RM told me afterwards, that Luzon's wife signing up to Charlton twitter wasn't true.
And free speech is allowed up to the point that it isn't
OK, if he said it afterwards.
We can argue over what constitutes "free speech" but you weren't thrown out for what you said (not that I think you should have been or that you asked anything that was inappropriate).
True, but when I asked a question, the MC said "don't answer Pike" and when you tried to follow it up, let's say, you weren't allowed to fully explore the point in question.
If they wanted Guy then appoint Guy. He can then succeed or fail on his efforts.
I think what many find hard to reconcile is that it wasn't already a done deal but rather that a full process happened in 48 hours and just happened to result in the person who'd been rumoured a week before.
It's a pity that the topic was Mrs Luzon's Twitter, rather than the fact that we on this list were hearing rumours a week in advance that it was Peeters out and Luzon in. How does KM explain that? And Richard Murray's assertion that Luzon was not appointed before Peeters' departure may be technically correct but that doesn't mean that the intention to do it was not in their minds. Oh weasel words.
Is it just me, but I at least welcome the statement about aiming to be a stable Championship club with aspirations for the Premier League. A bit bland, but it provides a yardstick against which to measure progress. Relegation would be a failure. Season after season of struggling against relegation would be a failure. Mid to upper in the table would be on plan. Promotion in a few years would be a success.
We're never going to be a stable Championship club without investment. We struggled last season and should have invested more over the summer. Instead we have a team worse than this time last year and are struggling to stay ahead of poor teams like Blackpool, Millwall and Wigan.
I wouldn't say it's stronger at all. Just over a year ago we had Yann, Stephens, Poyet, Hamer, Dervite and Morrison. And a better manager.
And last season we didn't have Vetokele, Watt and Gudmundsson, while Henderson, Ben Haim and Bikey (until recently, but now potentially Johnson) have replaced Hamer, Morrison and Dervite without.
I'd say we have a bottom half Championship squad this year which is what we had last year.
I believe Luzon was always lined up to take over. I also believe that either KM or RM or both, as it was referred to as both I and we, did interview a couple of English Managers with Championship experience, face to face on Monday (that's what they said).
However, I think Luzon was always a shoe in, unless there was an exceptional reason, to appoint someone else.
Wonder when this vid is going up. They said morning, not much of the morning left... I've got a meeting to go to then a long drive from 'oop north' to 'daaan saaarf' for another certain meeting tonight... Hope they hurry up!
I notice from the write up there was no answer to the question regarding Luzon's wife following CAFC on twitter weeks before he was appointed? Or have i just missed it?
Richard Murray said this wasn't true.
Did he say that? Surely it was demonstrably true. Is he suggesting it was a fake account or something?
Katrien whispered under her breath with the mic away from her unconvincingly that the account was fake... (sat not far from her)
The whole interview thing still sticks in my throat. Until she tells us who the three people she interviewed with championship experience are, i still won't believe her.
I'm sure the three people concerned will be well pleased if it was publicly announced they were turned down for a job.

Precisely, not sure Roman Abramovich would like finding out that Jose wasn't really late for work on Monday because of a Drs appointment
It's the last time that anyone from CAFC will have to endure the trials of a VIP meeting. So it's no surprise that the line-up was changed and the Q&A format was not to everyone's satisfaction.
The main message seems to be that the club are doing some maintenance and will also be putting in the planning application for the training ground (same message last year, I think).
Best way to stop the meeting going wonky - bring out a couple of well-liked faces, and keep control of the microphone.
RD is a multi-millionaire, and CAFC do not need any financial assistance form the fans to continue trading, because RD can just keep pouring his own money into the club.
To the VIP 452 (?) I say.........Save your pennies at the moment, for the time will surely come again when the club needs to raise £1m or so to stay afloat.
In the meantime, let clever old RD and his puppets get on with it. The fans are nothing more than a minor inconvenience to them.
having quickly skipped through I think we can forget the "they'll edit it all" conspiracies.
The only bit that seems to be not there is RMs impassioned statement that came after the formal end of the night, which is a shame IMO.
Some of the best bits from CE can't be heard but because he didn't have a mic. They were audible in the room but this seem to have an issue with all the off mic comments not just CEs.
I suspect the Air con thing is pretty obvious, the system must be pushing 20 years old, inefficient and poor environmentally. So spend some money on a better system, fix the system now, and long term save money on running it.
BTW, The Valley was a terrible conference venue until a year ago, awful rooms, food and basic facilities.
If the works to the air conditioning are essential maintenance / health and safety requirements then fair enough. I imagine that that should have been discovered, like the pitch problems, by due diligence. However, it's unwise to try to sell them to supporters as a benefit at a public meeting.
was there an air-con system DVD available to watch?

Agree, no one is going to reveal names like that as it would be a preach of their confidentiality. Imagine the storm if they came out and said it was Holloway, Warburton and Parkinson from them, their clubs and from CAFC.
Where I think KM and the club made a rod for their own back was not saying more on this earlier on.
If they had spelt it out then that they had interviewed 3 managers with Championship experience as well as Luzon on the Monday but the decision of the three directors was that Luzon was the best fit then while many would still have been sceptical and some not believe it regardless her version would have been out there in full from the start.
The more information they can give the more likely it is that more people will see it there way. It will never be 100% but it would be a higher percentage.
The same thing happened last night. KM said the plan was to break even early on. It was only near the end that David Joyes gave us some figures on spending, losses, increased income (KM did mention £1m), player spending and I think RM or DJ mentioned a £4+ spend on players.
Now, people will still debate if that is enough or money well spent (quite rightly) but at least the info would be out there and show the regime in a better light for some.
It might allay SOME people's fears. Not all but some. And that would be a start.

We all know that prospective managers are contacted before a current manager is sacked, we all know that all clubs would completely deny this. Why is this being made so significant.
exactly. I personally know one such manager approached about replacing a manager at another Club over two weeks before said manager was eventually sacked.
Interesting in parts. The final statement from Katrien is probably the most revealing especially in respect of the meeting tonight - in answer to the question 'how do we get a dialogue with RD and get him around the table':
The entering of the dialogue is via me ... it's as simple as that.
Comments
Anyway, I'm off out now and will be at the public meeting tonight, so won't be back on here today.

On the manager it's far too early to say.

What a waste of bloody time.
Maybe watch the video first

Cynical ? - maybe
Realistic ? - Deffo
