P.S. Don't forget to get back on your high horse and direct your ire to FoD and Stu for calling Nathan an 'idiot'. No less harsh than 'tool' and I'm sure you would hate to feel like you were being discriminating.
Kermorgant won't find it easy in the air .. Llera is what 6' 4" ?? and Jones is even taller as well as being one of the best and most experienced if not the fastest centre backs in the division. The way to beat t'Owls is on the ground, accurate passing and pace
I havn't booked yet, but really keen to go. Can anyone recommend the cheapest way of getting there because at the moment that's the stumbling block for me.

Nat Express Coach probably .. booked in advance, but, of course, it depends where you're travelling from .. is there not a subsidised CAFC coach or three going ?

Rob Jones is a lumbering hoofer with little going for him except his height. He's relatively dangerous at the other end because of it but look no further than the picture of Stephens missing his great chance at The Valley, while the pitch is littered with Wednesday defenders somehow on their arses, for evidence of this. Being 'experienced' at this level is more of an indictment of quality than evidence of it. And you really think Llera's height matters? You clearly didn't see him jump for a header against Walsall, miss it completely and allow Walsall to get the win over Wednesday. Height is meaningless if you can or can't use your footballing attributes. Are you one of the people who wrote of Solly for his height? If so, good call on that..
I want to go by car . I live in Bromley and am going to drive . Does anyone want to share petrol costs?. Could probably take 2 in my Fiesta.I wont be on here for long so just post and I will get back to you on this thread
Not here for meaningless digs that get assigned as "banter"; there are enough numpties that visit our respective forums to take care of that.
Just here to say I am really looking forward to this one even more than the Sheffield derby; not for the vociferous passion (as it won't come close) but for the match itself. I hope as many of you can make it up to S6 as possible - we've been getting 23k plus recently so I hope that at least that many get to see this game, which I anticipate will be by far the biggest test we've had at home this season.
Not sucking up, but your are undoubtedly the best team in this division; the number of points you have accumulated to date is testament. Look at last season for some perspective - the league at the top was nowhere near as high in terms of points accumulation; at this stage Brighton were on 43 points. The league at the top is much more competitive this season too.
Chris Powell I regard as a proper gent - always humble and complimentary in post match interviews - and clearly he is getting stuff right on the pitch. You have some good players too; BWP is a threat with his pace and our backline will be susceptible to that (as you have identified). Green is also a tidy looking player with a great delivery; Megson chased him in the summer but to no avail.
However, there are some misconceptions about our side which you may be labouring under:
we are not the squad you played on TV at the start of the season; the squad was paper thin then.
teams accuse us of hoofing it and bully boy tactics - we get this because of our manager, simple as. We are effective at set pieces due to our size. We get it up the field quickly but when there we do play some nice stuff. What's more annoying is that teams who label us as hoofball merchants quite unjustifiably compare themselves to Barcelona in terms of style and quality - most notably MK Dons and their shit wasp of a manager Karl Robinson. Joker
It will be interesting to see; we have a couple of Charlton rejects, you have some Wednesday rejects. Morrison it seems can only play under Uncle Chris, but when he does, it seems he is very strong. Leon Clarke - well he has lost alot of weight, which he needed to, but he cannot lose his stinking attitude.
Looking forward to it. Hope to see alot of you occupying the Leppings Lane End.
My prediction:
You will edge it on the deck, we will be more dangerous on set pieces.

UTO! FTB!
Thanks for the sensible post. Both sets of fans have their share of muppets who like to go on to the opposition's forum and spout drivel. I voiced my discontent at some of our own earlier in the thread (although perhaps I shouldn't have bothered as the Charlton-PC brigade began crawling out of the woodwork within minutes).
Back to the game, I too am really looking forward to this one. I think it's fair to say that both teams have improved a lot since our previous meeting at the Valley and both teams will be keen to show that improvement this time round.
Since the arrival of Yann Kermogant, who is excellent in the air and technical with his feet, we too are now able to mix things up by either passing on the deck or going more direct. Many of our goals are scored from headers, similar to Wednesday, thanks to our aerial threat and excellent crossing ability primarily in the form of Danny Green.
Both teams have power and pace in the team, particularly on the wing...I can see this one ending 2-2 if I'm honest, with a much more entertaining display from both parties. A good away point for the Addicks.
Fair assessment I think TheWednesday. Personally I don't think we're playing anywhere near well enough at the moment to put Sheffield out of sight in the next two games, but then again it may be these sort of games that lift the players.
As this game falls on my birthday I was really looking forward to it.....................until my missus informed me "I've arranged to take you out on your birthday". It's a surprise and she won't tell me where (guarantee it won't be hillsborough). I would say "no, I'm going to sheffield" but this game's not MASSIVE enough to starve me of sex for the next 6 months....................................

Overated passtime Tangoflash support the lads and if the worst comes to the worst theres always DIY!
Fair play from the Wednesday fan above, good to read some sense from the oppo now and again and not just "banter" that quickly becomes boring.
I too am looking forward to the game (in fact out next two for entirely different reasons) and will be making the trip back up to sheffield for what I am sure will be 90 minutes of blood and thunder and a whole load of nerves as well as revisiting some of my old student haunts up there in the evening!
It seems that aside from a total nightmare end at Walsall you have gained some real momentum in recent weeks though unfortunately for you we have remained resiliant and MK and your neighbours have also matched you almost point for point.
Provided we defend well from set plays, start fast and avoid injuries beforehand I think we will get a result and I can see a score draw.
Would take the draw, think you need the win more than we do and it is our most testing away game left by far on current form with the chance to put Shef U another three points back the following week.
Good luck for the rest of the season, besides the 14th, would much rather a proper club up than that godforesaken village side off the M1.
I got tickets via thetrainline.com just before Christmas - £20 there and £17 back. Booked on the 9.25 from St. Pancras, so shall hop in a taxi and hopefully make the Fat Cat for opening time at 12. The timing's not ideal after Christmas, although I'll be disappointed if we can't take 1,500 up there. Unlike the rest of our party, I'll be watching the game with a Wednesday supporting mate in the South Stand and adopting an Alf Ramseyesque demeanour when we score.
Look at megabus for future away games, they sometimes use the trains. I went to Notts County by train for £2.50 return
Cheers for comments all. I genuinely wish Charlton well, with the exception of the 14th. A similar story of financial mismanagement that saw our clubs freefall through the divisions; yours over a shorter time granted as you've been in the Prem more recently than us. Hope fully both clubs are on the rise and will be there again, get the imposters of Bolton and Wigan et al out.
That photo is a great snap CAFCdamo, which unfortunately captured perfectly our rather desperate defending that night.
Here's one I obviously prefer: Semedo shitting on/out Nick Montgomery of the Blades at Bramhall Lane:
Cheers for him btw, I hear he had some detractors down at your place with regards to certain aspects of his game (and no doubt they are suggesting your current crop is better), but his stamina, work rate and strength in the tackle are something a SWFC midfield has been missing for so long.
Welcome @TheWednesday, thanks for posting your thoughts.
I'd certainly feel a lot more comfortable about Wednesday on our tail if Ben Marshall got called back to Stoke !
Feel these games are getting overplayed a little. At the end of the day, there will still be 20-odd games left to follow, so these won't be season-defining games. Its too early for that.
As for Semedo, there has been a load of old pony wrote about him since he left. For us, he became a defender pushed up to play in midfield, was very unadventurous and more often than not played the ball sideways and backwards. However, the last few months of last season he was noticeably covering more ground, playing further up the pitch and playing a more rounded centre mid game than we had seen in the bulk of his time with us, so i'm no surprised you are struggling to recognise the descriptions some paint on here.
What can't be denied though was despite his so called limitations, he was a popular, whole-hearted player, who was in the top two for player of the year two years in a row. I'm sure he would have looked a better player this season with better players around him, but the move seems to have suited all three parties perfectly.

You are right - Ben Marshall has been nothing short of a revelation for us. Did not know the lad except for remebering him breaking his ankle in last years JPT final for Carlisle.
It's a long old season - the other 22 remaining results will be where its all decided I agree. But I still look forward to watching my club go up against the team in the number one spot who really have not done much wrong at all this season in terms of results. The game itself is what I am looking forward to - you hope for the result too but I am more excited by who wins the day in terms of the individual player battles and styles of play.
Blips are to come for every team - we've had a couple of one-off results (Stevenage, Walsall) but luckily (or more accurately because of Megson and the character he instills) these blips have not lasted more than a game or two, not half a season like last year.
You will hear many of our fans slag Morrison - in reality he was a player low on confidence - he had the attributes for sure but the club did not fit. Some players, some clubs I suppose.
BTW Leon Clarke will be nailed on to score against us.
