We already have the moral high-ground, as a club and it's fans. We encourage family values and inclusion policies. We have been innovative (Curbs/Gritt dual coaches, Fans' Director, etc etc), and have survived the imposters that are triumph and disaster, with our reputation intact.
Why would we throw this away by throwing flares and smashing up seats in front of a club that preaches equality and fairness but will NEVER shake off its real identity.
I never saw a single non-white face in their crowd. After 20 minutes they started a ferocious fight among themselves. They abuse substitutes while warming up and throw coins. Their child mascot runs onto the pitch waving the idiots into battle. At the end, 60 year old men are waiting outside to pick fights. They are proud to say nobody likes them.
Fellow Charlton fans, we are better than this. Our vocal support is amazing, we had already won the day by silencing the neanderthals, but we made ourselves look cheap by stooping to their sub-human level.
agree 100%
And can't believe that SLL, who practically lives on here didn't realise that the "midget" was Chris Solly. Otherwise a surprisingly level headed summation from the spanner. He almost seems decent compared to Bunny. Almost
When you say "we" do you mean the two people that threw the flare/ripped out the chair or do you mean the 3,598 that didnt ?
My non-white point is that whilst they preach anti-racism, there is little or no evidence of it among their supporters.
So what are you getting at? A club that had a 2nd generation immigrant chairman. A club that had a Jamaican female cheif exec. A club that has voted a African Muslim as their player of the season who previously voted for an African the year before and who currently idolise Danny Shittu. What are you driving at?
SLL. All your points are valid. Well done for all those. Not so well done for the moronic knuckle dragging supporters you have aplenty that racially abuse every black player the opposition have.

Exactly my point again: Full marks for all of those positives, now tell it to Frimpong and Haynes. The boardroom has no control over the calibre of supporter that the club reputation attracts.

Dat's alright do' cos dey ain't like the rest of 'em innit? honorary white people and all dat.
The idea that you could claim that Millwall isn't a racist club is ridiculous.
I would bet valiant Phil there are more black fans at millwall than charlton still I know of three that went yesterday , they have a large Turkish support as well
I would say there are as many racists at our place than there are at millwall.
Ours just dont shout about it quite as loudly.
Agree with this. I suspect there are a few on this forum but when it's openly done week in week out at their shithole of a stadium and yet the stewards, police, fellow fans and ultimately the lip service anti racist board they have fail to act then I am as a football supporter very saddened.

The fans did vote for those players of the year, the boardroom didn't.
I popped down there in the first half, most of the banter was good natured with them giving it back as well, I'm guessing that didn't continue then.

Not sure how you can know how many racists there are at Charlton.
Regardless, of course there are some at Charlton as at every club. The big big crucial difference is that racist songs get shouted down and the club deal with the singers at Charlton. That's why we don't hear the Lisbie song any more. It's not acceptable at Charlton and a good thing too.
At Millwall it is tolerated as we can see from the on-going abuse of black subs. They know it happens, they do next to nothing other than makes excuses ("we had a Black CEO once") or blame the victims
Fuming that I couldn't make the game in the end and had to pass on my ticket, but proud of the boys not folding and getting the point, proud of my fellow fans who stood up and f*cked off the Pink Polo Brigade, mate said it was the best away trip he's been on in terms of letting people know that we are Charlton and we are no pushovers on or off the field. Long may it continue, I'd rather have a rep for being noisy and boisterous than being happy clappy anoraks!
Just cut out the muggy throwing things and breaking stuff, I know it's only 2-3 people out of the 3,600, but the press won't focus on that unfortunately.
All this macho posturing of some fans really does my head in it is so 70s/80s.I am all for local rivalries but smoke bombs, flares offering people out, is that really what Football is all about?I don't like Millwall, never have done, but it is about time some 40 and 50 year olds grew up from both Millwall and Charlton and other clubs.I didn't go yesterday as I had a ticket for the England NewZealand game.A fantastic atmosphere at that game, great stadium, all supporters sitting together.Proper physical contest on the pitch,a game played by real men.Had a drink afterwards with some NewZealanders and was a great day with England winning.

Shamed our club, embarrassing. Blah, blah, blah.
Teams tried to target him aerially last year and surprisingly he felt with them all very well. He's certainly not the weak link in the side.

What's the excuse this time?
Whilst i don't agree with moaning about it on twitter, do you really think they'd bother to just make it up.
