Putting aside the argument between Merc and RB the crash yesterday was an interesting insight into the mind set of Ham and Ver.
Prior to this year Ham had been defending a championship lead with Ver chasing to catch up. When you’re leading a championship, especially by a fairly comfortable margin, you need to look at the long game.
Ver came into F1 at a young age and hasn’t been in this position b4 whilst Ham is the veteran who’s been in both positions. Ver needs to think about his approach when it comes to actually battling for a championship - he thrives on his aggressive reputation and his team plays up to it. However to win a championship you need to know when to back off - in a long season a 2nd place finish at a given race may win the title but a DNF may lose it.

Could even go some way to question if Horner / Helmut should be suspended for a race themselves - It really feels like their words have whipped everyone into a bit of a frenzy, bit like we've seen in other instances these last couple of years.

It's so depressing, looking through the reaction on twitter yesterday I saw a load of it myself. Reported all that I saw but I hate how hopeless it feels and especially so when the platforms definitely have the tech to stop it.
Red Bull have made a statement condemning it but I have no confidence that the next race Lewis wins won't result in the same comments being fired his way online.
A lot of people don't like Hamilton and their position starts from there. For me it was a racing incident with a little more blame on Hamilton but not enough for a penalty. Although the fact that Verstappen was out of the race, there was more pressure to give one. Ultimately, it is why we watch the sport. Two drivers not giving an inch. Verstappen probably should have given a bit just because he had more to lose (and he lost it).
Horner ought to try a calm the waters, I don't think this ridiculous posturing is helpful to the Red Bull cause. I would say strategically, Hamilton has given Verstappen something to think about. He relies on the other driver backing out due to his reputation for not doing so, but he must know Hamilton isn't going to now.
Horner and his boss were out of order yesterday and Max was petulant with his social media message as well. Watched the incident over and over yesterday and it was no more than a racing incident with two of the best drivers fighting tooth and nail for the lead. Max had already been erratic, with Lewis all over him and Lewis had already given him space once. Max didn't reciprocate and we know that he's aggressive...it's what will make him a champion for years to come. But so is Lewis and you need to be able to assess where to take your battles and Max is a little way of knowing that just yet.

Presumably they think Merc were lying about stopping dev on this year's car and expect a big upgrade after the summer break. Therefore they wanted as big a lead as possible going into that break, a lead they've now seen dissolve.
Lost all respect for red bull , they are another of my local teams & I've always wanted them to do well (as long as they r behind Mercedes!) I liked them because they appeared to like to race but their stance here is wrong & will do the brand more harm than good

Always thought he was just a bit of a tool but he’s proved himself a complete twat over this. I’ve always respected what Red Bull have achieved in F1 but I really hope it goes tits up in a spectacular way for them this season.

If Red Bull were successful in any future action, which they won't be, it would be the beginning of the end for the sport. It is probably time the F1 authorities told him to shut up or face sanctions.
Anyone else seen The Silver War? It's a fan made film documenting the 2016 Rosberg vs Hamilton battle. I've been watching it this week and not only is the film brilliant, it shows how good that season was compared to what we've had since.
I hope and pray that the rest of this season plays out similarly, how good would it be to be going into the final few races with Max and Lewis neck and neck
