last year. Quiet back street with lovely panoramic views of the city. 👍
I think this is more about intent going forward AFKA, and that has ever been the case. When we sold Hinton, Bonds, Glover, Campbell, Hales, Parker, Kermogant et al, that gave supporters a very clear message as to what they could expect from the board. Losing a key member of the playing staff at such a crucial stage of the season gives a clear message of intent as far as I am concerned. I pray I am wrong, and am hoping for the best, but preparing myself for the worst.
Just under 40 hours remaining before we find out whether or not ESI are prepared to commit footballing suicide by selling our best chance to avoid relegation. My season ticket for 2020-2021 is dependent on that decision.
Agree, ESI have a fantastic opportunity to get 20k crowds for the rest of this season, to unite the fan base and propel the club towards being an established Championship club. A small step forward is acceptable, A giant leap backwards isn't.
Shame there appears a lot of dependency on whether people go with what signings we make, but hey ho
The one bit I dont understand is the fact they have paid 50 million ish for the club so surely want to protect that investment yet are stalling over bringing in a few extra bodies mainly from lower leagues so surely we are offering them a better deal than they are currently on? I dont understand why we cant get any over the line also in the past we've done some cracking business in the loan market? Or maybee January is that much harder to get deals done or all the agents are being greedy bumping the prices up because they think we have money? Just hope we can get a couple of deals done as it took us a long time to get us where we are now Back to league 1 seems a grim possibility But will kept the faith still 40 hours to go
Do we know they’ve paid £50m? So far they’ve only bought the team, not the Valley or training ground and Roland said he’d be happy to sell the team for £1. We probably won’t see if they are actually going to really invest until the end of the summer.
Last January was ok. We lost Grant but Williams and Purrington arrived. Short term deals but both are still here.
Losing Gallagher and Taylor would make this one 10 times worse.
Agreed. As I see it, Bowyer went into the season knowing that his squad was good but thin. He absolutely thought that when the takeover went through there would be fresh faces to IMPROVE and bolster the squad. Not happened so far. Wonder what he's really thinking.
Although Hull is definitely at the end of the road (the only one for miles), there are some good things about it.
The crappy back to back Victorian tenement terraced housing creates a decent community even today and not all have more than one head.
the Deep is a great aquarium sunk down a vertical shaft where the fish including shark live at their natural levels and you walk down a ramp around the outside of the tank.
Not been there now for 15 years maybe but wasn’t anywhere close to being as bad as I thought,
Visit Hull, as we have a number of suppliers there, as with everywhere is has good areas and some shitholes. The area around Hull has some lovely little villages and the price of houses are eye watering low.

Keeping Taylor: I gave up my season ticket for 3 seasons because of Duchatelet, and only relented because of Lee Bowyer, who deserved the backing. At least to the end of the season, and if the "model" doesn't accommodate a skilled goal scorer, who was instrumental in our return to this division, then Lyle leaves BUT at least our chances of staying in the Championship are increased, Four fold if he stays to the end of this season.
Buzzing.... a Rangers reserve , no longer is it a shit pub league and of League one standard , he’s a great prospect and one to look out for and proves we are heading in the right direction

No, blindly following a team is for when you're a child. When people have families and potentially spend £1000s a season attending games, you want to make sure this isn't a repeat of the last 5 years.
On a more practical note, we have lost Leko and Gallacher, and Bonne is injured. Lose Taylor, and I just don't see where the goals will come from. Any replacements will be under immediate pressure, but will need time to settle in. They may not have that time.

You would assume Bonne, Clarke-Harris, Hemed, Anke or Davidson ?
So Cawley is adamant that Clarke-Harris would be a Taylor replacement. You can kinda see the logic, sell Taylor for a couple of Million and invest it in a 25 year old who scored 20 in his last 29 league appearances on a 3 year deal. Or lose Taylor in the summer and lose that £2m.
it seems obvious we are still trying to buy in the bargain basement department of footballers and that raises a very large red flag . If we sign a Rangers reserve just like we did with dodo and sell Taylor just like we did with Kermogant then nothing has changed from the last regime. We might as well still be owned by RD

No just found a 4 bed detached for 225k, keep this up and they’ll be giving em away, it’s like going back to the 1980’s up there!

some would compare it to buying a football club. not too much difference
My fourth post post of the morning, and before I return to bed to recuperate, I have one request for Mr Southall. Sir, if we are to lose Taylor, please sign a 'replacement' before he packs his bags for Brentford or wherever it is he is departing for.

He will need some minutes as Pratley is on 9 bookings and staring down the barrel of a ban ?

Stark choice for ESI so early in their tenure.
great news second one across the line , patience it’s all coming together
Bonne from mid February hopefully.
( some would argue we are partially. )
So, anyone on here know how to buy a house?
A varying opinion there.
