so we are bringing in a keeper that was deemed good enough to be number 2 at both Liverpool and Chelsea in recent years. We are beginning to look like a proper competitive championship side. Early doors as Glenn Hoddle would say.
Never been impressed with jones when he was at boro or the few games I saw him play for Liverpool, always looked very flappy. Hope he does a job for us ofc if he gets a chance, he must have something about him if Liverpool kept him for this long.
Henderson posted a picture of himself in the gym at Sparrows Lane pushing weights on Twitter today. The op was only 3 weeks ago and he's already working on the shoulder in the gym, I'd say he is on course to return after the international break.
Jones apparently turned down Bristol City earlier in the summer - and was also linked with West Brom and Forest.
You do wonder where in the order Pope will be when Henderson is back. Guess his performances between now and the international break will determine that.
Liverpool fans don't seem to rate him but he is experienced backup and probably won't mind being backup to Pope as much as someone younger might. I don't think it reflects the seriousness of hendersons injury. We needed cover now in case Pope also got an injury. Not a bad move

Liverpool have slightly higher standards than us tbf.

Liverpool fans didn't rate Gomez. Brad Jones was always a decent keeper for Boro.

Hang on... are you kidding me or is your Gomez different to Joe who all Liverpool fans I've seen online appear to be raving about?

We give them Gomez and they give us Brad Jones? Guess they aren't happy with us then.
From what I remember, even Boro fans were shocked he got a better move and Turnbull was always the better prospect for them. Sort of like Elliot and Randolph for us. Suppose he is only short term and hopefully Pope can keep up his start to the season and keep the job ahead of him anyway.

You're welcome.
I'll be amazed if we see Henderson before mid October earliest.
Social media detective. :-)
Suggests to me Hendo's injury is worse than initially thought
Genuine thanks Colin, first to report it back on here this time!
Could be a tasty bit of business, decent back up to Hendo but not sure how he'd compare to Pope.
