Had a tenner bet with a huddersfield fan in our Leeds office years ago - said we'd score at least 3 goals against them at theirs. We did (it was the 98 promotion season i think) and he faxed a tenner down and never paid up. Yorkshiremen - Tight and miserable, the lot of em.
Wasn't that the 3-0 win, my first trip to the McAlpine. Peter Jackson's first game in charge if i remember right.
Left work early today to set off for the Sheffield 'Weekender Bender'. Up the M1 tonight, a few beers, stay with relatives in Walkley near Hillsborough, fried brekkie about 11:00 before going to either Old Barrak Tavern or Kelham Island. All before the important game against the Wendys. Win lose or draw will go back to Kelham Island before going on to West Street for a final few beers. Home on Sunday, hopefully with 3 points. COYR!

Don't know, didn't go - think it was a night match. Robinson, Newton, Mortimer etc playing. We were playing really well at the time and i felt very confident about it. I went up there a few years before and watched us lose - as dull as.
was sheff utd away a pay on the day game as well and if so how many did compared to how many pre bought? Anybody know and does it look likely we'll have 2k up there saturday?
No chance. Possibly 1,400.
1,400 Addicks will make more noise than 13,000 Fulham...FACT
Can't believe my frustration of missing the game yesterday through having a major operation on my shoulder, should have been early morning but got delayed to 1pm, got back to my room at 3:10pm all drugged up and not knowing where I was, somebody knew my interest in football and decided to put sky on, only to find there was no reception, so they put radio Kent on, and took all my vital statistics which where they should be, anyway at around 3:30 the alarms on the monitoring system started to sound, nurses, doctors come flying from all directions only to find Charlton where winning 1 nil, and my blood pressure had gone through the roof. Bloody football, doctors wanted to turn the radio off, but I managed to talk them out of it.
Well done to everyone who went up there, hoping to be fit enough to go Saturday, but there is doubt over this.
