Hypothetical but would people take Clarke-Harris, Maddison and Gnanduillet if it meant Taylor leaves ?  I very much doubt we'd get all 3!

No, because neither Gnanduillet or Clarke-Harris are upgrades on Taylor.

It'd take Toney coming in for me to allow Taylor to go now
Use 5 of the 7m to do that.

All perms and we get £7m fir Taylor, I'd deal.
I can’t see teams offering more than 2-3 million for Taylor as he’s out of contract at the end of the season, that’s why I thought that could be enough to get those 3 players in with that.

Moan theres no players being bought.

Moan when theres a bid being put in for a player because "he isnt as good as Taylor".

    We are brilliant.

Trust Gallen,Bowyer and Southall and there much better knowledge.
We do have some special fans.

Would love to know what the club would consider is a sensible off for LT. Be easier to gauge the likelihood of him going in the next 48 odd hours then

    Isaac Success?

This Charlton, we'll more likely get his cousin Ilack Success.

    That's the silly offer bit.

Clarke-Harris is a 3rd tier journeyman, not as good as Taylor but plays the same role. Why buy him now unless Taylor deal is already done? What we are missing in attack is a pacy goal scorer and a Gallagher style attacking midfielder. Clarke-Harris is neither of those so he would be superfluous if he comes and Taylor stays.

Think ESI will have to abort their 'listening to silly offers' regarding Lyle.

It's very simple. Just don't sell him.
    At ANY cost.
Hi Mr. Burn, we are interesting in signing Lyle before the end of the window. Will you accept our £10 million offer?

Wasn’t that Lyle before we signed him 🤷🏼‍♂️

As long as Bowyer has full buy-in, Taylor can leave. If Bowyer doesn't want him to go, and believes he will apply himself correctly for the erst of the season, I wouldn't let Taylor leave, regardless of who we think we can get in instead. Given our league position, there's too much risk attached to a new signing to be trying to swap out such a key player mid-season. Save it until the summer if Taylor will not sign a new deal.

No no no.  Never seen any of them play and none of them have a proven championship record .  Selling our best player in January has never worked well - Parker, Reid, Kermorgant

Its a rumours thread and it's speculation from Crawley

I hope it's MS  is planning for the summer if Taylor leaves

If Taylor goes between now and Friday night the effect on the team going into the Barnsley game is a huge concern

But we never invested or replaced those players.

Sell Taylor and we’re in trouble imo.
He’s more than a decent striker for us. He’s a massive part of our recent success, Bowyer’s ‘general’ on the pitch and a unifying force for the fans.
A lot to expect a League 1 striker new to the club to fill that void. Impossible I’d say. Fine if we’re comfortable mid table. Crazy if you’re fighting to stay up like we are.

Replacing Taylor, who fits our system and has scored Championship goals with somebody who has done neither when we are 21st with 3 games coming up next month against the teams below us is a very, very big risk I would say.

We really have to try and keep Taylor but he'd never been a proven championship player either before we gave him a real opportunity and he's almost 30.

Cawely seems to think it would be a replacement for lyle... Surely not.. I'm not going to believe it until it happens.
Right into meltdown Twitter goes. Unless we are offered silly money, I think Lyle will stay. Speculation is nothing but speculation
Me too, not convinced this is true unless we are getting silly money for Lyle.
  • whatever happens with Taylor also remember that we still need replacements for Gallagher and Kayal

Even if silly money is on the table we'd be mad to sell Taylor now.

Crucial that we keep Taylor regardless of who we sign. Let him walk on a free at the end of the season.

Taylor is right footed. I think JCH is left footed.

Too bad... how about £15m to seal it now? We really do fancy him but we might move on to Ivan Toney or wait to pick him up for free in the summer.
  • We need Taylor until the end of the season, he’s not realistically replaceable at this moment.

Really can’t see him going this window.... as others have said, it would be an incredibly risky move.
