Good signing. Up front with Ecclestone or Benson with Anyinah and Wagstaff feeding from the wings..another midfielder and at least one defender...hmm, asking too much?
brilliant signing!! well done to chrissy powell and the board! can you imaging bwp and eccleston coming on as subs against tyring defenders in league one games to come!!

I think the 18 month coontract is a very good move. That should be about the time we are preparing for life back in the prem. No offence to BWP but by then we'll be needing something a little more and we wont be tied to a long contract with someone we cant use. Having said that what a great signing to get us up there. We now really need a midfeild player with vision that can open up defences and lay the ball off to what is now a very good strikeforce, lets face it it's only a good strikeforce if you feed it. Semedo has got holding midfield covered, that leaves Racon and although many say he's been our consistant player he wont ever be the one we need to set our forwards up. To use the pace that is now at our disposal we need someone that can change the game with one quick intelligent pass, it wont be so much about wing play. Maybe a bostock or shelvey type player is what is needed now.
Really pleased with this signing, now lets sort out midfield and maybe get Konchesky on loan at the back and championship here we come.
I would personally keep Benson purely as a different option. Sodje and/or Abbot have the physicality, Wagstaff, Ecclestone and Anyinsah and now BWP have pace and can shoot on the run, but Benson still looks like the most likely of any of them to snatch a goal in a crowded area, which I think could be very useful if we have to break down a tight, compact defence.
Good signing, dont see the simularities with when we signed andy gray, most of his 13 goals came from penalties. Waggy could still play in the hole behined the front 2 and feed them the ammo they need. A quicker CB, and I reckon we are set.
I'd be cautious about divesting ourselves of too many of our "surplus" strikers at this stage of the season, assuming money is no longer so tight that it's no longer a financial imperative. Given the question marks over BWP's knee and the fact that Anyinsah has been in and out of the side with injury, I think we need at least one more striker as cover than we'd normally consider if they were both fully fit.
With no or at least less financial reason to offload strikers keep them all. We know BWP and Joe have inury issues and Eccles cake man is on loan. Plus abbott and sodje offer a different option when needed.
Powell now has plenty of cover upfront and out wide (NE and Joe can both play wide) which can only be good.
A good signing if he can stay fit and we can provide him with some chances! We really need a creative cm, someone can play the magic pass every now and again....as people have mentioned before, someone in the andy reid/danny murphy mould. That being said, good creative midfielders are hard to come by, especially in this division, so I feel we may need to poach someone form somewhere...
I expect Benno and Anyinsah to start at Dale, Ecclestone will probably come off the bench and BWP has not played for a while and I wonder how much training he has done whilst been pimped around the divisions.
One of the best things about this signing is that it is a further acknowledgement of our intention to get the down and play the right way. Only bad thing is we might have to put up with frequent visits by his Dad.
I just think its great value to get three strikers for this money. I hope they all do well of course, despite the dodgy knees, but getting rid of any of our current crop before the end of the season would be madness
competition for places may even bring the best out of them
Didnt I read somewhere that Anyinsah's contract was due to finish next week? Maybe he is the one who is making way. I can see us loaning out one of the other forwards at some stage.

Surely that's a good thing - more publicity for the club.

Why is that bad? He's a top bloke and a great example of how to turn your life around after tearaway years.

He's been one of our more consistent players this year?
I wondered that as well. Our most skilled midfielder. We need one or two more like him.
I hope not, one of them should be starting!
Both. :-)

As said by others just a creative midfielder and an agile CD
