  • So I normally park on some of the roads off Victoria Way, so looks like I will have be delayed in trying to make a speedy getaway to get back to near Tunbridge Wells in time for the England game!!

Anyone have any suggestions on where to park the other side of the ground, Charlton Lane side?

    yes.
And can you share them with me?!
    I have.
    Oh yes, nice one cheers.
I have to get back to your part of the world, I normally park in the lansdowne lane area, after the game it is straight out to Charlton Village/Sun in the sands/A2/M25/M20

  • So why didnt we rip out more at the toolbox then?!!!

cos we're better than that aren't we ????
    i was joking mate
  • It's 25 minutes for fuck sake.

Couple of beers in the lower north then head to the station.

    Job done.

East & West will have access to north lower bars, with limited exit available you'll be lucky to get served within the 30 minutes that the bars will be open.
Will the police force smallwall onto trains ? you're just gonna end up with little mobs here & there attacking ones & twos. Unbelievable arrangments. Recipe for disaster. People mentioning the fact that they may rip out a few seats if made to wait behind, are seats now more precious than peoples safety ?

Are they going to be surrounded by police escorted to the station & forced onto trains, or will they be allowed to drift off to cause mayhem half hour later?

  • The line about not wanting Millwall fans to miss their trains is an insult. When we were held back for an hour at there place a couple of years back that wasn't considered an issue.

I find it hilarious they seem to think all the Millwall fans want to get the train back to their homes in Deptford, Bermondsey and Woolworths (or whatever its called). Like its 1974 still.

The majority of Millwall fans live in the same places as Charlton fans. We share the same catchment area these days you know....

The statement does say "The measures, which are designed to allow Millwall supporters to make a prompt exit towards the train station". Doesn't specify that they HAVE to get a london bound train
  • Not one to criticise my club but that decision is ridiculous. Its Millwall that causes the trouble, inconvenience them not your loyal paying home fans. Your not telling me Millwall fans are all gonna go quietly and completely clear the area in 25 mins. Like others say this likely to be more like 45min/1 hour.

Alternative stay in the north stand and have a beer! The queue is bad enough at half time without half the east and west stand in there as well!!

Who on earth will want to drink shit lager in the ground if or when they beat us sat after the game . Dear dear

Agreed, there's no way 3k Millwall are just going to leave quietly, be happily herded onto a train and that's it. There will be loads trying to break out of the cordon.
  • 1) What happens if the Millwall fans leave the ground sloooowwwly, hand around outside for a bit, then refuse to get on the trains? Will they keep Floyd Road shut for another 30 minutes?
    2) What happens to the Millwall fans then? Will they congregate at London Bridge instead, waiting for the Charlton fans to arrive?

If you keep Millwall in for 30 minutes, that's plenty time for Charlton fans to disperse on their trains (or not if they choose to). Doing it this way seems bizarre.
  • Surely these arrangements could have been made sooner, and announced much further in advance - so much for better communication from the Police.Millwall could have been held back for some rearranged later trains perhaps, if it was planned far enough in advance?

  • I could live with them getting to an Fa Cup final and Europe instead of us.

I could live with them getting to Wembley again instead of us.

    But not the station.

    Not our station.

    Outraged of Platform One
  • Don't know why people are surprised, only at Charlton do we make everything as easy as possible for away supporters.
  • People liven up. Could be worse!

Getting rid of 3000 is easier and quicker than getting rid of 18000. Do the math.

Getting rid of us first takes longer, gives the scum more time to wreck the place.

Easier for police to get rid of 3000, and keep an eye on/ and remove any potential muppets who want to stay behind and cause trouble.

Forget "it's unfair" blah blah blah. It's common sense.

No one is a victim of staying behind 25 mins or even longer. The main priority is to ensure the safety of everyone. If staying an extra 30-45 mins after the game, ruins your weekend, you need to get some help.

Nothing like alienating your own fans whilst catering for the needs of a visiting team.

This has been done as the club are clearly worried the stand will get trashed if Millwall are held in.

This could have been dealt with weeks ago. Very simple. Away fans are told that they will be kept in when the tickets are issued. What other club would cater for the needs of away fans before its own?

Did Leeds do something similar? No. They made it clear they didn't want away fans thereand made it as hard as possible to get tickets.

The club wants to have its cake and eat it. Doesn't want to loose the revenue, doesn't want to have away fans in the area for any length of time so will piss off its own supporters.

    Absolute bollocks.

Sounds like you are complaining that the club is worried about one of the stands being destroyed and the club losing money. How dare they!!!

lol unfortunately so was i !
  • So because they can't control themselves I am now goin to be late for work.... Great
  • I expect they will be funnelled directly to the westbound platform and given no option of other routes, expect a massive policing presence

    This.

even if we won i wouldn't want to spend my post match celebration standing in a queue for crap fosters.
  • If only we'd tickled the Lion's chin instead of pulling out its whiskers. Blame only ourselves folks. . . . . . . . .

So they're all made to get a london bound train, some get off at the next stop or somewhere else up the line, then change and catch a train back the other way so it comes back through charlton just as the home fans are finally allowed into the station.
  • a last minute controversial injury time winner for us perleeeeease
  • I'll check the garage see if i've got some red carpet the old bill might want
  • IF we batter them will any of this really matter?
  • They'll smash up the Jimmy Seed during the game anyway
  • So what does the club safety officer say when the lower north becomes over crowded?

  • and people prefer millwall to palace

    **shakes head in disbelief**

lets see where the blinkered crew are on saturday night
  • Southeastern will probably cancel the train anyway
