He will go down a storm in the Championship next season and still be one of our best players so whatever he is worth now will be doubled come May 2013
And he's got 2 yrs left on his contract - we should really be fighting to keep our best player. I say we put a 5m pricetag on him and force spam and the others to reconsider bidding.
If the rumours are true then I suppose it depends on what state the clubs finances are in. I have heard we are in a good position but I dont think anyone really knows how good. If we can afford not to sell him then we should do everything we can to keep him.
The only reason I can think of for selling solly , is to get Sam baldock - who apparently is our top 'striker target' , it would/could also help bring other targets in
I think to sell our player of the season to get a striker who has not proved himself in the Championship is a gamble. If this is what it takes to get Baldock I would rather walk away from the deal, keep Solly and look at another striker
If so, West Ham evidently haven't yet approached him or the club.
I suppose his name is on some wish list, that has been leaked. And now people are readily accepting losing him if the money is right.
Nothing will happen unless a written offer is made.
And as Solly is under contract for a further 2 years, it is not a forgone conclusion that he would be transferred unless that is what all parties want.
Dont really want to see him go, but if he did i think its better to replace a right back than a top scorer or attacking midfielder ( A good one of course ) I'll stick my head out though and say its a done deal Baldock to us with Solly going the other way. Justin Hoyte to replace Solly and young Ansah coming in for a season long loan from Arsenal.

For the first time in years we have two mobile skilful full backs and it makes a huge difference to our style of play and its effectiveness. No-one is irreplaceable of course, but would like to see those guys develop with us rather than somewhere else.
I don't mean to be rude but those that don't seem bothered about him going don't really undertsand football. He has a decent contract so the club should take the position that anybody who wants him now is going to have to pay well over the odds for him - well over!!!!
POTY and Solly has got too big for his boots. an insider at the Club tells me that he wants his own dressing room, a security team of 4 on matchdays, silk shorts and a supply of Gibraltan rock monkeys to play with during half time. he has also demanded his own chat show where he talks to people who have deep regrets which he wants to call "Say Solly to Solly".
