Horner chatting absolute bollocks here. You can’t try to overtake if it’s a fast corner is the gist of his argument. Verstappen absolutely does the same thing as Hamilton in that situation.

He’s in the top 5000 tax payers in the UK not bad for someone that earns 90% of his wages in other countries he files tax returns in 4 different countries
Yeah, not enough talk, for me, about how the reason they hit was because Verstappen tightened the corner. Lewis’ steering angle doesn’t change, it’s Verstappen who turns further right. At the breaking zone Hamilton gets at least 80% (probably more) alongside so Verstappen can’t act like he doesn’t know Hamilton is there. If he chooses to squeeze Hamilton he also chooses to take on the risk that Hamilton won’t back out (and I don’t think Hamilton should be obliged to considering he got pretty much fully alongside) and that they will collide. Being on the outside Verstappen is always likely to come off worse from any contact so he has a responsibility for his own safety as well. Leclerc understood that and tried to hold the wider line, but ran out of grip.
Lewis understood that two corners earlier as well, albeit at a much slower corner, and left Verstappen more space, so much so he lost out on and overtake where he’d got over half a car ahead.
Red Bull are like Ferrari used to be, it’s always someone else’s fault.
Marko and Horner are like the master and apprentice of moaning and stirring the pot. Earlier in the week Marko was talking about looking at signing George , now he's wanting a race ban for Lewis.
If the roles were reversed, I believe Lewis would not have hit Max. He’d have accepted defeat on the corner and lived to fight another day. It took him a few years to learn that, and he lost a lot of points in the process.
Senna was a great driver and an inspiration to all of the current crop of drivers. What he used to do was never yield. This resulted in a number of crashes that he could have avoided but the rationale was that if the other driver knows you won't yield, they will avoid the inevitable. We saw the result of that when Prost was fighting him for a World title.
One of the great things about Lewis in his career, is that whilst being uncompromising, he is fair. If you ask any neutral, and I stress neutral, who the most aggressive driver is out of the two is, Verstappen would win that hands down. But Lewis is a Champion, and is chasing Max in the title, so he isn't going to yield and he didn't. I would have been disappointed had he backed out of that, and people would be saying Verstappen has got the beating of him psychologically if he did.
Both drivers could have avoided the incident, but neither yielded. Technically, Hamilton was more to blame today, but it wasn't a cheating move and Hamilton advised Verstappen in a previous race some time back that he shouldn't moan about being compromised by an opponent as he could have avoided it and won the race. And Verstappen was saying, but it was his fault not mine, and Hamilton told him that it didn't matter, he could have avoided it and had he done so, he would probably have won the race. Verstappen had more to lose than Hamilton but clearly didn't understand the lesson which was given freely.
If you live by the sword you die by the sword and whilst I can understand it, Horner ought to reflect on his remarks and apologise to Hamilton. I can imagine how frustrating losing all the points today to Hamilton and Mercedes was but it is done and for me I thought the punishment was harsh. But ultimately, Hamilton overcame it with a great drive.
You see it with football managers when they lose. If you are competitive, that comes out sometimes when a microphone gets pushed in your face. Horner, will I'm sure think better of it when the anger subsides. Which it will.
Verstappen has been no innocent victim since his debut in Formula One, for me one of his issues has always the fact he gets the red mist in front of his eyes which has made him inconsistent - I've been impressed with his attitude this season as feel for the most part he's controlled that.
Unfortunately today was like when Toto spoke about Russell hitting Bottas at Imola... That day he said: "Why fight so hard for a position when you'll probably lose it again later" - Of course there is a closer gap between Merc / Red Bull compared with Merc / Williams but Verstappen has been faster for weeks, back out and get him again in a few laps or over the course of the pitstop!!
As for the disrespectful / unsportsmanlike celebrations - Feel that comment is as ludicrous as the "suspension" comment from Marko!!
Just need Horner to come on air raging whilst pointing a figure at the camera going: "I'd love it, LOVE IT if we beat them"
I like Verstappen but that’s a twatty thing to say. Is he saying the if he won Dutch GP in similar circumstances, he wouldn’t celebrate. Also, moan about people celebrating while he’s in hospital but he’s well enough to tweet about it.
He was in hospital as a precaution and he is fine. Stop mentioning that you are in hospital for effect and learn from it and try to win the next race. I believe there is a bigger lesson for Max to learn today than Lewis. Not sure he will learn it though. At the moment, he has the fastest car so keep away from these sort of battles.
I think Bottas has given a timely reminder that as long as Hamilton is the number 1, Mercedes needs to seriously reflect on replacing him. He is a great number 2 IMO. He won't like the sound of that, but it is what it is. If he isn't happy with it, he should leave, but Mercedes should keep him if he doesn't.
To be fair to max, he probably has someone/a team from red bull that look after his social media and either wrote that on his behalf or told him exactly what to write
a bit like when premier league footballers post things on Twitter like
”say something about the fans playing their part today”
because they haven’t read what they’re being told to say and copy and pasted it
You’re probably right Dave. It’s a twatty comment whoever wrote it though. Been good respect between the two drivers and teams up to now. It was always a fragile peace that was unlikely to last but the gloves clearly came off today. Might get a bit ugly from here on in.
It’s just PR. Red Bull are trying to claim the high ground, that’s all.
Personally, I think Horner and Verstappen have both done themselves no favours here. A bit of a poor show to still be whining about a racing incident, even if you do think it was worse than pretty much the rest of the planet. But whatever.
The problem is, if the positions were changed as Jimmy said, I believe Hamilton would have avoided the crash. And definitely a driver like Alonso would too. Verstappen has used that in his driving style in the past absolutely. Why, because irrespective of the rules, the driver with most to lose needs to be mindful of that. Hamilton is usually in front in the championship so has ducked out of these confrontations, and Verstappen has asked the question of him a few times this season.
But when you are a long way behind in the Championship and this is probably your only chance to get in front in the race, you have less to lose. I'm sure Hamilton went into that corner determined not to back out and Verstappen should have forgotten about whose corner it was and respected that. It was about 65% Hamilton and 35% Verstappen but in terms of foolishness it was nearer 95% Verstappen.
Whilst it was Hamilton's fault according to the rules, and I accept that, both drivers could have avoided the collision and for that reason, I think a penalty was harsh. Again it comes down to who had the most to lose. Given he had the superior car, I think Verstappen could still have won the race and even if he came second, he would have had a big lead still.

Dont forget that there have already been two close calls that Hamilton has already backed out of... both occasions in the opening corners @ Barcelona and Imola which could have sent them both out the race, just as much as today could have done.
Given those moments, Verstappen is almost acting like the bully who has pinched Hamilton's sweets and will keep doing it because he knows that Hamilton wont react - Well sorry Max, you've got a reaction that you were asking for, so dont go crying to teacher over it!!
I haven't forgotten. Hamilton will back out if he has something to lose but today he probably felt he didn't. Being a world champion is often about getting these judgements right. Horner could actually school his driver and use it as a positive rather than play the card he has. If it is all Hamilton's fault there is nothing to learn.
I didn't see that as unsporting. It was an opportunity to take a point off a rival. It is on a par with going for a fastest lap when your position is safe and you can't win. Perez couldn't get any points so it made sense to take one from their close rival. I'm sure Mercedes would have done the same in the same position.
What was unsporting was all the ridiculous verbals afterwards.
Horner is such a fist... that to me, didn't deserve a penalty. He is also forgetting Max is the most aggressive driver on the track, and has put hamilton in those situations multiple times. Lewis has the brain to pick his battles, Verstappen does not
