I can't believe this thread has reached four pages based on a rumour posted on another forum. Did the poster have an inside line into WHU like some on here? Or was it the Hammer's version of Ackworth. We seem to have third hand confirmation above that the man himself has no knowledge of any contact. Can we pu this to bed until Big Sam opens his big gob?
It's the transfer silly season. Except that all the best players are at the Euros, so the internet gossip merchants have to go down the ladder to get some transfer speculation. Give it a couple of weeks then we can get back to reading stories abour Robin van Persie...
The only other thing I wanted this season was to see a Solly goal which actually counted. Would of been so happy for him. He scored against Exeter or Chesterfield at home which crossed the line and didnt count.
I'd hate to see Solly go, but if it was a good fee then no one is irreplaceable. Some money could then be re-invested in 3-4 good young players like we did with the Jenkinson money. I think Solly is worth at least £3m though, and we ought to put an sell-on clause in too.
don't want to see him go but be more concerned if we lost Kermo. Both are going to be targets for other clubs. The best players in teams who finish top of the league are always going to be targets. Wouldn't worry about it. The club are in a position now where they will only sell if it helps us advance so ultimately it's down to CP's judgement and he hasn't done badly so far has he?
Nothing in it. Charlton are going places fast! why would he leave us for that two bob little lot? Probably all come about because West Pigs right back is pony! Big season for Solly next season at Charlto. Top player in a top side. COME ON YOU REDS!!!
My one memory of Hoyte comes from the game against Arsenal at the Valley when the ref did everything to help them win. Hoyte tore Lisbie's boot into tatters with a two footed lunge, shortly before RVP kicked Fat Jimmy in an off the ball incident. Hoyte's challenge was not even a freekick and RVP, who went on to score a wonderful winner, was only booked. Gallas then got a way with a blatant handball

Anyone even contemplating us letting him go....just say Solly and go and sit in the corner and think about what you have done. He's ours, I tell you....ours.
I am not sure that Solly would fit in with the WHU style their supporters are always talking about as he tends to play his way out of defence, play quick one two's and keeps the ball on the deck. Surely they are looking for a proper back who can hoof it down the chanels. For that reason, he is just not going.

Arrghhh...it came off his freaking shin!!!!
Indeed but his shin is better than most people's feet, although not in Eur02012 (btw I think he is talented but a horrible nasty little git of a player)

5 pages all based on "I heard a rumour from a mate who's mum works for blah blah blah". What utter nonsense.
As far as selling any of our starting 11, whatever we get offered, is it enough to replace him with someone as good and young enough to have a re-sell value and some cash left over for our troubles?
If the answer to any of the above is no then tell them to go do one.
Now, let's keep away from the silly FR s(h)ite and enjoy the euros................................

It's amazing how a story from a mates mum makes the national newspapers! Not really surprised about the amount of comments here. Solly is a very important player for us, him potentially leaving us is a pretty big talking point - particularly for a football forum!

Hurray! Some sense at last.

Premiership football and treble his wages ?
Middlesbrough - He wouldn't go there, surely!!!
