Just you tubed yesterday. The mug throwing the chair, he's lucky he didn't take out some of our own below. How anyone can stick up for that is beyond me.
People that hunt for trouble in packs are cowards. Throwing flares and smoke bombs does not belong in our game. The warriors are on the pitch, let them get on with it and give them full support. All this talk about trouble from, probably, a few hundred people, and all the talk of trouble at the next home game against Millwall takes me back so many, many years. I thought we'd all got over all that sick, cowardly stuff. CAFC and it's fans don't get involved in any of this type of shite. It's waht seperates us from the scum of Millwall, Leeds, Cardiff etc.
Didn't go to the game but got a pretty good idea what it was like judging by what people have said.
There are genuine fans of Millwall football club yes, but the return fixture is going to involve a lot of thugs from the den seeking a retaliation of some sort. I think that scummy lot have it in their heads that they will always be respected off the field out of fear.
I just hope when it comes round innocents at the valley don't get the bitter end of it.
FFS why do we have to always turn it on ourselves?
Black players DON'T get abuse whilst warming up, DON'T have a problem with racism Charlton. It's Millwall that had the problem stop turning this into something about us even its fuck all to do with us.
What a great day ... waited a long, long time for that ... the team showed up and gave everything, were not intimidated at all ... and the fans were immense and all the noise was generated from our end. The response to the 'Murrrr' chant was hilarious.
Don't you feel so sorry for the spanners? ... away fans are meant to be quiet and 'respectful' ... perhaps even a little scared! ... didn't happen this time did it chaps!
I would say there are as many racists at our place as there are at millwall.
Ours just dont shout about it quite as loudly.
How would you no they're racist?
Things you see and hear and read in 25 years + following charlton.
seen and heard the majority of charlton fans then?
Read it again and dont look to get offended where no offence is meant. The majority, actually vast majoity of the millwall i know or have known are not racist.
The same as the vast majority of ours aren't. The racism there is more vocal at their ground than it is at ours but i dont think the getting on our high horse with Sparrows Lane Lion about it is fair and it doesnt read in his posts like he's too proud of it/ defending it.

I really despair at our supporters sometime.
Don't get what you are saying. Do you really think that out of 15,000 Charlton supporters there are not a good many racists ? The point is that on the whole our crowd disapproves of this and would not tolerate the overt racism you get at for example The Den.
We already have the moral high-ground, as a club and it's fans. We encourage family values and inclusion policies. We have been innovative (Curbs/Gritt dual coaches, Fans' Director, etc etc), and have survived the imposters that are triumph and disaster, with our reputation intact.
Why would we throw this away by throwing flares and smashing up seats in front of a club that preaches equality and fairness but will NEVER shake off its real identity.
I never saw a single non-white face in their crowd. After 20 minutes they started a ferocious fight among themselves. They abuse substitutes while warming up and throw coins. Their child mascot runs onto the pitch waving the idiots into battle. At the end, 60 year old men are waiting outside to pick fights. They are proud to say nobody likes them.
Fellow Charlton fans, we are better than this. Our vocal support is amazing, we had already won the day by silencing the neanderthals, but we made ourselves look cheap by stooping to their sub-human level.
Absolute nonsense!! So 150-200 millwall charge in the corner, what do you want people to do. It's embarrassing being seen as squares and transporters. Charlton should be proud of yesterday's turn out. Why's everyone getting so bothered. Most involved have been going home and away for years!!

Exactly.
People seem to take satisfaction of going on the Internet and taking the moral high ground or digging our own out.

So why bring it up then?
Fact is it was Millwall fans racially a absuing a black player again and suddenly people are saying we've got our own rascist. Why? It totally takes away from the point that it was MILLWALL abusing Frimpong and Haynes.
It seems some people just feel the need to find a stick to beat our own fans with for no reason.

There are far too many hypocrites here. I think the majority of Charlton fans would all call themselves as being above Millwall fans in terms of behaviour at games. We also like to accuse them of having an excuse for all their bad behaviour.
Well what I'm reading here from some is exactly the same. There is no excuse for throwing flares/seats or any other missile at a football match. Yet there are those, who are defending it "was only a flare", "they deserved it", I'm sorry but those are excuses and it is exactly the sort of thing we accuse them of doing.
I don't think anyone thinks we are similar to Millwall fans. Those that have mentioned about our support have mentioned that they have noticed a growing number of people who want to act the Danny Dyer. I have to agree, there does seem to be a growing number of idiots who for going to games is not about watching football our supporting your team by just being loud and singing your heart out.

Not sure how you can know how many racists there are at Charlton.
Regardless, of course there are some at Charlton as at every club. The big big crucial difference is that racist songs get shouted down and the club deal with the singers at Charlton. That's why we don't hear the Lisbie song any more. It's not acceptable at Charlton and a good thing too.
At Millwall it is tolerated as we can see from the on-going abuse of black subs. They know it happens, they do next to nothing other than makes excuses ("we had a Black CEO once") or blame the victims
Then they offer up a 12 year old boy as the perpetrator.
The abuse that Haynes got on twitter last night crossed the line in my view. Are they really saying that Ellington,Sordell,Fimpong and Haynes are all liars?
Our fans were magnificent yesterday up until the flare throwing and seat ripping out.
The mirrrrrrrrwall reposte and the Jeremy Kyle song was top banter as others have said lets support our team the Charlton way and not be dragged down to the Millwall level.
I also agree with others that the Jeremy Kyle song would not work if it is sang everywhere and should be only sang at Millwall games.
Good to see SLL come on after the game out of all of our Lions,he respects that this is after all a Charlton site and he is a valued guest. He has never tried to pretend he is someone he isn't.

I'm glad someone understands my point of view! You put it a lot better than I did too!
As an old boy I'm trying to act my age and feel disgusted, but 50 odd years of having to put up with that crap club and their fans makes me think "Na, can't be bovvered" It's just horses for courses.
And here lies the problem there is no place for fireworks or the like at football matches. Some of our juvenile supporters need to understand where the line is and should not be overstepped. Go to Blackheath on Guy Fawkes night rather than glorify something that might injure or bring sanction against the club.
When you say "we" do you mean the two people that threw the flare/ripped out the chair or do you mean the 3,598 that didnt ?
That is exactly my point.
Nobody will differentiate, the 2 that did from the 3598 that didn't. Just like them, we (as a supporters group) will be thought of as troublemakers and vandals.
My non-white point is that whilst they preach anti-racism, there is little or no evidence of it among their supporters.
Valiant Phil is spot on.
I am a Charlton fan and am now damned by association.
