[cite]Posted By: Scoham[/cite]The OS said the fee for Shelvey was £1.75m, while on the SLP website there's a quote from Murray in which he says it was £3m. If possible it would be interesting to know which it is, and is it £3m after all clauses?
Following on from that, did the club agree a deal with Liverpool to take some young players on loan? If they did, will it just be for one season, or more long term?
£1.7M up front, rising to a possible £3M depending on appearances & a sell on clause as well.
Thought it probably was, where was that confirmed then?

[cite]Posted By: Stu of HU5[/cite]JohnnyH2 - there was a great deal of e-mail correspondence between the Fans' Forum and the Club and discussion at Target 40k committee meetings about the Swindon ticket fiasco. This didn't need to be made public, but I'm sure that lessons were learned.
Yeah, why bother informing the people you are supposed to represent
Stu - the outcome has been fully communicated.
Do you really expect to see every piece of correspondence? Every e-mail, every text, every conversation written down for your benefit?
Give me a break.
Dave apolgies but I missed the outcome that was communicated. Any chance it could be repeated?

JohnnyH2 - there was a response to criticism published on the Official Site:
Also, the Target 40k committee discussed the learnings points and agreed much more sensible measures should we have reached the Play-Off Final. Some of this was discussed at the time on another thread, but you can trawl through the archives as well as I can if you want to find that.
You may dismiss the Play-off Final arrangements as irrelevant and I have some sympathy with that. But, until we find ourselves in a similar situation and with the opportunity to prove the point, you'll just have to take on trust the fact that things will be better next time. Of course, a lot more may have changed by then, but the 'Swindon fiasco' lessons will not be forgotten.
VIP five-year season ticket holders will be top priority for away tickets but the club has the same commitment to other groups, including North Stand patrons and Valley Gold members. I believe there are 473 VIPs but it's unlikely that they would all want to go to a particular away game, plus we have to bear in mind that some of them will also be Valley Gold members (less likely to want to go) and we will always seek to protect regular away travellers, especially - perhaps only - if they are season-ticket holders.
We are unllikely to sell out at most games next season and therefore although the club will proceed with caution it is not going to institute multiple tiers of priority for every match (another source of critiicism). The commitment to VIPs is there and we will honour it, but most of the time it's unlikely to be necessary in practice.
In terms of a more formal points system and weighting of particular away games, it's not going to happen because the system - and if we're honest the staffing level and other infrastructure - isn't able to cope with it.
As Dave says, Swindon has been done to death. At the root of the problem is that the club vastly underestimated the demand and that was reflected in the sale arrangements. There were other factors, but if the club had recognised the demand these would have been overcome. However, I think we have to face up to the fact that even if the criteria had been appropriate to the demand, some people would have been disappointed and aggrieved that they missed out to groups who had been recognised, i.e. Valley Gold and regular travellers who were not season-ticket holders. The Valley Gold committee fights its corner vigorously, usually in the person of Mick Gebbett. As by far the biggest external funder of the academy, Valley Gold and its continued financial health remains important.
I am not saying the club didn't make a mess of Swindon, because we did. But it's not the case that if we had set more sensible criteria everyone would have been happy. And the same will no doubt apply in future.
I have a serious request for the FF that i'd really like them to take on board.
My young son is now 4 years old and i'm desperate to bring him to the Valley just like my dad did when i was his age. I agree this season may be too soon but maybe the one after next. My concern is that the tannoy volume is deafening. Before the match and at half time i cannot talk to my dad or indeed anyone else as the music and most annoyingly BIG DL (i love you DL but the just turn the volume down a tad) is so flipping loud.
It genuinely makes me jump when DL begins to speak! Please , please, please Jim (oops wrong programme) can you ask someone to reduce the volume. It hurts my ears and will almost certainly hurt my sons.
And on the subject of kids. Any chance of bringing back the 'kids for a quid' ?
Sure many of the younger fans we've managed to keep hold of came to their first games during this scheme. Can't see it being a problem as we are now deep in the brown stuff.
I put together a draft agenda earlier in the week and submitted it to the Club. This agenda covered more or less all the items suggested here and via other sources and were grouped under the following headings:
1) Review of Fans' Forum and Club interactions 2) Future plans and expectations for the Club 3) Operational matters 4) Communication with fans
We are hopeful that we can discuss with the Club many of the hot topics which you and your fellow fans have raised ...... however ......
.... feedback from key individuals at the Club has indicated that we may need to spend most of our time tonight on the first topic - a review of the Fans' Forum, how we have operated with the Club over the last twelve months or so, how we can improve, plans for the future etc.
In that event, we may find it difficult to deal with the remainder of the agenda in the time available tonight, so it is likely that we will need a follow-up meeting with the Club in the near future to get down to some of this nitty gritty.
I'll report back tomorrow, but just wanted to alert people that we may not have responses to much of what we planned to talk about. What we will have is an agreed way forward as to how the Fans' Forum needs to evolve, including scope, structure, planning etc.
Sorry Dave, but most of the meeting tonight will be spent discussing the 'Fans Forum' and how it's operated, rather that actually discussing the points the fans have raised and would like answers to...unbelieveable !!, I understand there's probably a need for a certain amount of time to be allocated for this but if if then means another subsequent meeting, then that's just ridiculous in my opinion......meetings for meetings sake (sounds like my office)
Surely by virtue of the fact that you have a long agenda of questions/queries from 'fans' means that the FF effectively has a role to play.

Just passing on the feedback from the Club. Not saying that I agree with it, or that tonight's meeting will actually go that way, but I didn't want to get to tomorrow morning before sharing this possible scenario.

not being funny mate but a kids season ticket for £49 is outstanding value. I think the club is doing a magnificent job in attracting kids. I have been taking a mates son all season with me, his dad couldn't commit to going every game, but bought him a season ticket and I take him.

Good on you mate. Keep the younger generation coming through those turnstiles for years to come!

Excellent value. But that's not going to get any newcomers through the gate.

If you read through the topic, I already had a discussion with Airman over this. I agree with you on needing to do something different to get new/lapsed fans in. Problem with Kids for a Quid apparently is that on the day prices are already only £5, so the price differential isn't that. much, but with the right promotion I reckon it'l get a few more in people and wont lose that much money if it is done.

well if you're working 24 hours a day 7 days a week, you can fit a lot of meetings in
Hope it goes well.
Just how far can you make £211.32p go?
I'll post a summary over the weekend.
Waggot now he can afford to go

He only goes now and then (will go roughly 10 times, working out at a tenner a time overall) - but that's extremely good value in today's Britain.
Cheers
