Was impressed with Dawson last season, he looked even better tonight. Will be suprised if they can hold onto him. Together with Spring they dominated the middle of the park, never saw Spring play like that for us. Buy Dawson I say.
.Just back from the game and firstly I have to say what fantastic support the team got today. We did not stop singing other than for short periods of the second half so well done charlton fans. Second losing a man so early on did for us and Hamer must be feeling disappointed with himself right now cos as has been said the back 4 were not themselves today and yes they for whatever reason were run ragged and its obvious they were unsettled by hamers departure. At ten men though you have to re-group and Jackson was the best man to do this; he was made captain and you could see why as he was shouting and marshalling the team throughout the first half and this was why he was left on despite his unfitness and the disappointment yet again is that with ten men you do need every single player to stand up and be counted and the fact was they did with 2 exceptions ; first exception was anyone who had a shot on goal as they 90% of the time did not hit the target (unforgiveable from professional footballers) and secondly was Bradley Wright Phillips who seems unable to defend/harry/chase effectively when the opposition has the ball even though his mate Kermogant did not stop doing this (what a player) and for this reason Powell took him off and this may present a sea-change in the attacking personnel as I thought both Pritchard and Hayes improved things immensely and yes I know Morrison was up there too. So in conclusion in many ways a good day if Powell now realises who next years team is, in other words who are the players who he can depend on to give their all and the irony is that bwp could have put away each and every opportunity we had in last 15 minutes. He has to change his attitude and then things will come good for him and more importantly the team.
I must be out of touch with the majority of you I'm afraid, was at the game like most of us and I thought the sending off made a massive difference, with 11 on the pitch from such an early stage I think we would have won it. On another day we could have easily got at least a point on the last 15 minutes alone. Sullivan looked rusty, Pritchard lively and Wiggy and Solly showed there class again. Roll on Monday, Brentford are a tough team to beat and have had a few results at the Valley in recent years but we should see a positive reaction from what is a strong squad COYR, spoke to a couple of Fulham fans at Kings Cross coming back from the Arsenal, they asked if we were bringing our full 2,000 to the cottage next week, they wouldn't believe me when I mentioned 7,000
Totally outplayed irrespective of being a man short. Midfield looks very weak and again I can't help thinking Hughes (or Pritchard) is a better bet than Russell.
At least the defenders threw themselves at anything that came their way but it was Orient who looked the top of the table side tonight.
we need to sell bwp, he just dosen't care anymore. Was like playing with 9.
We had to wait until just 3 hours to go to have the most ridiculous post of the year award winner.......Congratulations, you left it really late pal but I can't think anyone else will top that.
something needs to change with him, he's been awful recently. Powell obviously saw the same thing, give we were pushing for a goal and he felt we would have a better chance without him on than with him.
Can't really judge the performance seeing as we played 84 mins with 10 men & this must have an impact on any team.
Pluses were Pritchard (again) and can't see why he can't play instead of Russell - passed well & did the simple things as well as being effective up front.
The loss of Hamer did affect the game IMO. There isn't the same confidence with Sullivan and it didn't help that Sullivan was clearly match rusty.. Orient deserved a 2 goal win. I'm just keeping calm and carrying on. Plusses were definitely the supporters. They stood and applauded the players at the end of the game whilst the Orients had largely left the ground. Yann, Wiggins and Solly all worked their socks off. I'm still bothered by BWP, he still looks disinterested and I wondered if he was ever going to chase anyone down. Result was that the oppo. had lots of time to pick out an effective pass. We improved when Pritchard came on. I don't know what the problem is, but there is a problem. I'm confident that CP will get it sorted, so for me it's the usual Keep Calm and Carry On.
Not sure about the praise for Solly & Wiggins. They both had a decent 2nd half but both were badly caught out on a number of occasions in the 1st half. Lee Cook put in a constant stream of crosses during the period when Orient had 10 attempts & we couldn't manage a single one!!
I'm hoping this will be a kick up the arse for all of us , those of us that thought we were going to walk this league , and the players as well , we have been getting away with it for a few games , and it was only a matter of time before we were beaten again, saying that if you'd said to me in August we were going to be top going into the New Year , i would have bitten your hand off.
Just got back - Quite Obviously the sending off changed the game. Yes we did look weak in midfield, not Russell's best game. Punished us down the left side in the first half - couldn't believe that they didn't score more. Thought BWP held the ball up well but was unable to link-up with our (poor) midfield. Finally looked lively after Pritchard came on though. How did the Orient forward (was it KL) miss that chance when through 1o1. Shocking!
Think we might struggle on Monday but hope I'm wrong.
Wonder what the Stats are for conceding deflected goals - Bet we're top of that League too!
As Alan Curbishley always said, "It's important not to to let the highs be too high or the lows too low." Freak matches will happen - for us and other teams - but we move on.
It is not that he doesn't want to be here he needs a break it is bloody obvious , he is theft main threat for goals and he is to heavily relied on , take him out of the team give him a week off to re charge and re focus, imo
As he came off the pitch CP put his arm round him and he (BWP that is) said "Yes I know." I admit I have no idea what CP said to him but he seemed to be agreeing that he was subbed and wasn't sulking or annoyed at the decision...anyones guess what the reason was but he looked like he understood why he was subbed and there was no animosity or I'll feeling. I think he wasn't/isn't 100% fit

Your main striker needs to keep playing until he scores again and gets back in the zone..........not rested FFS!
It was said to me this evening that this is the longest bwp has played without having a break enforced on him due to injury,
In my opinion bwp needs a rest and a bit of pressure taking off of him ,
He looks leggy and tired and I thought he looked un interested tonight
At least the defenders threw themselves at anything that came their way but it was Orient who looked the top of the table side tonight.

Kermy, & Wiggins again joint MOTM.
He needs a goal, it will come sooner rather than later and he'll then be flying again.

Make him available and teams will be queuing up. It would cost 2m to replace him and with his contract sitution we'd be lucky to get 300-400k.
Short memories Charlton fans.
