[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]Jeez Len, give it up mate !!
Is there no topic you can't shoehorn the Curbishley thing into ???
The point, question, call it what you will is has the Club in fact been run badly (or to put it another way not as well as we, including me, thought) for a lot longer than we think?
Could it be that the excellent work and genius of Curbishley camouflaged the inefficiencies and they only crystallised post relegation with the fecklessness of both Dowie and Pardew being major additional contributory factors.
Tel, If people have specific complaints about individuals at the club to which they want a specific response they need to raise them directly with the club, not just on message boards. I have no problems with them being aired on here to make a point but in this particular case, as I've said, the bloke's off work. I have no idea when he might be back and I am not there myself.
At the end of the season staff were exhausted, demoralised and anxious. I know Dave and I know his attitude to fans is first class
So you'll have to leave to my judgement what I pass on from message boards. If you want to follow it up because you feel you know better feel free.

I have an ongoing issue with the ticket office, commercial centre whatever it is called this week.
The issue has not (yet) been resolved but Dave Archer and his team have kept me posted most recently yesterday when somebody telephoned to explain that Dave was off.
All I (and I imagine most people) ask is to be kept abreast with developments and that has happened in my case.
I suspect that the problems at Charlton are with the Officers rather than the poor bloody infantry.
I work for Sainsbury's and we have a 'Tell Justin' scheme, where thoughts and ideas can be emailed to the chief executive Justin King, and you will always receive a response, about whether your idea is feasible or not, and if it will be carried out or further investigated.
Maybe this is something the club could implement, and would stop all the 'where is the money going?' type questions.
[cite]Posted By: Fanny Fanackapan[/cite]Bit late for a " Tell Steve scheme" methinks ......
Rebranding not even required.
Seriously, of course the club should respond to emails and I often field them for other people at their request. But how quickly and how detailed the response will depend on the circumstances and we get quite a few that you might call rhetorical, especially about football matters. We are also likely to ignore messages that are abusive.
On the question of an open day at Sparrows Lane, I think this would be popular but it's not going to happen (this year) on the basis of cost and practicality. As well as access and parking issues, you have the costs of casual staffing, temporary structures and security, plus issues around the training pitches. The overriding problem would be cost and while I realise people will say that we would take money on the day that's a risk at best. Suppose it pours with rain. It really does come down to which staff member you would make redundant to pay for it and there are only so many things you can get sponsored. The problem is that most of the benefits are intangible and the costs are tangible.
A Valley Express service from elsewhere in London would duplicate public transport provision at a higher cost, so is unlikely to work. We did try this across Bromley and there was no interest at all, even in the Premier League. The local pick-ups we do operate are poorly utilised and these are in areas with a high density of fans.
