  • I remember coming to selhurst in 89, you was already relegated but I swear we had more Wednesday in the ground then Charlton.
  • Sorry guys but there are other sites where this sort of s###e is a more suitable topic of conversation.
Well said Bournemouth, we dont need this crap being discussed on here and as Owlsonlineadmin says we are a family club.
  • yeah right, united will fill the jimmy seed
  • All clubs are family clubs as most people go with family

Hardly a home match for us though...

Attendances at Selhurst were never good except when we played the likes of Arsenal, Man U etc when the numbers were bolstered by away fans.

You know what I was trying to say, talk of "revenge", "taking it to em" and "results outside the ground" dont belong on this site.
  • I do,but it did happen

F.A.O. Owl fans; these clubs are MASSIVE, you're not on that level, Leeds are though.

Still embarrassing though being outnumbered by an away team at home, you have never had big gates really, well not in modern times, you even had to catch fans living in Kent and provide free buses for them, it's a nice touch but it proves that your support had to be bolstered by your own club giving out freebies.

A bit sad that you are spending your life trying to troll on a board aimed at another club. Takes all sorts I suppose...

never been free - not sure what part of £7 you think is free?

Why do you think we would provide free transport to people who don't even support Charlton?

Supporters have always had to pay on Valley Express and the vast majority were Charlton supporters anyway. Yes some who used the service would have supported other clubs but any business is always looking to increase its profile.

Because we came up with an iniative that got lapsed supporters back in the ground we're obviously "nicking supporters of other clubs".

As we're in League 1 if we had just "nicked" other clubs supporters the Valley Express service would have stopped as soon as we were relegated from the Premier League.

    Jealousy is a terrible thing.

  • Wednesday's record crowd: 72,841
    Charlton's      record crowd: 75,031

    MASSIVE!

The coaches were never free apart from on the odd occasion when we were trying to get especially big numbers to follow us to away games (the FA Cup QF at Middlesbrough I think?) and if you go on a Valley Express coach, you'll find that a large majority (~95%) of the supporters have supported Charlton all their life, it's just more convienent/cost-effective than taking a train or driving.
