  • may be a few who pay on the day
    that old chestnut
  • I tell you what will is the experience of being one big vocal unit come what may win lose or draw that was experienced yesterday. It was big and positive and this coupled by a good performance is what makes for a good away support . Fo the first time in a long time There is a vibrancy around the valley and at Fulham and even Orient the other day. Lets capture that for every game
Give you that Bromley, a few more in numbers would not go amiss shough. Having said that the support has picked up over the past few months, lets keep it up(to excuse the expression)

  • We will sell around 1000, maybe a few more after Saturday, plus the pay on the days makes a decent number imho. It is January, when everyone is skint, trains are far from cheap and we all know our away numbers are at best average. I know it is a huge game, but realistically, over 1000 for us is in my view respectable.
  • Thing is this time next week it could be only 2 points in it, all of a sudden your lead looks fragile and we could be top in a few weeks, other teams around you are catching you now too, Mk Dons in mid week - no problem.

BTW, Blackpool is a winnable tie away, winning breeds confidence oh and thanks for Semedo, he gets better and better - class act that lad.

By the way who did FFC get in the cup?
If they are catching us they are even closer to you....

Suppose the line of our numbers being average says it all, agree with you there cafcdan18

I think we should all ignore owls1867 as some of the things he says are quite ridiculous, or at best he is a wind up merchant. Do not respond and he will get bored

  • Exactly EA, so no point us beating ourselves up about it really.

I'll be there. Not going to slag anyone off or run our support down in general if they don't go though.

I'll run with that offit. Still annoying 7k yesterday and 1k next week, for after all is a much more important game, never mind.

Look on it as a deliberate ploy to avoid the continuation of the standing/sitting debate if we'd sold the end out - and be thankful!

  • Can we be more positive and encourage others to go rather than be pessimistic. Build on yesterdays experience ....that's what the team need
If our results can't do it I do not know what else will

    Exactly.

  • Would love to do this one.

Alas, Xmas, Allday and Night Session at Fulham and it being a week before payday mean that unless I find £50.00 in the gutter I'll be labelled a plastic next weekend.

Just say we do only end up taking 1200 or so to Hillsborough, no one is seriously suggesting that those who do make the trip are going to be sitting there moping and going 'oh, we haven't brought many' are they? Of course not - those who do go are gonna be LOUD and proudly supporting the boys, doing it for those who can't make it. Numbers don't always mean a disaster.
Have you never seen Zulu? ;)

Yeah saw a load of them when we got beat 3-2 up there in 2008

The most sensible thing you've posted for a looooong time, EA.

Let's do it. You know it makes sense. More important things to discuss & ponder......

.....like what flavour soup to take in our flasks next Saturday.

yeah righto, of course criticism is not allowed here, people frown on it. I would have loved to have been on this fansboard, which is actually good, in the Dowie/Reed/Pardew periods. I take it there was no flak flying then?!
  • Who posted that ?

Yeah they got massacred :-) Not following your logic :-)

Er, yeah they did but they went down singing. Perhaps not the best example then. I just can't think of any other times when small numbers triumphed against insummountable odds???
It's 3 points for the Addicks anyway :)
  • i thought the british won that battle. who only had a few numbers against the zulus thousands. and the welsh were singing.

anyway, how about john mclane in die hard? took on all those terrorists and won! yipy ki a!

If it's a really poor turnout you could always be inspired by '300', though admittedly that isn't a great look for a January day up north...or anywhere ever.
  • 1,000 sold

Coach places still available, including at Canterbury, Faversham & Medway, as well as the usual places. Fare £20.
  • 1,000 is a fair effort, POTG should swell that to 1,500 for Saturday
  • Depends ... my son and his mates want to go but cheapest train fare appears to be 90 quid

My Dad has the same problem taking me. : (
  • still spaces on megatrains...£35 return
  • you can get a return from london for £48 or about £35 with a railcard
  • Make that 1003 now

    Sounds about right to me.
  • we'll know that we have brought enough if we bring so many that they open the lower tier of the away end, last year it was only 1000 so the top tier was all that was open for away fans
