If funding is not an issue why haven't they spent money on a squad that is strong enough to compete when we pick up a few injuries especially to strikers, or wingers or centre midfielders or centre backs, full backs or goalkeepers.
All the spending and bragging about it seemed to revolve around The Valley (which doesn't need it let's be honest) for another million or so, the training ground (up to £10million total apparently).. Think someone needs to tell Roland that fans don't pay to go to The Valley to admire their surroundings and share pictures of the training ground during the on-going football match!
As I understand it the ventilation will be a subtle system whereby the wind arrives through a choice of corners, South East or South West, then in a magically planned synergy with prevailing conditions the air will swirl around the Valley constantly monitored by careful observation of linesman and corner flags. For air conditioning we will introduce a 'green' temperature control system in harmony with nature, in as much as it will feel warmer on the hotter days, and refreshing on the colder ones.
Jacko giving praise to Luzon for the win on Saturday is good to hear.
Q: Saturday was a revelation because we defended by attacking. Will we continue to do that ?
A (JJ): We'll try ! Credit must go to Guy Luzon. He has had us working tirelessly. And it is good because we required a lot of work. He is very structured and sure of what he wants from different players. Saturday was the first time we played how he wants us to play.
I only joined Charlton life in July and from the first match of the season have wanted a proper partner for Igor, and have been banging on about it because it was obvious Igor was getting down and losing form because he is not a lone striker.
Katrien has her work cut out now to win back the trust of the fans, But even thou we are still a proven striker short at this level Tony Watt may just get her and Roland out of jail for this season if the Igor and Tony show which is only about 120 mins long has supplied 3 goals and 2 assists from them already.
For most fans if we are getting the results and playing with some style like Saturday then we will put up with some dubious stuff from the boardroom.
If Roland/Katrien don't make sure that JJ is made a player/coach and keep him at the club they really have no Football acumen or common sense at all. The fact that Johnny was their tonight and his rallying call to the players and fans worked a treat last game, KM must see that JJ will become more of an asset off the pitch from next season by being the conduit with the fans and the young academy players who look up to him.

who the hell put that Tony Watt was a Scottish Sexual monster to him in the meeting?!?! It was a post match joke / joy / hero worship throwaway comment from me after our first win in three months and 8-9 pints!
Seriously people!!!!!
Of all of my pearls of wisdom that I share with you someone decided to put that one to our club hierachy?!?!?
For most fans if we are getting the results and playing with some style like Saturday then we will put up with some dubious stuff from the boardroom.
Although 'dubious' isn't the word I would choose, I do tend to agree with you in that most fans want results, well wins actually. In the present circumstances, to quote Crystal Palace (|), 'winning is the only thing'. The best way for the club to shove our doubts and fears and criticisms right back down our throats, is to get enough points to get into the playoffs, and then win promotion this season. It is indeed Roland and co who hold all the cards, and are playing them out, and in the present circumstances Roland and co not at least getting into the playoffs, is abject failure. The club may not agree with me, but I go these days fully expecting wins, and if the club doesn't deliver them they are essentially useless. I used to cut slack left right and centre, but not under this regime, winning is the only thing.
Total nonsense of a meeting. As soon as I walked in you could see it was another tactic by the club to deflect away from tomorrows meeting. So after yesterdays get a 15 year old to ask the CEO questions we now have a Q & A with the CEO Chairman and Head Coach with the the Head Coach not there (not bothered on that point), the Chairman arriving about 30 minutes into the meeting and a whole list of other people. That would still have been ok had the presenter for the night restricting questions to ensure all guests were asked questions, which lead to some pretty pointless questions like the following:-
Is the pitch a green carpet or is it the bests pitch you have played on Who is responsible for choosing the club colours Diego Poyet won player of they year last season from halfway through the year, can you (Tony Watt do the same)
The other guests would have been great at another occasion in fact you could have 1 Q& A a month with specific questions for a certain subject such as the Academy and the club might start making money (increase revenue KM) but it was a clear case of deflection from the real issues at hand.
It was quite clear a large enough number of the people in the room are happy with the current situation and quite happy to shout those down who feel differently.
The VIP deal has been a shambles from the start to finish, even with the 10% discount I will still be down in the deal. In the main it does not bother me, what gets me is being assured by letter and in person by Steve Kavangah I would not lose out, then having RM last year being very flippant about us who lost out and now this year being asked you can have half back via a season ticket discount what I have lost or it can go to a charity. Just be straight with me would be a start
Covered End was a star and really tried his best, who even when asking about staff being told who they should pick from the owner to the South London, the presenter steeped in and asked KM not to answer.
Jacko was brilliant and he understood more what the fans are going through than anyone else on the panel
This is possibly slightly unfair, given that English isn't her first language and I'm only going on what's been reported back, but KM repeatedly describes Guy Luzon as "the favourite" and not "the best" candidate, even when the question is couched in those terms. As the offspring of an inveterate bullshit merchant, I'm used to listening for what people don't say as well as what they do, so I'm sceptical to say the least.

Ridiculous!
Hahahahaha I can't believe someone brought that up. Poor old Tony must have been thinking what the actual fuck.
Positive comments from JJ about Luzon. I'm still in the belief that the bloke is a decent coach.
Having Tony Watt there, would have been the perfect opportunity to ask his opinion of the differences between the Belgian League and the Championship. The answer, we suspect is that the Belgian League is slower and more technical, the Championship quicker and more physical.
A supplementary question to Jacko, could then have been, why do you think the network players are struggling to adapt? (Fairly obvious).
The opportunity to ask who is making the decisions on player recruitment and why it has been largely unsuccessful, as a follow-up, would have been too good to miss with Kat the Liar in attendance.
The network is not strong enough, because the lead team is playing in a weak European League, in comparison to Watford, who are in a similar position to us, who can tap into Serie A standard players at Udinese.
The Belgians are over-estimating themselves, as well as under-estimating the English Championship.
KM will not deal with the trust and they want to treat all supporters groups the same via the fans forum. Two problems with this:-
The trust get treated the same as Syd Cheeswright train travelers despite a huge difference in the 2 groups numbers
Why is she doing 2 Q&A with supporters groups in the next month
Would have loved to have these questions but the meeting was cut far too short and early and the presenter wanted too many questions to be asked of the other guests.
Pico pretty much covered it above. Very disappointing that a meeting with Meire, Murray and Luzon, started without Luzon, who went to Reading v Wigan. Probably a good idea, but he was still billed as being there yesterday. As usual, very strange, as with all things Charlton since RD took over. Richard Murray turned up half way through, delayed by traffic. Once again, very strange.
The 8 was it ? strong panel were clearly there to support KM and stop her & Murray getting all the questions.
The presubmitted questions were read out & Meire responded with her usual blandness, which didn't really answer the questions. If any supporter tried to get clarification they were told that this was not permitted.
The questions from the floor had to be directed to each individual on the panel, so we got questions to Steve Avory about the Academy. Questions to Watt & Jackson about the team. A question to Chris Parkes about colours of shirts and a question to David Joyes about finance.
The questions to Katrien were imo, not answered in full and if you tried to get a full answer you were shut down by Mick Everitt, who was the MC.
Although most supporters were silent, if you did try to ask any more searching questions, many other supporters, were also not interested saying that people had had their say.

I doubt if Katrien even understands that the large majority of fans have no representation at the FF, because the groups tend to be geographical and have relatively small membership. One of the more bizarre aspects is that Valley Gold - the largest group - is represented by an employee, yet VG is a members' club with no formal accountability to its members at all.
This is not the fault of the FF or the people there. It always was an imperfect mechanism, but huge emphasis is now being placed on a structure that can't really stand it.
Seth you have turned into a warrior, you have gone from a moderate, play it for laughs into a win at all costs man ? on and off the pitch.
You would have been proud of my tirade at Luzon at H/T against Norwich. no swearing just telling him to play Tony and Igor together from the start.
The spirit before the kick off was better than i thought it would be after Norwich, mainly because of JJ speech and The line up, fans weren't sure about Bulot but like me felt he was starting in his best position.
Katrien is taking a risk if she does not keep cafc fans who have worked for the club and know about it's DNA, onside. As LBJ the American President said I would rather have those people pissing out from the tent than outside the tent pissing in!
Airman, Steve, Matt, Jimmy and Wendy, i'm not saying your all on the piss but..........
What was annoying was too much drivel about how they are improving the facilities at the ground and when you go out on a social occasion this is very important, it was repeated enough times for many to start moaning. They were talking as if the Valley is a hotel. A million to be spent in the summer on as mentioned air con and a new digital screen. They couldn't grasp the mentality for most of us that it is about the football and the squad first and we don't just go to another club because it has better facilities. Apparently we have better wi-fi than Wembley, well I would like to watch a Charlton team that is capable of reaching wembley again, the play off final is a distant memory but a happy one.
I reckon Duchatelet lives in an underground bunker with an array of TV screens in front of him with all the network games streamed to him, his wife must be patient with him watching all the football - mine gets the hump if I attempt the 2 Sky games on a Sunday.
It looks the Bromley and Ashford committee's will have to start looking for some alternative venues for the upcoming meetings with Meire over the next four weeks.
Not cause of the demand of people wishing to attend but in case Meire brings along 7 other guests with her.
The whole interview thing still sticks in my throat. Until she tells us who the three people she interviewed with championship experience are, i still won't believe her.
Yeah right. So you want her to reveal private information just to appease you.
It was quite clear a large enough number of the people in the room are happy with the current situation and quite happy to shout those down who feel differently.
This must be the self-proclaimed 'silent majority' we're always hearing about.

So if, as stated above somewhere, the majority of people there last night seemed largely OK with things and I guess we can assume they were a fair sample of support, or at least VIP support, then the VIPs who post on this forum are in the minority. Is that right?
Perhaps people who want to moan will gravitate towards a "forum" to do that moaning but the silent majority will remain silent.

Sometimes this site beggars belief. Imagine Luzon was there tonight and then we got thumped 4-0 by Wigan on Friday he would get pelters, and rightly so, for attending a VIP meeting tonight. His main role is winning football matches. I doubt he's seen much of Wigan play in Belgium so of course he should be in Reading tonight. Ok it was informed late to fans but honestly 'so what'? I doubt many went tonight to specifically quiz Guy.
