Had the chance to watch this from a posh seat in the west stand and noticed a few different things from my usual seat, firstly what a difference Andy Hughes makes you could hear him shouting

Secondly speaking to Yann afterwards, he and his family love this club, all of the squad are looking up not down and a 9th place finish is realistic.

If we had a strike pairing and not a pair of strikers we would have a great season Yann/Obeka discuss....

One more thing. Does anyone else think Yann is fitter than ever? He will get the ball in defensive midfield (his deep play is tracking back 99% of the time). On several occasions I saw him get the ball in defensive position only to be leading the attack at the other end seconds later.

    Definite MoM for me

Great feeling to beat a nasty club like Leeds so late in the game and I'm delighted that Jonathan 'effing useless, waste of time signing' Obika has just scored the goal that will very probably secure our Championship status for another season.

Lets see if we can push on and finish top half. It'll have to go down as a pretty successful season if we do.

Thought before the game Leeds were there for the taking and they were, their support had their backs to the game at the start for some sort of protest??? None of their players really celebrated their goal either which was weird.

On the game we dominated without creating too many clear cut chances, thought we'd blown 3 points when they equalised especially as CP made what I thought was a bizarre change in Fuller for Kerkar, but we got a deserved win and a rare late winner which makes us virtually safe, 7 points above relegation can't see anything but a safe midtable finish now so well done CP and the boys tough season but we've done well despite lacking quality which other teams have we make up for it in fight and spirit.

Yann was MotM today he was brilliant, got the ball down, won headers, chased everything , Obika looked lively, just wish when we get the lead we go for a second to kill off the game something to improve on next season. Great week for us.

Good to see the ref having a word with Leeds keeper about time wasting and that was in the first half. Does anybody know why Hughes was wearing a black armband?

“He knocked on my door yesterday after I named the team and he said asked what he needed to do to get in." - Chris Powell, on match-winner Jon Obika.

In memory of the Leeds fans killed in Turkey. All the Leeds players were wearing them.

  • Yann was outstanding today. Forget running 5 aside pitches in France in the future, he needs to retire here and coach at CAFC.

Got told this after the game by a Leeds fan.

Wish I (and the rest of us) had known. We'd have joined in with them no doubt!

Yann has nine and Jackson top scorer with 10. Not good enough for a push up next year.

It seems you're forgetting Kermorgant missed almost 3 months of the season!

The team has scored 51 goals - that's just 6 less than Hull City in the automatic promotion positions.

Rather than one striker with 20 goals, the goals have been spread around the team.

Hughes was wearing a black arm band as well. Could not understand it at the time as I knew SCP would not have made him captain over Jacko.

So why turn their backs on the team? All a bit odd. What's wrong with applause or something?

Not sure about the love for Hughes. Sure we've lost few games he played but he is not good in posession doesn't bring ball forward and isn't a prollfic tackler espesially if someone runs at him. More likely. JJ and Pritch feel less burdened by defensive duties when they know he is too limited to be caught out.

Like our best patch last year, Hughes makes all the difference. Firstly, he's experienced in the role he's playing and a much better passer than he's given credit for. He provides protection for the back four and a link to the front two. We look an immeasurably better footballing side with him in it because he's the missing piece in the team jigsaw. You don't need every player to bomb forward. But most importantly he talks. Constantly. He keeps the players ticking, they're never short of encouragement, or a call, or a firm word where needed. Captain material, and I'm just sad we got him when he was 34 - I think he's priceless, personally.

Shame its come so late in the season but I thought that Yann and Fuller have worked out how to play as a unit instead of competing with and hindering one another as they had done before. We don't as a rule have players who are particularly fast, or strong, or skilled above average for this league, but we do have a proper team. Hughes, JJ, Morrison, Fuller, even Solly, all our players have different limitations but none of them all the same. Hughes will never be a creative dynamo, but he will get the ball back and let someone else do the defense-splitting through ball. Fuller hasn't got the legs or energy to chase every ball, but takes up the right position and on receiving it gives any CB in the league a nightmare, and so on. The total is far more than the sum of its parts, and a lot of credit for that has to go to Powell.

The ref missed some stuff today, not because he was poor, but unluckily unsighted, particularly for about four Leeds handballs.

Once is misfortune. Twice is carelessness. Countless times is... well, Stuart Attwell. The guy is seriously out of his depth. This is the one who gave the infamous ghost goal, lest we forget. The only thing to say in his credit was that he was dreadful for both sides. Oh, and that he's honest. But honestly poor.

Great result, something had to change, so prior to last weeks game against Bolton, i caught a different train than i used to, starting having meals in the vallet cafe again and drunk a different beer in the liberal club...yes its all down to me so i will take the plaundits...and anyone else notice how Hamers been a better keeper since i threatened to put me gran in goal...and to top it off both my son and dad said me name was clled out at half time for £50 sovs in the valley gold....not bad since i have been paying in for 25 years and won naff all.

Unadulterated joy,I'd forgotten what it was like to walk on air up Floyd Rd.
As an aside,I thought a lot of the Leeds fans were gracious in applauding our academy players.

Have to say in the refs defence a lot of the handball shouts we had today were ball to hand.

thought Hughes had another good game today - what a difference he has made, not that noticable, but has made the team gel.

Another sucess has been Calum Harriott - with Hughes he has turned this team around and should have been playing all season

never realised that Obika had that amount of pace - maybe give him the next 5 games to see what he had got with a view to buying him in the summer ?

One gripe though. What was CP doing bringing on Kerkar ?? and where are Green & Waggy ?? CP got out of jail today but someone needs to have a word in his shell-like.

In reality we should be safe now - but another couple more points would seal it.

Great and deserved win, missed Bolton and felt relieved and nearly tearful at the end.

I can see what Yann brings to the team, but last season missed a lot of matches at home and didn't go away and the start of this, even before his injury, thought he looked of the pace.
Therefore, I thought maybe I had missed the best of him. Today, especially at this level, he was amazing. Strong, winning every header and great foot control. Best I've seen him play. Il a été fantastique or something like that.

Apart from that ref was pony, wiggins looked poor apart from the cross and we were guilty of misses chances throughout the 90.

Credit to CP, (I thought we needed to be a bit more attacking with the squad before the match i.e. Waggy or Green in place of Wilson on the Dame Judi) and aside from the strange Kerkar substitution he got it spot on.

Mrs is watching The Voice, I'm reading it.
