fuck sake. uefa as organisers are bloody useless. having that high profile game in Marseille was asking for trouble.

and having the world cup in Russia is another genius decision by FIFA. I just don't get it. if these stories are true I feel that Russia should be banned. they wont though.

    Because:

    image

  • Plenty of English goading anyone who'll rise to the bait but the Russian boys here are not messing about - the square full of English I was in a few hours ago cleared in less than a minute.

Hopefully this picture is a blurred batton and not a knife and has led to rumours. Playing the opposite of devils advocate!

Looks like an extendable baton. His hand makes the grip look the correct size, the silver looks like the end cap and you can get 12 inch ones. It's concealable too, so probably the ideal thing to put in your pocket.

It's still a pretty dangerous item to have pulled out in a fight, especially in the hands of a muppet.. But hopefully you're right, and someones seen the photo and read too much into it.

    Agreed.

I suspect he's plain clothed French OB.

Pretty tough viewing seeing English fans being so violently attacked. Nothing more sickening and cowardly that putting the boot in when someone is on the floor

This, no rules, once down and kicked once should have been left alone, he wouldn't have expected that kick.

Don't think I can watch many more videos like that tbh.

IMO Them English getting a kicking on the floor ain't hooligans, they're every day fans. If they were Scots in kilts, getting drunk and singing loudly, it would be 'the good old jocks, they know how to have a good time'

All this reporting seems a little contrived to me.

Message slowly seems to be feeding back that it's largely not the English at fault, but only via accounts from fans who are there from their personal twitter accounts.
Media playing it out as being caused completely by the English is, in my opinion, really damaging to our game.

UEFA threatened to throw us out of tournament after Chareloi (we got knocked out anyway).

Country's FA is responsible for its supporters (ridiculously) - chance us and Russia could be thrown out?

In fairness to Sky, their main headline is "Russians attack England fans in Marseille"

Can't imagine the papers will say the same.

Pretty sure he's a cop. The florescent armband thing is some thing they put on when in civvies.

Been watching the RT feed which is from just out side the ground at the moment. England fans in good spirits and no sign of violence but there are going to be some serious hang overs tomorrow.
