Flare at the end and trouble

  • Watched the video of the plum that smashed up the chair and threw it.

As big a twat as any of the Millwall I've seen over the years. Pat on the back
  • I seriously want all those who are offended to realise that for many years people like me have had our fair share from millwall and realise this in the words of nolly

They are not their fathers sons

The young millwall and the young Charlton have grown up together they are cut from the same cloth and this is football in the modern era

The difference being our young and old have drunk and stood alongside you without you knowing because we are not like them and they do not intimidate and do the things we all dispise

It was a great day for Charlton yesterday

    turn it in

No I won't turn it in. The good name of my Club has been soiled by mindless, moronic yobs.

You have every right to go to SE16 every week, since you evidently enjoy such behaviour, just as I and others have every right to condemn it.

A BALL BOY NEARLY GOT HIT BY A FLARE THROWN BY A CHARLTON FAN.

Dangerous and wrong in my opinion but you justify it all you like.

That's before I even start on the brain dead moron throwing seats at other Charlton fans shown on the video last night!

You justify it though. I know I'm not a "proper fan" and thank God for it if that is what a "proper fan" is.
  • Len it did not nearly hit him it landed directly infront of me as was several feet from him
  • Massive over reaction
  • That makes it alright then

zzzzzzzzzz yes the good name of your club has been completely ruined zzzzzzzzz
  • I nearly got hit by a bus this morning , well it was the other side of the road but I do like to sensationalise
  • The thing is, the bus is where it should be, on the road.

Not long ago there was a thread on here with loads of comments regarding 'tear ups on the terraces'

Now a bit of smoke and a light and people are talking like we've mass murdered people and now Charlton are all scumbags.

  • I for one think yesterday was absolutely fantastic, every single part of it, su-fookin-perb at the pisshole!

Two bob club be back to 10,000 next game

Never been homeless tho - surely that's the definition of two bob?

Trying to think of just one big (eg Man United) or medium sized (eg Leicester) club to have been made homeless and forced to go cap in hand to a local rival.
    If you know your history..........................

  • Anybody outside of Charlton and Millwall fanbases probably have no idea whatsoever that the incident happened.

Infact, considering it was a 0-0 most Football fans probably don't even know we played each other.

Some embarrassing over-reactions on here, which I would rather distance myself from than anything that happened yesterday.
  • Len Glover in over reaction SHOCKER!

You actually saw it thrown then did you Len?
  • Jesus Christ, the reactions on this thread are priceless.

Len how has the clubs name been affected? I doubt anyone outside of the game knows it nearly hit a ball boy but didn't by at least 3 foot. So I don't think the clubs name has been ruined at all.

I'm sure your sh*t doesnt smell like roses and it was obviously just a bit of fun, it added to the atmosphere and no one was hurt from it So therefore there is non problem.

It's a flare not an atom bomb, get over it

Read the opening post on this thread.

Whether I saw it or not is irrelevant.

It happened. It was wrong and all Charlton fans are damned by association.

It is of course your right to glory and take pride in such behaviour just as it is my right to be ashamed by it.

Thank God it didn't hit the ball boy but that piece of luck does not make it "alright"

I know I am not a proper football fan.
  • Thought that was a very different Charlton following to what came a couple of years ago. Seemed to be a lot more who seemed more keen for a bit of trouble.

To be honest it made for a better atmosphere and added a new dimension to this fixture. Thought you outsung us & our support was poor. That's what happens when a few thousand tag alongs come for a game a season.

Was surprised to see those flares & smoke bombs and the charge from your fans! Saw blokes running the length of the lower tier to get involved.

Not sure whether this steward & 12 year old girl thing is true, seems to be a baseless rumour.

As for the game, thought you were pretty poor attacking wise, although Hulse dominated Shittu, but defensively looked pretty solid, Leon Cort had a very good game I thought.

Good post. In comparison, Bunny is a mug.

Actually Lens reaction is exactly what I would have hoped for by every poster. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO THROW ANYTHING where there is the possibility of it hitting anyone. That is a fact whether you like it or not. I was rather hoping that our fans were better than those that follow Millwall. I was wrong.

It's not irrelevant at all. Someone said it nearly hit him, several people have said it didn't but I know which one you'd rather believe as it means you can make a mountain out of a molehill for a change. You weren't there so are not really in any position to judge. You'd have hated it anyway, people were standing and all sorts.

Could you point me in the direction where I took pride in it happening anyway please, I must have missed that?

Yup, all Charlton fans are damned by it, they'll be kicking in each and every one of our doors in, in the morning. What a load of old tosh you come out with. No on outside of Charlton or Millwall know or even CARE about it.

I despair at our lot, I really do.

You carry on, I can't be arsed.

Like SHG I erroneously thought we had better standards than Millwall fans too.

I find it disappointing to evidently be so out of step with the opinion of my fellow fans.

As a family fan I feel an anachronism at my own Club if the opinions expressed on this thread are representative.

Maybe reserve judgement until you see things first hand before informing us that we are all damned .
  • Didn't agree with missile chucking. Flare chucking. Vandalism etc as its dangerous and we as a club only have to pay for it.

Don't care about anything else. Good day.

    Nail on head.

The crap being spouted by people who weren't even at the game is unreal.

The flare was nowhere near anyone.

Two sets of fans goaded each other - shock! 99% of ours did it with good humour. 1% overstepped the mark.

Some of the reactions on here make you think that our fans had been raping and looting. Pathetic.
