Flare at the end and trouble

So as not to clog up the post-match thread.

The flare thrown onto the pitch missed the ball-boy's head by about a foot.

Maybe I'm crediting Millwall fans with more intelligence, but I got the feeling that was why we were acosted by foaming at the mouth in-breds in Ilderton Road telling us we were 'disgusting scum', pushing us around and asking fans whether they were Millwall or Charlton. I'm sure the mighty 'Red Division' would have run them all, but it was left to us others to put up with the aggro. Can't believe the coppers just had that small line out of the ground then left us all together.

  • a friend of mine just rang me to say a steward got stabbed its all over facebook and twitter ( don,t no how true it is )
  • Christ. I hope that's not true.
  • I didn't see a ballboy anywhere near either of the flare, although that's the line from Millwall supporters on Twitter and FB.
  • What Rothko said. Not a ballboy near it!
  • No ball boys anywhere near it. Landed in the penalty box
  • Hope all fans get home without too much trouble. Throwing flares were a stupid decision, whether it was near a ballboy or not (it can't have been as it happened at least a couple of minutes after FT).
  • It wasnt the flare that was near the ball boy it was the first somkebomb it missed the kids head by about two or three feet. I was in the lower tier in the corner and if I went around picking up the coins that landed near me i think I would have picked up atleast a fiver in coppers. Countless bottles and coins being thrown from both sets of fans. Didnt see anything outside but we left pretty sharpish a couple of fat mid thirties millwall giving it the big danny dyer impressions but thats all I saw outside the ground. Even before the end when there was a throw in solly and stephens had stuff thrown at them.
Not sure about the steward being stabbed but hope its not true.

agree no where near a ball boy, what about bottles being thrown by the scum morans!

  • !!! I honestly haven't looked at any gossip sites or anything... I remember thinking 'shit' for a couple of seconds, he was turned the other way at the time. (The flare to the left of the goal). It might have been a tad more than a foot, but I was genuinely worried for him for a split second, and thought he was quite lucky.

P.S. I'd never stick up for those inbreds!
  • The first flare narrowly missed a young boy's head. He was 1 of several boys in millwall tracksuits walking along the pitch after the game. The second one landed near nobody.

  • It's a load of bollocks from Millwall, always the victims, it's never, never, their fault. Their becoming the new scousers
  • That was mental, cant remember the last time if ever it went off inside a ground like that!

Apart from the argy bargy our support was spot on I thought. Loud and good
banter. Proper took the piss there i thought, which was funny! Two kick offs in the home ends as well did anyone else notice?
  • The scenes in the ground were nothing compared to what happened outside.

@MCS - yeah having a smoke outside at H-T and fisticuffs between two of ours!

I think our support generally did a good job at winding them up!!

Bit ironic given the general blame it all on Millwall tone if this thread.

When we met back at the car our driver who was sitting away from us,said she left when the first seat flew down from the top tier. True?

It was definitely brewing on our walk back. Lots of wanna be Danny Dyers strutting around and giving the big one.
  • I have never seen a flare, how big is it? Shouldn't the security mob pick it up before the game? I presume they still do the pat-downs before the game?
  • Saw an innocent Charlton fan take a bottle to the head on the way back
  • I thought their support was an embarrassment

They can take the piss and call us anoraks but we took the piss today

    Proud to be charlton

  • Posted this on the post match thread.

Came out of the ground and heard someone point me out by what I was wearing. Next minute he was right behind me calling me a spineless c**t then an older fella holding his kids hand started having a pop at me saying ive been found out. God knows what I done but a copper told them where to go and luckily I got away. They've really got issues that lot.

I ended up turning around and asking him what his problem was and he just walked past me. He had his chance to hit me but didn't luckily. Mouthed off drawing attention to everyone that I was Charlton. You can spot a scumbag when he is holding his 7-8 year old sons hand looking to punch someone

The return game at The Valley will be interesting!

    Also proud to be Charlton.
  • What amazes me is that the Old Bill and Stewards just stand and watch them. The bloke with helmet hair and his fat bastard mate in the lower tier to the right spent 90mins giving wanker signs, cut throats, pointing people out and waving them outside. Coppers just stood laughing.
  • Not sure why you've quoted red division in this when the stuff on the pitch was nothing to do with us so I don't really appreciate the bitchy comment..
  • OFF TOPIC: A 12 year old female Charlton Fan has been hospitalized after being punched in the face by a Millwall fan and a steward has been rushed into a hospital after being stabbed in the neck by a Millwall fan.

Biggest bunch of tossers in football, still next time they will back to their normal 9,000 bell ends spread around the rusting hulk, amusingly known as the "new" den................

probably because "that's just how you follow millwall", of course, they're nice normal guys really...
  • The smokebomb which was thrown onto the pitch was DEFINITELY very close to a ball boy. I remember seeing it and thinking how stupid that was. The flare however was nowhere near anyone.
  • left at the final whistle so didnt see anything in the ground and had no trouble when away fans merged with home outside.

By this time tomorrow the Spanners will have built this up to be similar to an Israeli attack on Gaza and will be using it to justify everything they have been doing week in, week out for decades.

Still a stupid and dangerous thing that some charlton fan/s did which needs to be condemned and be stopped. Don't care if some people moan about "grassing", whoever it was needs to be identified and banned. Just hope it wasn't the red division.
