    I did
  • Good lad.

You on the 19.27 back then?
  • just bought my return :) yet to buy the match ticket
  • Great posts The Wednesday. I for one was a great advocate for Semedo and wished that we had kept him. In the end my/our loss was your gain.

As AFKA wrote CP was trying to get him to play more box to box in the latter part of last season. For me he was almost too good and a sweeper in front of the defence and was thus too shackled. That was tactical by our previous manager and whilst he did a great job in that role it wasn't using him to his full potential.

I can't wait for the game - win lose or draw (I hope we will obviously), I am sure it will be a great advert for the DIvision. If both our managers are doing their jobs right, they will ensure that the players approach this as "just another game" and will take the result the same way. Best wishes for the rest of the season.

    We are though.

Looking forward to the game just hope I last longer than half time (last season i walked after we'd missed the penalty, we were that dire) cos that'll mean we're doing things right, it'll be the sternest test of our home record to date and if that remains intact post game I cannot have many complaints.
  • They really like Semedo don't they!

Leeds are, you not so much. On the grand scheme of things you're probably around the same size of West Ham, if not smaller. Massive teams fill the Jimmy Seed End, Wednesday have never done it.

I doubt we have to be honest, think we've taken around 2k to 3 of the last four visits to The Valley with this seasons 700 being a low point and whatever you gave us for the games in 1995 and 1999.

In your last three visits to S6 you've brought 630, 703 and 408

Edit but this isn't a dick measuring competition, most Wednesday fans (myself included) accept we're a medium sized club with lots of potential but we find ourselves in the third tier due to woeful mismanagement from the mid 90's onwards, slowly we're trying to turn it around and get this once proud club back up the leagues.

  • in our defence owlsonline, how many wednesday fans live in london? I would suggest at least 10 times more than the amount of addicks living in yorkshire.
  • I genuinely wouldn't know fella, we have a LondonOwls group but i'm not sure on their numbers

  • 'Big club but not a massive club ... '
  • Wednesday are a big club, very big!! No doubting that.
There continued away numbers, depsite being in this league are testimony to that.
Im sure they have filled the Jimmy Seed in the past (well, sold all they could have) - they def did in 99.
But to the Wednesday fan, im pretty sure in the Cup in 04 or 05 we had over 2k up at your place in the 3rd round (2-4) and we also had a result outside, which probably don't sit well with your lot ;)
  • They are the biggest club in the Division but they haven't got the best team. We are pretty big for this league but there are bigger clubs than both of us in the higher divisions - what does it matter really?

  • Got the return train now, 19:27 and in 1st Class for £14.50, saving £96 on the first class price on the day ;)
    How so cheap?

Even Bristol City did it a couple of seasons ago, and Brighton did it.

Both on week nights as well. How many did Wednesday bring this season? 700. MASSIVE!

I didn't go to the cup game, it was January 2006 BTW, stayed in the Park Hotel and spent the admission money on Lager, dunno about any reulsts outside, but if that was they day that involved Mr Naylor i'm hardly surprised, to be honest I've always seen Charlton as a nice family club
