Puppet or not he seems ok. Hates losing and wants to bring winning back to the valley. He could be an absolute disaster or he could get us winning again. Hey ho, good luck guy, you're gonna need it.
Absolute nothing quote though.
There's not really anything to say is there. I wasn't expecting anything from that interview. trying to be slightly more positive now after yesterday when I felt like shit about the whole situation. I need to do it for myself more than anyone or I'm going to burst into tears during the Watford game!
Crap press conference....no real answers...even KM dodged them.......not impressed so far....but allow his lack of English as a potential reason for the backroom staff......transfer budget was not answered though
I'm afraid I didn't get much sense of gravitas from Mr Luzon on that showing. He looks very young - like a shy schoolboy. Not impressed but let's see what happens at Watford.
I heard the press were told beforehand not to ask anything about the outgoing manager, other candidates that applied for the job, RD and his various footballing franchises, the current squad, the future squad and any potential improvements, the budget, the backroom staff and the new manager's management style including his previous successes and failures.
I think you'll find that they covered everything else.
Listened in on player. English not too good. Dodged the 'new player' question - will consider after Watford... Katrien sounded embarassed when asked about other candidates and wouldn't answer when asked if other British managers were considered - said she wouldn't want to give names (undestandable) but didn't reply to the more general question. All very tame. His style was very restrained. Not exactly confidence building stuff!
None of them denied the report that some of the players were concerned that he did not have any experience in English football or the Championship in particular.
I don't believe that they had credible interviews with anyone else, as KM said they did....It could be that Karel Freaye (sp?) was discussed, and maybe interviewed, and maybe Damian Matthew might have got his hat in the door, but I really doubt anyone else was properly interviewed. When Luzon arrived at The Valley it was on SSN, and then he gets the job. I don't even think that he had an interview! Shoe in...
Not one straight answer. What a waste of time. Katrien sat there nodding away, offering nothing.
Pointless press conference in my opinion.
When aren't they.
Holloway has got all the charm and bullshit in the world, not doing him any good this season. Lets judge him on results.
I agree.
Results results results.
Maybe the printed press will ask more probing questions.
English not great but not too bothered just as long as he can get the message over on the training ground.
Would live to know who and when these other interviews took place but if Luzon is a success than no one will be too bothered.
Shame that in September the talk was about strengthening the squad if we were still challenging. That was a huge mistake as we needed to strengthen then.
Now the talk is about staying up. Opportunity missed.
Can't beleive people think he going to answer the transfer fund question .... if he said yes I have 5 mill to spend then every player we went for the price would be funny enough 5 mill
Watched the first bit on Sky, then listened on player until it was turned off. My first impression is it wasn't worth doing, it was vacuous at best, despairing for the most part, with a big helping of bewildered WTF thoughts.
If you missed anything some of it was 'if you fail somewhere you could succeed somewhere else' He has seen a couple of Charlton games, and his knowledge of the championship is that it is high tempo, full stadiums, and big atmospheres.
Early on he said that when at Standard he knew about Charlton and he was an aware bloke because he sent players here (e.g. Astrit), this is in contrast to the video of him after Jose Rigas appointment where he says he has never heard of Riga, and doesn't care about Charlton.
Should've not said what he said today on that point IMHO.
Anyway what has been exposed to me this afternoon is a car crash of a press conference, but anyway Luzon tells us he is taking one game at a time and concentrating on Watford so hey ho.
My advice to Guy is to leave Vicarage Road with three points.
After watching the press conference, and seeing how good his English is, and the comments we heard from the SL fans about his linguistic failings, I wonder if the squad will have to learn Hebrew?

So we have no money for new players, and he will be told who his backroom staff are by RD. That seems to be what was not said, looks like he took the job because he was told to.

Her solicitor boss said a similar thing to her.
Daft bint.
