On a serious note people know that I've said I'll renew but of course it comes down to whether I can afford it... Has anyone ever used one of the Finance packages?
Sod the season ticket and spend more on the wedding lol
So glad Leanne doesnt post on here else me and you would be having words mate
It is clearly sensible to re-locate the cheap seats to the Lower North. As well as improving the numbers behind the goal and making the place look less embarrassingly empty on telly, notably, during the League 1 'Goal Rush' highlights, season ticket holders in blocks A in the East Stand and H in the West have been free to migrate with impunity towards the more central areas of those stands.
As to the rest of the ground - and aside leaving the toxic relationship with Duchâtelet's regime - I don't think a freezing of "all early bird and full price rates" is going to cut much ice with either existing or potential season ticket holders, given the utterly disastrous season we've had. The club is in a state of turmoil, on and off the pitch, and the vast majority of Charlton supporters have zero confidence that the necessary steps will be taken to enable us to mount a challenge for promotion next season; on the contrary, the likelihood is that a young and inexperienced team will struggle.
I don't think the 16 April deadline will carry any weight since, as sure as night follows day, it will be extended. The rather 'weasily' worded section in the FAQs states that "Season tickets purchased after Saturday, April 16th will be charged at post early bird rates, which can be up to £25 more." I don't believe that is going to persuade most supporters to reject CARD's request that anyone who does decide to renew should hold fire until July.
My season ticket in Block F of the East Stand will be £375, as it was this season. The maximum number of home games I can attend this year is 17. The price of match tickets in that block this season have been £26 for Silver games and £30 for Gold. My hunch is that there will not be many 'Gold' matches next season in League 1. Even if the average cost of purchasing on the day next season is, say, £25 (taking into account 'football for a fiver' and any other offers), it means I can go to 15 games out of 23 without actually being out of pocket. Nor, I suspect, is there much of a chance that my seat will be snapped up by a new 'customer', given the inherently limited attraction of third tier football.
There is, of course, the hassle of buying a ticket for each game - especially as I no longer live near the ground - but that is probably a price worth paying if there's a chance that it may encourage Duchâtelet to move on.
The pricing is only really relevant to any future purchasers - the season ticket boycott is going to mean such a piss poor income from season tickets anyway regardless - they must be secretly looking to sell now surely.
The boycott, and the scale of it, will be the biggest influencing factor on whether they sell up or not so think again before renewing and if you actively protest and r planning to renew then you really do need to have a major re think - it's a shame a bank account can't b set up with everybody's renewal money - it could be considered a bonus pot for any purchaser of the club - it may help ease people's conscience who feel they can't just walk away - a list of names and money pledged could b issued
I'm still waiting for a reply from the club as to why, when season ticket prices were supposedly 'frozen' last year, I paid £25 more than I did the season before.
And the 'Curse of Just' strikes yet again. "...with adult season tickets priced at just £175" and "...watch the team play from just £7.61 per game". How about "Our cheapest tickets are priced at £175" ?
North Lower now the cheap area. Something @Norman_Smith suggested to KM at a VIP meeting two years ago when pointing out how stupid it was putting the cheap tickets in the corner of the East. Two years on she pretends that this was an idea from T20k. No, Katrien, you suggested it to them and they agreed.
It is actually a much more sensible place to have cheaper STs although you have increased the number of cheap tickets greatly.
On student concessions, as the father of a 17 year old I like this idea.
In any normal situation I think most fans would see this as a reasonable offer. Shame KM has poisoned the relationship with fans so much that this will still be greeted by many as a joke.
the main prices seem to have stayed the same which is more than can be said for our league position.
I can confirm it was in fact the Target 20K group who put forward the North Lower and student concessions ideas to the club during our first meeting.
That's not to say they were T20k's ideas, the credit for them most likely lays elsewhere as you said but these were definitely ideas pushed by the group, not KM.
Either way it's pleasing to see both initiatives suggested acted upon.
Then how did I know that that was what the club wanted to do before the T20k group was set up?
Is it just possible that both parties came up with the same idea? It's a good idea but it is hardly beyond the imagination of one person.
As for T20k, their representatives on Charlton Life said we should anticipate aggressive season ticket pricing. Sorry chaps but I don't consider a few 1000 more cheap tickets as aggressive when you are watching a lower standard of football particularly as most others have remained as you were or even increased in some parts of the ground. What would have been a good idea would be to hold fire on releasing prices until our fate is sealed and then introducing a set reduction for all STs of around 25% with the promise of that price sticking if we win promotion back to the Championship. That would have shown some rare ambition from the Belgian twats and maybe persuaded some customers to change their stance.
Oh well, I won't be renewing anyway because I hate them. And Colin, you let yourself down a bit today-just too obvious....
1: I'm not paying the same as I did this year for an inferior product; 2; the football is shit and I'm just not enjoy it; 3. I despise the regime and I won't put another penny in their pocket. 4. My principles are worth more than 25 quid.
It is important that we don't get dazzled by cheaper tickets - this regime were always going to pull this stunt, as soon as they sussed that we were going down (in early Dec).
Let RD get rid of KM (after all, she has failed badly from a business point of view), then spend a few quid on some decent players, then let them play 6 or 8 games (incl the 2 tinpot cups we will be in) - AND THEN SEE IF THEY ARE WORTH WATCHING.
There will still be loads of available seats, and you will still be able to buy a (shorter) ST.
Or do you want to get fooled again ? Why spend money on a ST only for RD to let us slide into L2 ?
For anyone who is thinking "I have sat in that same seat for X years" - RD's long term plan might not include playing our games at the Valley, and you could be picking that seat out of a skip one day.
This can be done but it isn't easy and I haven't done it other than for companies who don't care about the costs.
In principle, an escrow account can be set up where contributions are returned to the contributors at the start of the season if no new acceptable owners are in place. If new owners have bought the shares before the start of the season, the money can either automatically, or assuming certain conditions are met (the fewer the conditions the better for the buyer) the money is released to the new buyers.
I can probably write the legal papers up to pretty high standard but would need professional review. I think the banking costs are likely to prove prohibitive.
How anyone unhappy with the Belgians and consider paying for a home ticket or season ticket is beyond me.
Can have all the campaigns and protests til we're blue in the face but they will just keep laughing as long as people are queuing up like lemmings to hand over their hard earned and watched them take the club over the edge of a cliff.
How can we expect sponsors to take us seriously and not hand over their dough when our fanbase are continually willing to do so after been treated so poorly by this lot.
Pay for any tickets and you're paying them and indirectly part- funding and enabling them to carry on destroying the club.
Paying for tickets on the door is funding the regime that is slowly killing our club whichever way you spin it or justify it to yourself.
To me supporting the club at the moment and next season is protesting and boycotting, not paying the very regime we espouse to hate.
Stop paying for tickets full stop, stop paying for the bars, food, lounges, merchandise, stop attending to give sponsors and advertisers an audience and everything else that funds Duchatelet and pays Meire's salary and they may eventually get the message.
The protests alone will not do it and are fundamentally undermined by people paying for tickets let alone season tickets.
I understand the arguments about having had a season ticket since 1921 etc and that people supported the club at Selhurst when they were unhappy but surely it's a different time now and to keep supporting this board's mismanagement of our great club will eventually result in its further demise?
Maybe I've got it completely wrong and if someone can please give me a logical and rational argument as to how boycotting is worse than paying to attend in terms of removing the regime then please outline it for me ....because I would like to come back to games but cannot justify paying to do so whilst this board are here?
I thought the club would have slashed the prices to counter the unrest and get bums on seats.
I do not think the £175 Covered End tickets will do much to bring in new fans and there is no reason for people to have second thoughts on renewing because of prices.
I will be very disappointed if we have more than 7000 season ticket holders next season.
The pricing is only really relevant to any future purchasers - the season ticket boycott is going to mean such a piss poor income from season tickets anyway regardless - they must be secretly looking to sell now surely.
Tempting as the price may be but I won't be getting a season ticket until RD and KM have left The Valley OR we see significant changes in the running of the club.
I have merely seen the title of this thread & have NO interest whatsoever in next season's prices.
They could be offering my seat in East Stand, Block E for £50 for the season, and I still wouldn't renew.
This lady's not for turning , or indeed wooing......
Are you still intending to go to every home game?
I've stated my position several times on here as I'm sure you are aware, EA and it won't change.
Maybe I am deluded.
Maybe I am guilty of double standards by being a serial protester whilst still attending home games.
But the slogan " Support the team, NOT the regime" sums up my stance.
Yes, I may end up out of pocket from buying tickets on a match by match basis.
Yes, I AM still giving money to those dastardly Belgians by purchasing said tickets.
But I still won't be giving them my cash up front to help pay those , possibly , overdue bills during the close season.
And they won't be able to add me into the matchday attendance figures if I fail to make it to a game.
Supporters far more intelligent & wiser than me have stated they believe that it may take years to purge our Club of this disease currently slowly killing it.
Younger fans may buy into this and say we'll still be around when RD sells up.
But as I approach my 68th year, it's possible that I might not be around when that exultant time arrives.
And if I'm not attending whilst I'm fit & healthy, who will bring the next generation of supporters along in the shape of my grandkids ?
This is my choice.
Whether it's yours or whether you disagree with my reasoning, TBH, I really don't care.
Let's see this for what it is, a blatant attempt to gather as many people stupid enough to renew, into as little space as possible, just to save a few more pounds.
On a serious note people know that I've said I'll renew but of course it comes down to whether I can afford it... Has anyone ever used one of the Finance packages?

With a CEO who cannot hide her contempt for her customers the hijacking of "My only desire" is offensive.
Quite easy for those previously undecided about renewing to now give it a miss.
Other than that it all looks good.
