Flare at the end and trouble

  • Live and let live. If people want to behave like that, let them get on with it aslong as its not effecting you.

I don't wish to be rude, but you're not very intelligent are you?
It is obvious that setting off flares, smoke bombs & throwing a seat/seats, IS effecting all Charlton supporters.
I was getting texts from Millwall fans straight away, saying that "we called it on Ultra fashion & whoever done that has fucked the away leg & it's a different game now. So when it all goes to shit at The Valley, have a good think before you apportion blame."

No doubt the smoke/flare boys will be tucked away nice 'n cosy in MacDonalds or similar, when the rest of us, take the consequences.

So don't say it's not effecting anyone. I should imagine nearly all the Charlton pubs will be shut etc etc & I expect quite a few could get hurt come March.

I thought our singing & support was brilliant & we outsung them for the 1st time in my lifetime, but the rest was over stepping the mark. QPR pulled the Lion's tail as they say & looked what happened to them.

You "kids" are pretty clueless I'm afraid.

    This.

You don't "play" at this sort of thing.

I dont wear replica shirts and im a (reasonably) young and over 6foot bloke......very much doubt if some herbert cottons on that im charlton in march that they would give the slightest shit that i dont go in for all of that sort of carry on before dishing out a slap (or worse).

Terrific support and atmosphere from us on Saturday, but I cannot help feeling that there will be some type of repercussions from the idiot spanners over these events. Probably won't be at the massively over Policed home game, but when least expected, in one of our pubs or certainly away from the ground. Wouldn't put anything past them TBH and I'm sure they won't care who they target.

The Buccaneers will be in town for the home game.

    Exactly!!
  • Don't patronise me Covered End. I'm an easy going person and literally don't see the point in sitting on the Internet crying about something that has happened. It will resolve nothing.
I like to think i've got my head screwed. on so wasn't involved in stuff like that because I know that Millwall fans are not your ordinary fans, but I just refuse to sit there slagging off our own fans.

I for one didn't throw, light, smear anything so no MOG I will not be paying the bill what a ridiculous question.

Also would like to clear up, the throwing of smoke bombs and flares was nothing to do with the Red Division. Only the smoke at the start when the teams came out and one at the end which wasn't thrown.

Agreed come march there will be stabbings and all sorts. Millwal love all this and they can point the finger now and say charlton started it.

  • Makes me laugh people on here saying, what makes you fit and not fit to be a charlton supporter, get a grip.

Live and let live. If people want to behave like that, let them get on with it aslong as its not effecting you.

It's done now, get on with it

Have you ever been confronted by 3k away supporters trying to smash your head in at any cost?

If you can';t see how it AFFECTS all of us, I feel sad for you. The actions of a few tar the whole club with the same brush.
  • Covered end if you were getting texts like that you should consider more carefully who you give your number too. Sound like a bunch of Danny dyers.

If someone text me crap like that I'd tell em to sod off and delete.

    The lions tail.. Cringe.

  • stabbings and all sorts?!!!

    FFS get a grip.

It may not have affected me on Saturday, but there is a possibility it will in the return game.

There will be ramifications and it will be nothing nice. Those Happy Meal hoolichildren are out of their depth and will experience a very rude awakening should they bother to turn up.

If you get smacked in your simple head, don't come snivelling on here.
  • My mate said to me 'You poke a Lion and it will bite back'. I said 'you stab a Lion with a sword and it dies'. Idle threats.

I'm sorry but who do you think you are? Don't talk to me like your above me.
Clearly stated it wasn't anything to so with me, obviously your simple mind couldn't get past that bit
  • The build up to the visit to the Toolbox started about 1 month before the game, the build for the return fixture has already started. Can anybody tell me the best way to get to the valley from Dartford. :-)
  • I can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading here.

People were really worried before Saturday and everyone came back in one piece.

I'm sure millwall will come to the valley in march and rip a few seats and do a bit of pipe work but there will be a huge police presents and people will be safe.

It's still raw for them and there's all talk cos they got outsung and ripped a poxy seat out. Let it die down and stop worrying.

Talk of stabbings etc is plain embarrassing

Greenie Junior the point we are all trying to make is that it DOES affect us all, but you don't seem to understand that.

    stabbings and all sorts?!!!

    FFS get a grip.

People get stabbed and "all sorts" at football and not always confined to people who are interested in that side of things.

As was pointed out on here the dimension of the fixture has changed now and i doubt it will be a case of going to the game with millwall mates, giving a few nescafes from the safety of the stands then meeting up for a friendly beer afterwards like it has been in recent years.

They will have people there looking to hurt any charlton regardless of if you are a "lad" or not i imagine.

I hope im being a drama queen but wont be surprised. People need to think that their actions do have consequences affecting others including those of us who dont want anything to do with that sort of bollocks.

  • FFS some people need to calm down. Whilst there's no doubt it will 'go off' in the return game i'm sure Millwall won't resort to stabbing people. Even they're not that low.

It'll probably be a lunchtime kick off, pubs will be shut (which i'm sure they were last time we played them at home) and police will be doing over time. People need to chill out.

As others have said it's more likely to kick off when you don't expect it, i notice they're at home the day we've got Palace away. Watch your back that day!

I'm not patronising you. I'm trying to explain to you that you are wrong, when you say these actions, haven't affected all Charlton supporters. I haven't accused you personally of doing any of that & I'm pretty confident that you didn't do anymore than me & sing your heart out. But you are the one saying that it hasn't effected anyone else, when it quite clearly has. Why do you think the police wanted to question one of your mates pre match ? Because they feared what might get stirred up ?

Makes me laugh you trying desperately to protect and excuse your mates who took the flare to the game.

You went too far and while I don't believe that Millwall will bring any more wrath down on SE7 than "normal" what you are your mates did was stupid and took the shine off an otherwise brilliant away day.

    You've completely missed the point.

I said because it didn't affect me at the time that doesn't preclude it from affecting me, or anyone else for that matter,in the return match.

    Simple.

Isn't it time to move on guys?

    1. We have some fans who thought some of our guys went over the line.

    2. We have some fans who loved it that we went there balls out and stood up for ourselves.

Neither side of the argument will persuade the other. Nothing new is being added. Move on eh?

  • According to the Vital Millwall forum, they will be treating their trip to The Valley as if they were playing West Ham

    They'll get lost then!

  • For some reason all this chat of the return leg has just made me think of this.
